Draft Kings and Nikola started the craze in early 2020. Spacs like Tattoo Chef and burgerfi had people's interest too. Then all the EV stuff started happening. While there was a little shake up from the Nikola truck rolling down the hill scandal. That allowed perfect buying opportunities for the real run ups and where it started getting real crazy and peaking in Dec 2020-Feb 2021. That's when Quantumscape went nuts. Chargepoint was like 50$ Xl fleet was 30$ Romeo Power 40$ the rumors were flying with Lucid. Sofi announced, Proterra announce, Lidar stocks were flying. People were saying Stem was a deal a 40$. If you weren't making over 100% on your trades then it seemed like you were doing something wrong. Spac without even hints of deals were 12-13$ if not more. Then the day that Lucid actually dropped the DA was the beginning of the end. Luckily I saw it coming and got out keeping about 80% of my gains and got back in with IPOF/D once it fell back under 10$ and hoped for the longest time it seemed. Dwac gave a little resurgence with a handful of right winger stocks. I remember seeing DWAC at 11 and thinking it was not worth losing 500-1000$ if I did my normal 500-1000 shares. Still kicking myself about that. Granted, I doubt I would have ridden it all the way to 150$ but still would have made a good chunk of change. I still believe spacs are due for another run. Whenever we get out of this bear market and a couple big IPOs happen, companies are going to start wanting to get in quick and Spacs are the best way to do that.

I wish I knew what I know now about spacs. I wish I never met the guys on discord that were promoting IPOD and IPOF. I lost a lot of money!! But I guess it was a hard lesson to learn. Much better investor now.

They all technically "pass" the extension vote itself, but sometimes redemption's are so high that a sponsor opts to liquidate instead of taking the extension with barely any trust funds left. IPOD/IPOF asked for an extension last yearyear and then decided to liquidate instead, there are a bunch of examples like this.

I literally lost my entire investment in IPOF so yeah, the risk is kind of there. No need for any blind hopium. Warrant bid ask spreads are so large/low volume, that it's probably not going to make any sense to buy these until the SPAC market gets somewhat got again (if it ever will).

It is the NYSE, don't think NASDAQ has done anything similar (yet?). Just guessing, but it looks like the NYSE lower limit is around one cent per warrant. when sorting through the pre DA warrants out there, it's important to note that the premiums on some of them mean nothing. we've seen IPOF, IPOD, VYGG, and LMAC liquidate while being multiple times more expensive than other warrants that actually got deals. nobody knows anything and we're all buying in the dark. godspeed

IPOF warrants were still 0.5-0.6, but maybe that was just an outlier. If there is a decent DA you would need to hope that commons go up a bit too (I know not likely right now). Maybe better to hedge with $10 calls and hope for vol expansion on DA.

Sorry to those that lost on warrants - to be honest, I actually played IPOF/IPOD warrants in 2021...Was up on some trades, down on others - probably ended up being net even, or had a slight loss. Actual acquisitions didn't even matter with these plays, as random market fluctuations could give you huge gains.

I'd be better off if I never heard of spacs lmao. They seemed like auto double ups or triple ups and it gave me the confidence to gamble more than I should of. Never held through merge and never had pre DA target. I broke those rules with IPOD/IPOF and held mvst through merge thinking it was the next QS. Luckily my covid picks crushed it. But feels like I missed a huge opportunity and didn't even beat the market lol in the end. Lot of lessons learned and it humbled the shit out of me. Plus I lost the concept of money. Felt numb to negative 5 digit days.
