TLDR: I discovered 0DTEs later in my trading experience which led to being the final nail in the coffin. I made some decent gains with crypto. My first big loss was Elon's tweet and my biggest gain was LCID calls which were 1.2k in profit

Mentions:#LCID

My first big loss was from trading LCID calls which expired a 5 days out. I was up +20% until Elon Musk made a tweet which sent TSLA competitors to shit for a few days. I was down 1.7k within 24 hours so I sold then bought puts next market day which gained me $700 in just 3 hours. I quickly sold it there without looking back, at the time I was shocked to recover some of my losses so quickly. During the weekend I discovered 0DTE SPY contracts which I watched at least 2 hours of videos on. The thing is, saying your going to do something is easy, but when in your in the moment and you see SPY moving up and down a dollar at a time it gives you a sudden impulse to trade to avoid FMO. This what I'd later discover to be the nail in the coffin on my trading experience. I originally planned to have my TP at 50% on a 0DTE contract and SL at 25%. When Monday came I bought 3 SPY 0DTE calls and was up 20% but later throughout the day it just moved sideways. At the time I had a wistful concept on what Theta was, and as you may have thought, not only did SPY go down later that day but I held all the way to 1pm from open which made me lose -30% on the contract which was about $500. I don't remember when, but at some point I gained $200 on 0DTE SPY which motivated me to continue. Anyways, after this loss I saw that reddit was yapping about crypto and saw that Shiba has rose 30% the past month. I got in on Shib at .000018 with 1k then held to $200 profit on that Friday. I then opened Shiba charts to try to look for a pattern. I eventually found out that Shib peaked at 4am every day which I tested multiple times and was successful. During that weekend I was able to make $440 by just trading crypto, but I stopped after the following trading day opened. I thought of the crypto gains as a little reward I got out of the pump and dump. After that, the next 2 weeks were just 0DTE options, I had ups and downs but I had a tight TP but a loose stop loss which led to my downfall. It's funny looking back on it because if I were to have bought those same contracts a week out I would have had some nice gains. The last 2 weeks of me trading was me realizing my regarded mistakes, that's where you see those two small bumps at. I was doing somewhat fine until SPY crashed causing my calls to become near worthless. Q: Would you ever go back to options? A: No, I've stated numerous times that I was more consistently profitable from just buying and selling shares. I'd go further in depth about this more but I'm at work Q: How does your loss affect your life? A: Despite me losing over 3k it hasn't affected me financially much because I can make that back in less than 3 months, but it has GREATLY affected my mental health which I am still continuously working towards improving

Don't quit yet - you still have JMIA, LCID, and 2 other options expiring this week!!

Yes. Switch to betting on horses. At least then you can call it what it is - gambling. You cannot spend a moment looking at the "what if" or comparing your investments to others success, as I can tell you almost _everyone_ who posts about their wins is not honest about their losses. Just throw your money into a fund and forget about it. Stop obsessing. You sound like you are making yourself ill, if not already ill. Understand that there is no golden method, no trick, it's a casino and the house always wins. Private investors like you are ripe for the picking, you are heavily disadvantaged as you have no insider knowledge, you cannot trade out of hours, you cannot pull half the not-so-legal tricks big investors pull. Your micky mouse spreadsheets are nothing compared to the tools at the disposal of big firms. Hell, big players physically move their servers to make them microseconds faster on trades. You brought a plastic butter knife to a nuclear war. You will get rich by luck, and luck alone. How much cash could you have earned with a second job instead of wasting those hours with your spreadsheets? Either keep the "investing" as a hobby with money you can afford to lose, and get into your head any money you make is not real until it is withdrawn and in your bank, or throw your money into managed funds and just leave it. I played a fund game a few years back. I put £100 into a stock (Aston Martin). I had a rule, when it went up by more than 20%, pull it and find another investment. After 100 trades, that £100 would be worth a LOT. I got it all the way up to £22,000 in the end by playing this game and keeping my eye on the fact that until I withdrew it, it was only worth £100, the rest was house money. I was following WSB and making all those dumb trades, but using my rule it worked. I got emotional and held CCIV (now LCID). I rode that all the way from $64 a share to whatever it is now instead of sticking to my rule. I was pissed at myself, but that investment was only ever £100. I cashed it in at £1200 when U wanted to buy a house and needed every penny I had. Nice story right? What I didn't tell was I FOMO'd another £4k into LCID close to the top and then FOMO'd another £300 into GME hoping to catch a dead cat bounce and recoup my losses. My point is dude, be careful of the Gambler's Folly. You are in way too deep here. Step back, go outside, touch some grass... this shot will consume you and your money, and guess who wins and gets to spend your money?

