Well I'm put off by the question if there's a value in the strike price being $4 higher.... Like SOFI isn't gonna blow up and shoot off to $15 you think?? Then why would $11.5 call be better? If SOFI stays anywhere under that by 4/26 you lost all your $$
You WANT it to be above YOUR strike price YOU chose. SOFI at $7.5 = no Bueno. SOFI at $8 = Bueno. Because you own an option contract at $7.5, so again whoever EXERCISES the contract can profit also, and make the 0.5 difference per share. YOU are just buying the option contract, not the SOFI shares. Get it?
Doing the right thing in the the sense of diving into options and learning from his mistakes and seeking answers for his questions. I’m sure he is using YouTube as well… there is nothing wrong about coming here to ask questions. Buying 15 contracts could be Pennies to him for all we know. He can always sell the contracts on Thursday or Friday, SOFI has earnings on Monday and they are expected to beat on earnings. So we will see a run up this week…So he will be able to sell at a profit, assuming no external factors come in play.
If SOFI goes above your strike price, even better. It means whoever purchases your option contracts can then buy SOFI at your strike price, and sell it at current price for profit. That's where the value of it comes from. YOU'RE taking the bet and paying the original $90 to bet that SOFI will be above your strike price. IF you don't sell that shit on 4/26, whether it's negative or positive it's worthless. The closer you get to 4/26 the more /thetagang is fucking your ass. But that's for another post mang

Hard to say for sure but if it was me I would dump them. I was bullish on SOFI until this latest CPI print ruled out a rate cut and now the entire banking sector is down. I think the stock could go either way at earnings, but I would guess down is more likely than up, based on the decreasing chances of rate cuts in 2024.

Why is SOFI to $10 too much to ask for?
I’m fairly new to trading and 17 years old, I like to play stocks for er don’t really have a price goal in mind, if I’m down on my position I usually just hold till er and either break even or get killed, not a very good strategy as I’m typing it out. I bought FIVE after there initial drop from er because they barely missed yet dropped a huge percentage, I than profited from this position and bought the next dip. However FIVE is just going disgnoly downward and I really don’t know what to do with it, my main concern right now is SOFI and HOOD if these don’t destroy there estimated earnings than I am cooked

SOFI -more risk involved but good potential upside if they execute PYPL -to me, it feels like it's around bottom. I like the new C-suite SHOP -started a position, as it appears to have good upside potential. I've also seen them spending on ads, and that can be promising
Is there a specific headline related to AAPL and AI that happened in the last 3 days? If so, I didn't hear about it. I'm guessing some analyst raised their targets on AAPL or something, and that combined with it hitting $167 for the first time in a long time, lead to a nice rebound, and the momentum carried it to where it is now. But that's just me spitballing. I'm not an Apple hater or anything. They do have some good things going for them. I'd rank them in this order: 1. So many pensions, 401k's, etc, etc have ridiculous money in AAPL that if the stock were to dump like no other, it'd completely kill our economy. So, there's an incentive to now allow the stock to drop too far, because the damage would cascade throughout the rest of the market. 2. They have quite possibly the best management team in all of tech 3. They've made more of a pivot to making money off services than hardware, which is a smart move, because their hardware penetration is saturated. But, those are the only bullish things I can really think about in regards to Apple. They might have bought a shit ton of small AI companies, but that's basically wishing upon a star. It's like us buying shit like SOFI thinking it will save our ports. Their hardware sales are eventually going to taper off pretty hard if that hasn't already begun. Regular Joe Schmoes are being decimated by inflation and they're not going to buy the newest iPhones at the same clip. Apple Vision Pro is not going to save them AT ALL. I'm actually extremely bullish on the longterm future of the metaverse, vr and ar, but the problem is, it's a lot farther away than anybody is thinking. I honestly don't think the metaverse and vr/ar will truly matter for another 20 years. (if that) 40 years from now, the metaverse will be incredibly huge. Every single human being will be spending a tremendous amount of time using it, but the uptick is going to be glacially slow

Saw the headline re: MS investigation around whether they’re doing enough around client money laundering risk, and the subsequent drop. Sold off my SOFI position (about 10% gain over the past month) and some VOO, bought back into MS at $86.48. Sold 4/26 90 strike calls for .95/contract, just over 1% vs underlying basis. Not bad for a 2 week contract. Earnings are 4/18. This is my third swing trade entry into this stock over the past year. I’m $0.03 over my last basis per share. I’m very familiar with the company, and perfectly happy to hold at this basis if it moves against me. The Div yield is 3.9% at my basis, and options activity on the stock are decent. As I type this, I’m +.63% on price, 1% on premium, after about an hour.
The hedgies have been shorting the hell out of it, and there's been tons of FUD. Interest rates are also a bit of a concern to many, but they won't stop SOFI from being very profitable -- just not as profitable as they could be. SOFI has been a good consistent pump and dump play during earnings. The problem is it's difficult to predict at what point the stock will break through the constant shorting if looking for big long term gains. Should only buy in its lower ranges and be ready to wait for a long time.
