Early to mid march just as BTC peaked sold all SOL at 131, 191, 181 for about +120%. Stax, CKB, FET, DOT, Wif and Pepe too making from -20% to +300% but it was all in traces, tiny % of total folio. Now keeping most of it in usdc in a lending pool and waiting for buying opportunities for more of BTC
Dot was one of the few I sold at the top like literally $1 off the top. So I did ok tho I wish I had sold it ALL. I still have a bit. I just meant I’d rather be stuck with ADA than DOT at this point. I guess we shall see
Tough decision but I guess I'd try to spread it to cover a lot of hot zones. Would stack up some more DOT, wanna get some more DIA because I strongly believe in oracles and I think that they will be a good L2 for Bitcoin. I wanna get some more Basechain memes like DEGEN and ROCK. Also some AI projects like OCEAN. Some DePIN stuff as well.
In the same boat as you. ADA + DOT bags are really heavy now. But I am hoping for an alt season in a couple of months so I am hodling.
For my DOT stakers, have you noticed an increase in rewards these past couple days?
Held for many years, what would the best move be regarding ADA + DOT? Do people think they will actually rise again or better to cut them loose right now?
> If you are in "crypto" to make fiat, buy new cycle shitcoins. I was saying this in 2019 that new shitcoin scams like ATOM, DOT, etc were coming and not to hold on to your old shitcoin scams... > Don't worry, a new round of shitcoins will be coming with new hype. Soon people will be shilling about Cosmos, Polkadot, Hydera Hash, Fantom, Radix, etc. Some of these other coins that are in the top 25 will be gone the way Stratis, Golem, MaidSafe, Bitshares, SingularDTV which were in the top 25 at this time in 2017. https://np.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/bjohvq/daily_discussion_may_2_2019_gmt0/emd4p9j/ ...the thing now is there are literally thousands and thousands of shitcoins
There was a hype in 2021, Ben Cowen was saying Dot gonna reach $200.. and with the upcoming parachains it has reached like $40. ..but then the hype was over and with the crash it dipped to $4. I was holding a big bag then, sold eveeything at $23 and since never bought in because i always saying..DOT will never reach its ath again, it was all hyped, shilled by ben cowen and the parachains.. Its indeed really horrible to invest in DOT..
If ur buying and hodling DOT, u might as well just hang to the majority of it forever just for the staking rewards alone. The price will come will time
I feel like DOT is a horrible investment. Insane inflation and the price action is abysmal.
I would swap ADA to SOL or VET, keep 15% DOT just in case
Honestly I'd keep DOT because I still believe it will do good longer term. I'm ready to average my bag down hard it it goes below $6. I also hold ADA, but unlike DOT I no longer believe ADA has the juice to last - which is why I recently sold 75% of my bag at a loss. SOL I'm late to, but I'm definitely holding on to my modest bag for later this year, I think it will rally a hell of a lot faster than ETH. I can't speak for AERO but you sound pretty confident about it. Maybe trade your ADA for AERO?
Shill away. I need help consolidating my altcoins. I currently have the below, having held SOL/DOT/ADA since 2021 - SOL is in the green but DOT and ADA are not. My BTC/ETH is not for discussion. 40% SOL 30% DOT 16% AERO 14% ADA What would you consolidate this into and why? All into AERO? All into something else?! Seems like a good dip to perhaps enter something new or even consolidate into one. Always had a thought that DOT would do well longer term when I originally bought in in 2021...but it's not stood up well. What would you do?
Nah I am actually even more confident now ASI will go 10x-20x after initial launch. This thread and all the comments are giving me early Chainlink and DOT thread vibes from r/CC before they went on their insane runs....
DOT's top was 55, bought at 32. Doge was 75, bought at 45. Unfortunately I got greedy. I'm sure you've never lost a cent.
