GOOGL will big beat, AMZN will go up tomorrow alongside MSFT bc this META drag-down on them makes no sense. Easy dip buying continues, feeling bad for bers.
I'm not sure how MSFT and AMZN are supposed to beat on earnings/guidance after what we're seeing out of IBM and NOW. IBM and NOW had great earnings and the reaction is completely "sell the news" as if all the upside was priced in during the NVDA led AI boom of the past 10 months.
The lesson here is if they said AI a bunch last earnings and didn't deliver much by now, they're going to drop. So GOOG/L is likely going to tank, MSFT and AMZN might be ok, AAPL is going to die so hard, maybe to 155, again. I know nothing, but have heavy vibes about this...
idk about consensus but I'm bearish on google, especially now, and bullish on MSFT / AMZN.
How tf does META even remotely impact AMZN ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)
yeah and very little volume for NVDA, META, AMZN etc. MMs are laying low before earnings.

MSFT, AMZN, PLTR, CVX calls
"UnitedHealth Group is throwing in the towel on its Optum Virtual Care telehealth business." Funny to me that the only company making telehealth "work" seems to be the often mocked Hims, TDOC terrible, UNH closing its division, and even AMZN backed off seemingly. ED and hair loss (which is what most see Hims as currently) are seen as a funny gimmick business and yet Hims is now FCF positive growing at over 30% y/y taking market share
AMZN calls seem too obvious. They’ve been laying off dead weight and nuking unprofitable projects, increasing revenue streams and introducing new ones. Call to put ratio for 5/17 is super one sided. I feel like if they don’t smash earnings it’s going to tank, but if they beat it might crack $200 this year.
If credit card companies kicked ass during their earnings, wouldn't it make sense that AMZN will have kicked ass?
If you priced AMZN purely based on their retail side then their valuation would be just like any other retailer (with a slight multiple increase because of their fulfillment capabilities - warehouses, delivery network, etc.) But seemingly out of nowhere came AWS. TSLA has the capability of doing something similar. TSLA may develop other tech (AI, robots) that can add significant value, more than the car industry. But that is pure speculation. If Elon Musk doesn't get his pay package (to bring his stake in TSLA up to 25%) he may not put in the effort to build the tech at TSLA but rather form other companies that he can control 100%. If he does get the pay package I actually expect TSLA to go up. If you wanted to bet on which company will succeed with robots TSLA is not a bad guess. If you expect this to happen over the next couple of years you are way off. I think it will take 10-20 years before robots become common in the home. They will first be used in warehouses and factories. If you wait until robots are a proven product then it will be too late to invest as the prices will have priced in the potential long before then. Can TSLA 10x? Yes. Will it be in less than 5 years? Not likely, but in 20 years? Quite possibly.
if meta moons at earnings, will it pull up AMZN and MSFT?
Makes sense. You think that is what is going on with AMZN today too?
Market revaluing Tesla as an AI company and NVDA, META, AMZN as car companies

AMZN?! Why is it sinking after every analyst ever raised the target? Is this just pulling back a little after the two day rally?

After TSLA clown earnings report, APPL calls and AMZN puts
I made money on their last earnings report, but that is how they get you, isn't it? Make a bit of money once or twice then get wrecked when you double down. I usually sell puts, but the last week was rough with the market putting some otm MSFT puts I sold down as much as 250% at some point. Those should be fine by EoW. I generally prefer theta to be on my side, but I'm not ever going to sell naked calls. Unless, I had a time machine to go back to early last year to YOLO my whole account into NVDA, I don't see how a buy and hold strategy could do better than I've done since the start of 2023 other than another terrible year like 2022, but even then I held AMZN shares for massive losses.

> So in September, from what I've found in this sub and others, I'll begin making substantial loan payments to knock them down right away Make yourself liquid first. Throw a bunch of money in a money fund -- say six months expenses. You'll be eating some interest on the debt, but it'll be partially offset by the interest on the money fund. > I'll attempt to max out the 401k plan that we have access to Bare minimum, get any matching funds available. But at $165k, yeah, I think maxing it is the right move even if it slows down paying off the student loan debt. Also, Traditional contributions. > I'll open an IRA (traditional...instead of Roth because of my income?) Backdoor Roth. You'll make to much to contribute directly to a Roth IRA, so you contribute to a Traditional IRA (won't be able to deduct the contribution because you make too much), and them immediately roll it into a Roth IRA. Since you're already paying taxes on the Trad contribution, it's kind of "free" to do so, and much better than leaving it in a Trad IRA. > 70% VTI, 30% QQQ. QQQM, not QQQ. Lower expense ratio, and basically identical as long as you aren't doing stupid things with options. Yeah, plan seems pretty reasonable. You'll be tech heavy, but I think long term, that's probably a very good thing. A lot of folks here are against picking stocks with good reason, but I think taking a bit of bonus money and picking isn't a bad thing. It keeps you engaged, you learn things, you gain experience, but you aren't threatening the vast majority of your funds. Just a tip re: picking stocks -- account for opportunity cost. If you HADN'T been buying that stock, you'd have probably been buying VTI. So record the price of VTI when you bought so you can see whether you're accomplishing anything in exchange for the higher risk. Just for example, I bought AMZN back in late 2020... I'm up like $1,400, but if I'd have thrown it at VTI, I'd have been up like $3,800. So functionally, I lost like $2,400 as of today. The other benefit of doing something like that is it puts losses in perspective... If you buy something that drops but the entire market is dropping at the same time... meh.
$AMZN launches low-cost grocery subscription service. Calls on $AMZN fam.
I just picked up a few shares. I got burned way too bad last week on TSM and Netflix and I just feel uneasy about Meta. Holding some long calls for AMZN and MSFT though.
Thanks for your submission! To keep things interesting, we want to see big gains and big losses! So we've set the following thresholds for Gain, Loss, and YOLO flaired posts: * YOLO posts must be a minimum of $10,000 of options or $25,000 of shares and recently opened. * Gain / Loss posts must show realized gains or losses of more than $2,500 for options or $5,000 for shares. We want to see the actual trade. What you got in at, what you sold at. Then tell us why you did it. Give us the story of why you're a fucking genius (or idiot). This is what a great post looks like: [$17.2K Gain on AMZN](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/wb5m4o/not_too_shabby_172k_gain_amzn/) - OP described his gain in the title, has a clear screenshot showing both the entry and exit, meaning his gains were locked in, and they explained their reasoning in the comments and what they learned. All around a great post! Here are examples of what could get your post removed: * [$300,000 SDC Loss. However, the OP could have talked about *why* they entered the position in the first place, what their target price was, and what went wrong. OP didn't stick around in the comments to answer any questions. * [$1.1MM Loss, No details](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/lxm6wt/hold_me_1100000_loss/) - OP simply posted a screenshot of their overall portfolio balance. It's definitely a big loss, but it's not that interesting without OP talking about what trades they were in and why. I owned several hundred shares of AMZN back in the 90s. Doubled my money and sold.
Remember that time AMZN pumped 10% on earnings then came down 15% from the peak by EOD the following day? That’s TSLA right now.
Only AMZN has ever been successful keeping its share price elevated after spending every single penny of cash flow.