Well, it is what it is right now. If an attack happens I’m gonna try to sell asap once the market opens and take the loss. If not, I feel that NVDA and possibly AAPL have a chance to break even or gain. Not too worried about GOOGL and LCID since they were only a couple dollars anyway. Debating back and forth on what else to set up for next week. Right now I’m thinking, if Iran attacks, then SPY puts again. Otherwise the AAPL call set to go after their earnings report.

I started investing two months ago. Invested $2700 so far. I’m making $109 a month with a growth stock. Don’t waste your time on dividends if you just started investing. I recommend selling cash secured puts and covered calls on small market volatile stocks. You can make a better return on your investment than you would waiting for a dividend every quarter, since you can sell these options every week. Here are some of my recommendations. BITF, LCID, APLD, RKLB. Here are some that are not startups. AMC, NYCB, BB. Always look for more opportunities. Like for instance if a $10 stock falls to $3. PLCE has potential and possibly RIVN.

He should go all in on LCID. Going straight to moon and he shouldn't miss out.

I am holding LCID but if you're looking for a return anytime soon I won't recommend it. I don't see it turning anytime before 2026 imo. My reasons for holding are as follows, which might resonate to some who are looking for a long term cheap stock to hold as it trades under $3. \- TSLA build quality. While I don't own one I've seen enough to not like it. \- LCID does have superior tech based on my research. \- LCID hopefully with time will be able to get their price point competitive and then it definitely get an advantage. \- The much awaited 2024/2025 SUV will be probably the turn around point. \- The Saudi contracts is a good backup to have which bring investment capital in times of need \- The year has been bad for EVs all around, so prolly it does not look too bad for LCID. \- There is going to be an investment shift from TSLA imo and the 2 probable candidates are LCID and RIVN. \- LCID cars are way more cooler, that's again my personal opinion but good enough for me to hold it. yes, I manage them out myself. and the fluctuations, so for instance, I sold all the nvidia at around 940 and will be buying some of it back around 870s and lower. in this case I made about 2,000 on that trade pure profit, I'll take about 1000 of the profit along with the initial cost and buy more nvda and the orher 1000 on other investments. more was lldo this same thing with burry, and utilize the profits to buy other things so I can get stuff I also personally want (like LCID, and a few other things for long term portfolio. whilenstill being able to have the benefits of pelosi and burry growth. I find overall it's better than even having the paid program, as it just buys more of what they have. this may only be my preference, but as I also trade for a living I get the best of both scenarios

Not a single person in here has responded with any real information. I'm not sure whether that's signs of Orange man bad syndrome or people just being financially illiterate, but its quite amazing really given the size of this Subreddit. Nobody officially valued this at 6 billion. The Spac ([Blank check company](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1849635/000110465921111753/tm2124624d5_s1a.htm)) raised \~300 million. At completion of the merger between this company and Trump media group or whatever they're called, Trump himself held 57.3% of the public shares, public holders held 21%and the remaining \~22% was held by say transfer agents/underwriters, board members, etc. >**Immediately after giving effect to the Business Combination, there were 136,700,583 issued and outstanding shares of Public TMTG Common Stock, which includes common stock held by Digital World stockholders, ARC, former TMTG stockholders, shares issued upon conversion of TMTG Convertible Notes and shares issued upon conversion of Digital World Convertible Notes** Now as linked above in the Prospectus for the blank check company you can take shares outstanding x10.00 + warrants outstanding x redemption value = money raised for the blank check company. This number is pretty easy to find (\~300million) but we need to know how much of the company they are going to acquire. If it was 100% of the company then the company would be valued at 300million. It appears Trump held 57% of Trump media group, and the public (SPAC) held 21% at a quick glance. I didn't feel like spending any more time educating people who just want to yell at the sky so my estimation below is just that, an estimation. Take 300million (21% x 5) and we have roughly 1.5 billion, a tad high. Or you can take the outstanding 136million shares x 10.00 giving us roughly a 1.36billion dollar valuation. Now take the current share price and multiply it. 1.36 billion x 5 (50 dollars a share, 5x higher than 10 dollars) and we have a valuation of roughly 6.8 billion, which is whats listed currently on Robinhood. >As of the Closing Date, (i) President Donald J. Trump beneficially held approximately 57.3% of the outstanding shares of Public TMTG Common Stock and (ii) the public stockholders of Public TMTG held approximately 21.9% of the outstanding shares of Public TMTG Common Stock. This is the short version, You'd really need to dig through the prospectus and [8k/10k to see who holds what shares, what notes are redeemable, what warrants are exercise-able under what conditions, etc](https://www.bamsec.com/filing/114036124016719?cik=1849635). Because this is a meme stock with a relatively small float it became valued at 6 or 7 billion, Trump and the underwriters/backers valued this at roughly 1.3billion. Outlandish? Yeah. Insane? Not really compared to some of the other lavish valuations we've seen for SPACs in the last 4 years. Take a look at.... * SPCE * NKLA * HYLN * LCID * RIVN * GOEV * STEM See a pattern? Did anyone scream it was Russian Vatniks and Saudi oil money that ran those companies up when [LCID or Rivians valuation swelled to over ONE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/lucid-road-100-billion-market-222229963.html) while also losing money? (Funny because LCID was literally backed by the Saudis) Is this a pump and dump? Sure. Is it some grand conspiracy? I doubt so. Had nobody turned this into a meme stock Trumps shares would be worth \~650million. Given his "popularity" and name brand running into an election I'm sure you'd find people willing to give a company like that some backing with twitter being a pile of shit.