Average for DOT at $16, previously 32. Sold Doge for loss at 25 cents, which it still hasn't made back to that. Sold Algo for loss. SOL average of 162, actually averaged up gradually from 128 so that's on me. ETH overall profit but DCA'd from $4600 (yes serious) to 2500. Unfortunately DOT is my biggest investment.
That's because ATOM's inflation is insane. Same problem with DOT.
I'm bullish on DOT but that inflation though. WIF could be the next Shiba Inu
BTC, AVAX, MATIC, NEAR, DOT, ADA. AVAX is a long term play, I see it breaking $100 one day again
The rare cc-user who learns from past mistakes haha, kudos! I say that as someone who would instantly average down my DOT if I had the liquidity 😅
95% ETH 5% VET, going to get more alts. Recommendations? MATIC, ARGO, DOT, ADA, LINK are frontrunners
FET, TIA, MATIC, SEI, ADA, DOT are memecoins to you? Every top 10 alt fell 50-60% since last week. Open your eyes.
ADA/DOT/MATIC the big 3 of pain
You haven't heard of Tao (Bittensor) ? It's one of the hottest AI projects and a parachain on DOT.
Not to mention r/cc loves DOT.
Personally I don’t understand why people still buy DOT out of all the coins out there. It was $6 a year ago and still $6 now and also has terrible inflation. Till this day, I’ve never heard of any projects being built on Polkadot.
Got some microbags on Kraken I want to consolidate into one new token. Ocean, FET or RNDR? Alternatively - average down my DOT? Would love to hear your takes!
I bought PHA and DOT on the crash
At $6 I'm going hard on DOT. I will be shocked if it doesn't hit $20 later this year
I mean we went from a little over $11 to a little over $6 in the last month. If BTC goes down to $60k, I can see DOT going sub $5
It’s hard to say. Which ever direction Bitcoin goes it’ll drag DOT along with it. I personally can’t imagine it going lower than $5 at this point but anything can happen.
So how low is DOT gonna go this next round of dips? $5? $4? By the time bitcoin hits $100k, DOT will have recovered back up to $10
its all down by 50% if you look at a timeframe of about 3 months (i compare with e.g. SOL, MATIC, LINK, DOT and so on) so thats about alright.
How are you concluding DOT is a winner and ADA is a loser fr? I mean maybe both are losers.. DOT lol
This is pretty good advice, however DOT is supported despite its high inflation because the staking rate is higher than the inflation rate, so it is actually beneficial to stake it. However if you dont stake your DOT you are literally losing value over time. As long as the tokenomics make sense a high inflation rate is fine. But 99% of tokens have an inflation rate higher than the staking return which is just horrific. https://www.stakingrewards.com/asset/polkadot Always look for the inflation rate, make sure its lower than the staking return.
Got some more SOL 🌞 Considering DOGE, TRAC and JUP. If DOT falls below $5 I'm tempted to average down there as well. I'm a firm believer that the real bull is ahead of us still
My DOT staking rewards have been so strange paying out as of recently. Anyone else having some delays?
I’ve been hearing about deals on alts for 3 years. It was once considered a deal to buy DOT at $30…then 25, 20, and all the way to $5. If isn’t BTC or ETH you might as well buy a fucking dog coin.
Can't wait to pickup DOT at $4-5 again and stake it
It's 5% literally just for BTC. Everything else is 30%. SOL from 200+ to 140s. LINK from 22 to 15. DOT from almost 12 to 7, nearly 50%. People aren't panicking, this is a legit crash for alts. Basically only ETH and BTC remain safe-ish
There is hundreds of coins that have something "interesting coming soon". People are not exited for DOT
I bought DOT myself, i bought at 6.55$ (it did dip to 6.50$) when DOT has been usually on the 8-9.50$ lately.
I've been buying into alts since the FTX crash. I'm still in healthy profits at this level and any doubts I just look at that sweet 17% yield on my DOT and realise it's just a case of how much profit I'll make at this point. The long game always pays off.