boomer here... my investments over the years are AAPL, AMZN, TSLA, WD, XOM, LL, NVDIA, pretty much followed MotelyFool for 3 decades. I have no paper stock, and lived through the dot com...
30 up over 9 down? This isn't META or AMZN we're talking here...
Biggest move up, right? I’ve been burned by Costco, TSLA, AAPL, AMZN before ![img](emote|t5_2th52|31225)
At current prices, PANW SNOW TSLA. COIN STOCK OR BTC (I think crypto will do well). GOOG MSFT AMZN for big tech. But like others said indexes are just easier
DCA daily into blue chips.. $10 to VOO, $5 to APPL, $5 AMZN, $5 MSFT etc then choose a couple speculative stocks to DCA into like RKLB/ASTS/RIVN. Slow and steady with a foundation of proven strong stocks with a weighted ETF
AMZN lagging the other big tech is confusing to me. granted it was relatively strong through the drawdown last week, but it should still be on par with an e.g. MSFT level rise today. ... what does the market know, that I do not????

Market is violently green while AMZN treads water. All is back in balance in the world.
Why is $AMZN flat today?
What's going on with $AMZN today? They beat earnings 100% of the time, so I am just curious why the shorting.
Someone in here is definitely balls deep in AMZN calls while looking at all this green
surprised the market keeps selling off AMZN.

Who started the AMZN / GOOGL divi rumor??
AMZN prolly won’t but I could see google doin it
some rumors on cnbc today about one of either AMZN or GOOGL following META by announcing a dividend. ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4276)
3 will go down, 3 will pop off... I'm betting AMZN and GOOG/L go up... MSFT, AAPL and META all drop 5-12% ... I don't count TSLA in the 7 but it's going to 120 by Friday.

Still not selling](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/wpm9am/over_300000_unrealized_loss_sdc_not_selling/) - Even though this is a tremendous loss and something worth posting about, **the position hasn't been closed yet**. Here are examples of amazing posts which could have been even better: * [$75,000 DDOG Loss.](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/unsrey/loss_porn_ddog_call/) - This is a great post and one that won't get removed. You laugh I made 100k in a day. Got fat premiums more this time 2 years back especially TSLA and AMZN. I never said I did for NVDA read quit adding shit that's not there in your head. Also people usually roll them week after week and stagger. Stick with your mutual funds.
They don't always - AMZN had break even earnings for a long time because they were investing their profits, and Wall Street propped them up a plenty.

TSLA has a reason to be down, not touching it. NVDA is fairly priced so long as they keep meeting guidance and they will. GOOG also looks juicy. AMZN overall bullish but I’ve been meaning to look into whether the flood of cheap Chinese imports Yellin is bitching about will hurt them.
NVDA selling was so dumb and uncalled for META and AMZN said they will buy every single chip produced. Earnings are only limited by their ability to produce them fast enough
There're stocks that bottomed in June 2022, not Oct 2022 when the index bottomed. The fact that Tesla is not far from its bottom, which we know was a momentary FUD and had nothing to do with fundamentals, despite earnings and revenue much higher than 2022, means it's objectively a better stock than where it was in 2022, and certainly a better bargain than MSFT, AMZN, or any of the magnificent 7 excluding Apple since it has a lot of negativity priced in already. You want to squeeze in another 5% downside or whatever, go ahead. I'm not gonna claim it's not possible, but it certainly isn't worth the risk of missing out on 30%+ upside. But remember the bears go bankrupt from being too greedy and waiting for another 1-2% pullback, and stocks can bottom and bounce from 0 positive catalyst. Sp500 bottomed the morning CPI came in extremely hot and bounced 5.5% intraday. At some point when all the negativity have been priced in, stocks bottom and bounce.
yikes. That is pretty shit. But I just wonder if a stock backed by a sales contract for AMZN will go that low. Not saying it won't. Just wondering. I have no skin in this, and I hope your tendies print!
$2.5? Aren't they making AMZN vehicles? That seems very aggressive?
Because margin allowed me to achieve crypto-like losses holding AMZN in 2022! (Or rather because margin is the only way I'm getting that money back. That or 0dtes and those are worse.)