I think AI is just one facet of Apple. It is doing what Meta does for virtual reality, it is competing on financial alternatives with HYSA and credit card. The only space it has moved away from is the car building exercise. That is a capital intensive risk anyways, both LCID and Fisker failing have proven that. Reliability is hard. One time achievements anyone can do by throwing enough money at it.

Creating a SPAC isn’t blatant fraud, nor is this unique. Are you new to the markets or just here cause Trump bad? This spac was created during the SPAC craze of 2021. https://www.spglobal.com/marketintelligence/en/news-insights/latest-news-headlines/spac-ipos-deals-fell-in-2022-73994241 This SPAC valuation being asinine is no different than the hundreds of other SPACs that got listed and took companies public at stupid valuations. Look at SPCE, NKLA, HYLN charts for me. Now look at LCID, RIVN, GOEV, STEM. See a pattern? Now are all these fraud, Is there a pattern of you posting 50 comments in threads related to those companies or just this one? People are buying this shit and driving up the valuation on paper, but it’s not like he’s earned 7 billion dollars ffs.

Took positions in TSLA LCID and RIVN this week. All I keep hearing about is what a terrible year 2024 is gonna be for all EV. Figure at these prices I can probably wait a few years.

AMC, SOUN, LCID, and DJT are all shitcos. Sell them. Even Lucid — beautiful cars, but they won’t make it. If Soundhound is the real thing, you can wait till they stop bleeding cash and still make a lot of money. SOFI is a real business at least, but payment apps are in a commodity business and don’t have the upside everyone assumes. The rest seem fine. I just want to make sure you know why you own them.

I think it’s not a bad port - but get rid of $DJT, $SOUN, $AMC, $LCID. Outside of the Mag7 stocks, maybe consolidate, for instance between Costco, Honda, McDanalds, and Chipotle.

Looks good! I just don't think that LCID is the move nor has it been. Otherwise, you should be set for long term!

According to my list, we've got TSLA, RIVN, LCID, and FSR in a class of US EV makers. All the other guys are either Chinese or not totally dependent on EV production/sales (like GM/Ford). Tesla is in its own league. RIVN I'd be very bullish on, given that EV truck demand is high (see the latest news on TSLA and Italy), and they're ahead in that game. Finally, FSR is fucked. That leaves Lucid. They sell a great product (essentially a luxury Model S, or a tesla without the shitty interior, a common complaint), have Saudi money, and just received another billion from an investor. They're a prime squeeze candidate because *they're priced for bankruptcy* (like FSR), yet by every other metric, they're nothing like FSR.