Because it's about hype and making money, not the tech, not the privacy, not the real world use cases going on right now, it's not about how ETH is basically the US dollar, right now it's about memes, just like the DOT COM boom, and VC's pumping that shitcoin Solana
notable ones? ETH, ADA, DOT are a few
In a very far and distant dream I’d like a DOT ETF or a grouped Alt Coin ETF but lol not gonna happen
It took two years of painful and persistent DCA but with this dip I finally made the last purchase and became a wholecoiner! Can't tell you how good it feels to be the proud owner of 1 DOT.
I guess I’ll be passing this DOT bag down to my kids lol.
Don’t invest more than you’re willing to lose. It’s easy to get caught up in “Oh no, I’m down 20% and idk if I should sell to avoid more loss”, but if you invest in cryptocurrencies that have been around for awhile (BTC, ETH, XRP, DOT, MATIC, etc.), there is a solid chance they will go back up in value. However, be careful with the thinking that certain cryptos will return to their ATH.
Probably do half ETH, half of the rest in LTC, then the final quarter into DOT. Really love the daily payouts for the staking rewards on that one. Making a buck a day now, would be sweet to make $5 or whatever that would be for $12K.
Come on DOT… do something
Should have waited a bit longer till DOT 2.0?
I like DOT but it's like ATOM, great project terrible tokenomics and high inflation
Thank you for your sacrifice. Time for Pendle to take a dump and DOT to get a pump!
I had enough of DOT and after holding for 4 years I swapped for Pendle. I think DOT can reach its all time high but there's def after horses in the race with alot more upside
Cardana is still overvalued, it should go way below DOT and LINK. Top 25 doesn't suit it.

The big (and first) memecoin on DOT is PINK, not DED.
I’m so tired of watching DOT rot. I can’t believe I held this shit at $55 and said no to selling. Lesson learned (hopefully)
tldr; Polkadot has partnered with IndyCar racer Conor Daly to feature its branding on Daly's car in the Indianapolis 500, highlighting a significant collaboration between cryptocurrency and motorsport. This community-driven sponsorship was approved by 95.8% in a vote, funding Daly's participation with approximately $2.1 million worth of DOT. The initiative not only marks Polkadot's entry into racing but also represents a broader trend of crypto industries engaging with motorsports, as seen with other teams and platforms. Daly expressed honor in being chosen by the Polkadot community, emphasizing the project's aim to foster a more open internet. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. I will start off by saying, please don't give your money to anybody to invest for you. Secondly, a $2 profit on $70 just barely covers your trading fees, so it's not actually profit (only the exchange makes money in this case). You should learn trading basics (buy at support, sell at resistance, etc). EmperorBTC (on Twitter and Telegram) has easy-to-understand trading manuals that I used when I started learning. If you are looking to invest for retirement, then buy BTC. If you are looking to actually earn steady income to survive on, then you will have to look at a bit more volatile coins (NOT memes). Large caps like LINK, DOT, VET (as an example) and a few mid-caps, are a little more volatile than btc but wont dump as hard as micro-caps/memes. Good luck 😊
DOT airdrops are worthless. Same with Cosmos.
You’re not supposed to point out the overwhelming demand for SOL. You’re supposed to go, “Muh, VC bad!” and then cry into your bags of ALGO and DOT.
DOT cause it's my 2nd biggest bag after ETH and a 50% loss.
What's in ur opinion biggest dissapointment coin that was sth last run: ADA, MATIC, DOT, XTZ or ATOM?
Not when it is all hoop jumping and obscure chains like DOT.
DOT 2.0 will be everything DOT was supposed to be all along
I will suggest you only put 20% of that into crypto, mainly BTC, and diversify into altcoins like QANX, NEAR, DOT, and other good altcoins too. The aim is to never invest more than you can afford to lose.
Never take a look at DOT and Manta
Could very well be. All these coins like ADA, DOT, AVAX, ect are not going to make new ATH this year. Everyone is kinda aware that the jig is up on crypto, they know that it goes up and it crashes down. So... since it has gone up, why would anyone buy now? It could crash down as soon as you buy in lol
>It’s true DOT is in serious trouble mainly because the founders and core devs don’t have the balls to stand up to one whale who is in complete control of their treasury. I say this sadly as a parachain founder, and since this whale decided to reveal themselves in October last year DOT governance has imploded. That's already the case with Decentralized Voices.. and it's the reason Giotto is unstaking to begin with. >Gav could so easily have put a stop to this but the utter lack of leadership from him has left a vacuum that got filled by someone who was intent on destroying Polkadot and had the funds to do it. That would be an issue for future ETF aproval.
As a holder of DOT, it kind of sucks :/
Every chain has memecoins, but the overwhelming majority of that activity is happening on Solana right now. The big memecoin on DOT was DED, which coincidentally seems pretty dead.
Literally 2 positive DOT posts on the front page right now... hate to break it to you but inverse r/cc would be bearish DOT.
>this sub : <insert DOT fud > huh, where? I only ever see positive stuff about DOT on this sub, except for talk about the price, which I would say is objectively not FUD.
With every milestone and progress in Polkadot this sub : <insert DOT fud >
It’s breeze for me . Similar to cosmos . 1 wallet that interacts with all your assets . Bridging parachains is also cheap and fast . I do think that people saying they find it hard are investors from the 2020-21 run . The ecosystem has grown so much more in the last 2 -3 years . The days of using Polkadot.Js for retail is over . Staking in pools with minimal DOT or using one of the many wallets available is super easy and cheap . Big projects such as Mythos for web3 gaming has me very excited . You only hear about it if you are interested. Most of this sub is really ignoring or sleeping on DOT imo.
Jokes on you my DOT does x1 every single day
They are close to that if You're looking at DOT/BTC pair
I have my concerns about DOT price action but it is far from record lows.
What is the best way to stake DOT? Im using Exodus wallet so is it best to do it there or is there a better way?

It is a Web3 project, which aims to develop IT infrastructures for a decentralized web, at the center of which, together with other projects, will be Polkadot. We are facing a monumental project, with very ambitious objectives and which also aims to offer an important basis for the development of autonomous and collateral projects. Without going into overly technical concepts, the goal of scalability translates into the ability to host more and more projects, ensure greater connectivity without increasing consumption and costs and without slowdowns. Polkadot scalability is one of the main features of DOT network, but it's not the only one. Talking about the concept of interconnetcion between blockchains, there are actually several projects that offer IT infrastructures for connecting blockchains that otherwise couldn't talk to each other. The peculiarity of Polkadot lies in offering interfaces that also allow the transmission of raw data, that is, non-tokenized data. This can be extremely important for data useful for triggering a smart contract, which comes for example from exchanges or other types of data centers. Polkadot network doesn't need hardforks too. In order to implement significant innovations within the project, older generation blockchain projects had to split to continue on the project. This is a slow process, expensive in terms of resources and often confusing. Polkadot (DOT), on the other hand, is a project that allows for the implementation of innovations in the running, or rather in production, without the need to split the tree and leave another as abandoned. A structure of this type, which today is actually common to many and different blockchains, makes Polkadot much more useful in case you want to implement the innovations that the market requires. It is important to talk about the founders who animate the project too. Among these is Gavin Wood, whom the most passionate about cryptocurrencies will remember being one of the founders of Ethereum. An important figure within the cryptocurrency community and inventor of the Proof of Authority and Whisper protocols. > > > # How does it work? > > Before being a cryptocurrency (DOT), Polkadot is one if the latest generation blockchain protocol, which has the main purpose of allowing interconnection