Mentions:#LCID

Only thing is LCID dumped 50% already when the merger was just confirmed, but DJT keeps pumping even after ticker change

Mentions:#LCID

DJT reminds me of LCID merger. Its gonna pump now but the dump will come eventually

Mentions:#LCID

Idk but I have PTSD from when LCID was confirmed and that shit tanked 50% after hours

Mentions:#LCID

Yeah I don’t trade LCID really..think I dumpster dove 2000 shares when it dipped under 2.70. Trash stock imo. They lose a massive amount of money on every vehicle produced/sold. But your thesis may be correct far as buy out or at least partially far as the future goes

Mentions:#LCID

Yes because I’m still bearish on LCID. That b will be burned metaphorically

This is gonna CCIV/LCID it’s way into a big dump this week. That’s why my puts haven’t evaporated, with a stable IV of like 250%

I was being tempted by a Dead Cat Bounce on Fisker. But LCID could be a safer bet, and actually might make it.

i dont understand how to read greeks correctly but I noticed that LCID option price is not responding fast enough to LCID stock movement. What greek dictates this co-relation exactly ?

can someone explain me LCID history and how we can play this?

LCID is way too flat for my comfort.

LCID is losing money on every car they make. They plan on making up for it in volume.

LCID What the fuck

Mentions:#LCID

Agree. However, how many of you have actually driven one? I have and if I could afford it I'd get one, it's absolutely wonderful. The Saudis know good cars when they see one, I mean they've been buying luxury cars forever. I won't bet the bank on LCID but will buy a few hundred shares.

Yea, expected value at like $12-14 in 2026 which is probably pretty accurate lol. OP and others could be right though and company could be worth $0. Every SPAC I invested in I typically took profits before merger and it was right decision every time. LCID dumped hardcore the longer you waited after the initial jumps and now sits at $2.75. GOEV dumped and reverse split starting at $10, going to $20, to now $0.18 (split adjusted).

CCIV/LCID had almost an identical pump to this and then totally cratered

**Insight on Me:** I’m 18, im in flight school so am looking for i guess shorter term profit as it’s really expensive. I also have part time job. Based in Ontario, CA. At some point, I’ll be investing in VOO but for now, I’d like to get used to the market. Also, bi-weekly I’ll be buying more shares dedicating a part of my check to it. What do you think of making this investment through wealthsimpe? I will invest 300 CAD - 221.39 USD Buy 10 Air Canada = leaves me with 187 CAD 187 CAD - 138.2 USD Buy 3 BN = leaves me with 10.1 USD Buy 3 LCID leaves me with 1.7 USD

Why pick LCID? This same philosophy could work (or not) for any stock. Grabbing something spiraling down the toilet is usually not a good idea, especially as a first investment.

Thirty cents doesn't seem like a lot until it is. There's no reason you should spend $2700 on a company that *could* do well when there are companies that *are* doing well. You're looking for short term profit, but as there's no range of how short term you're looking, you may be better off with an index fund or a more established name. I'm not going to tell you what to pick, but what you're doing here is less akin to investing and more akin to trading or gambling. At this point in your life the best thing you can do to make more money is simply to work more, and let your money compound over time - buying LCID just to sell after a gain of 10% may not be worth the stress, or the potential for loss that you think it is.

I literally just turned 18 this month and been wanting to get on stocks via Wealthsimple. I’m aware there’s lots of strategies on how to invest. Lucid (LCID) At some point in 2021, it was around 50$ per share, due to market enthusiasm and. Lucid's "blank-check" merger and future promises. Yes, I am aware that their high of $50 in 2021 reflected the market's optimism at that time, and it didn't necessarily reflect the company's current earnings or production capabilities. However, people saying they might face bankruptcy in the next decade but even that I see it hard to achieve because they are partially owned by the Saudi Public Fund. Also, I believe they supply EV engines or something similar and they signed a ~470mil deal with Aston Martin. → Currently, the challenges they need to overcome are: production issues, a crowded EV market, and cash burn. Now this is my scenario. SCENARIO: If you buy 100 shares of Lucid at $2.70 or less, and you sell at a minimum of $3. That is at least 30$, for 1000 shares, that is at least 300$ profit and it just keeps following the pattern. Obviously, it’s not guaranteed it’ll go up, but I just find it so hard it won’t go up by at least 30 cents. I could also keep it long term to mitigate the short term volatility. *More Insight on Me:** I’m 18, im in flight school so am looking for i guess shorter term profit as it’s really expensive. You regards chasing this DWAC trade are forgetting that mango's base has already thrown their life savings into all things mango so they're out of powder and at this point well more than half country wouldn't touch anything he's a part of with a 10 foot pole. You need mass adoption for this moon shot to work and he doesn't have mass appeal ... this will be the LCID trade all over again ... if you're lucky. But by all means, saddle up & lose your money. That's why we're here after all.