between different chains, internal or external to the project. There are several characteristics that we could define as unique to the project: > > > * **Scalability**: Classic blockchains can only perform a finite number of operations and can quickly become too expensive in terms of transaction costs or slow in processing information. Polkadot instead has a shared multichain design, which means that it can process information and transactions by relying on different blockchains in parallel. This allows to eliminate at the root the phenomena of bottlenecks - which are one of the main problems of the old generation blockchains - and to be able to have infinite scalability on paper. > > * **Flexibility**: Another typical problem with older generation blockchains is that they are highly incapable of adapting to uses other than those for which they were intended. In Polkadot, on the other hand, flexibility is by design. Parachains can be developed, which means they can operate according to their own rules and adapt to the needs of the project. This puts enormous potential in the hands of developers, which allows the creation of projects that other types of systems would never have allowed. Allowing sovereignty to internal projects makes Polkadot crucial within the new wave of decentralized finance. That is, systems that aim to offer bank-like services on the blockchain. Those who are comfortable with the terms borrowed from computer science, could imagine Polkadot's parachain and general rules as libraries that can be easily inserted into their projects. > > * **Sharing of information and features**: Just as if they were software that share the same operating system. One of the most important things that can be shared are transaction validations. Those who want to develop their own distributed App, can rely on the entire network that we have just described, behind payments in DOT. The crucial importance of DOT is connected, but it is a concept that we will express in greater detail below, to the use that is made of the platform. > > > # Where to store it? > > The best hot wallets for Polkadot are Polkawallet, Polkadot.js, TrustWallet and Atomic Wallet. If you want more security, a cold storage like Ledger or Trezor is the right choice. > > > # Pros&Cons > > \*DISCLAIMER\* These lists are subjective, it depends from person to person > > **Pros** > > > 1. Functionality > > 2. Scalability > > 3. Very innovative project > > **Cons** > > 4. China (at the moment a large percentage of DOT is held in China, and we all know that China is very unpredicatble if we talk about crypto) ***** Would you like to learn more? tldr; The Polkadot blockchain has achieved a new milestone by reaching over 600,000 active addresses, with Moonbeam accounting for over 41% of these. The network also saw an increase in unique accounts with non-zero balances, surpassing 5.59 million. However, total transactions in March were lower compared to December 2023. Polkadot's token, DOT, experienced a 3.3% decrease in value over 24 hours, trading at $8.95, and is down 83% from its all-time high. Additionally, the Polkadot community launched a memecoin, DOT is $DED, which saw limited interest post-airdrop. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. I left 20% in a staking pool. DOT is/was my 3rd biggest bag for years. Opengov has left a bad taste in my mouth with influencers and DED raiding the treasury. The chain is governed by the community and we're a bunch of idiots. Honestly, this project has been a disappointment at every turn and I've been around for all of them.
BTC, ETH, LINK, ATOM Strong Maybe: SOL, ADA, DOT
The question is whether that’s sustainable in the long run. DOT staking rewards are high because the Polkadot network has 10% annual inflation.
BTC, ETH, chainLINK, DOT, XLM, and probably ADA as stablecoin
Doge will last longer than ADA ICP ALGO DOT LINK
Maybe. Also DOT. I also should have included LINK.
If TVL is the most important metric, tron is better than BTC. Blast is better than DOT and ADA. That is just not true, we all know. TVL is just a metric, there are superior metrics and fundamentals to evaluate projects.
IF we see a market-wide dump right after the halving (if!), followed by a proper bull, what are some entry prices you'd recommend looking out for? There's no keeping track of every token out there, so let's share our experiences. * I'd say LTO ($0.247) is a steal around $0.15 for this cycle. * TRAC ($1.09) at about $0.8 I think will be a solid entry. * If SOL ($178.97) dips severely I'm holding out until ~$130-140 before buying more. * JUP ($1.39) below $1 is a great buy * I belive in DOT ($8.68) long-term more than most here, and I'm definitely ready to average down hard if it dips back below $6
