Anyone know if I need to call to liquidate TACA/U or will it happen automatically for unit holders since they’re redeeming everyone? The docs make me think it’s automatic.
Seems folks might want to be extra conscious if there is an extension vote coming up, the SPAC doesn't have a DA or LOI, and the sponsors haven't agreed to add a contribution to the trust if the extension is approved. That's what happened with TACA. That's a sign the sponsors aren't willing to risk any more of their capital, and likely don't have any deal in the works.
after the taca liquidation news, I'm surprised to see warrants fof other spacs with extension votes coming up hold up so well. That was really shitty of you, TACA. you could have extended and found a shitty target at least. it's a better look than giving up, I promise you that.
TACA sponsors were not offering any contribution to the trust if a six month extension was approved at the meeting scheduled for tomorrow. The sponsors did not want to risk any more of their capital, it appears. Evidently the redemptions were high enough that they decided to liquidate.

I would think that what you're saying applies to SPACs with targets. TACA is less than 3 months from their deadline with no target. They'll have to get an extension or dissolve. Do you feel like there's a lot of spacs that announce targets 2 months or less before deadline?

Is it worth it to take a chance on TACA, with warrants at like 10 cents? Still a good team, maybe had something almost ready but ended up delaying the DA due to recent events ? I used to hold plenty of warrants but sold them all in December luckily, but now for a few hundred dollars could be a random chance.
I don't understand. Did TACA announce they are dissolving? I don't have TACA, but I do have some TINVWS that are almost the same age. I also don't understand what you're saying about 'created with less than 24 months'. From looking at all the recent price action, it looks like right now the good advice is to wait to buy warrants until they are only a few months away from their deadline. Not only lower prices, but less opportunity cost waiting to find out what happens.
Finally sold my MAQC warrants. Might need to sell TACA too. Lesson learned: don't buy warrants with deadlines less than 8 months away. Generally, just don't buy anything created with less than 24 months.
CFFE just got vote to extend 6 months yesterday with only 11% redemptions, But sponsor added $.2 to trust. I think many of us are wondering the same thing you are and don’t think we really know. Never been this many SPACs. I was planning on exiting some of mine after BTAQ but they all got slammed so hard maybe not worth it. I am in TACA as well so we shall see
So what percent of spacs ask for extension vote rather than liquidate? And what percent of the time does the extension vote pass? I'm thinking about TACA warrants and others. How am I supposed to know what's going to happen? Is the team silent on this?
For a spac like TACA, which is getting close to the deadline, when should i expect them to announce an extension vote? Several months before the deadline or several weeks?
TACA prospectus says they reserve the right to ask for an extension vote. Is it true that any spac can hold an extension vote?
Think that option actually is in TACA's [424B4](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1826991/000095010320023739/dp142215_424b4.htm) : "Except with respect to interest earned on the funds held in the trust account that may be released to us to pay our taxes, if any, the proceeds from this offering and the sale of the private placement warrants will not be released from the trust account until the earliest of (i) the completion of our initial business combination, (ii) the redemption of our public shares if we have not completed our initial business combination within 18 months from the closing of this offering, subject to applicable law, or **(iii) the redemption of our public shares properly submitted in connection with a shareholder vote to amend our amended and restated memorandum and articles of association to (A) modify the substance or timing of our obligation to allow redemption in connection with our initial business combination or to redeem 100% of our public shares if we have not consummated an initial business combination within 18 months from the closing of this offering** ... " Think that says TACA can hold a shareholder vote to amend their charter to extend for more than 18 months. If they do hold such a vote, shareholders must be allowed to redeem their shares, if they choose.
Pretty much any spac can hold a special vote to extend the deadline, even if that option isn't specifically in the original filing, correct? Any idea what percent liquidate on average? Asking for a friend concerned about TACA.
Man these just continue to shock me daily, some will obviously double from here but imo it’s not worth the risk. Saying that I’ve a lot of money tied up in some lotto ones like OCA, SCVX, ALTU, ETAC but I just don’t see any demand for these and a lot of these will be forced to settle for shitty deals which will result in no pop (god forbid no liquidations on the ones we are holding lol). So I just don’t see the appeal, I’m continuously having to talk myself out of buying in at these levels but give in once in a while I was looking at TACA yesterday and can’t believe the price today, crazy! I’m not sure in what capacity he’s involved but this spac has Brent Saunders associated with it I believe, I can’t see that guy having his name attached to a SPAC which liquidated but who knows. So when is the bottom on warrants? .02? .01? Do we need negative prices like where they pay us to take the warrants?? I'm definitely averaging down on some of these, but being very careful about deadlines. Some warrants are being pounded due to upcoming deadlines (TACA) whereas others are being punished for looking for a Russian company (KIII).
I’ve been tuned out for a bit so someone help me catch up. I’ve got some ESSC commons and got a notification about tendering soon - are we just getting extended again? BRPMW… seem super duper low… like deal termination low… any reason to believe it won’t go through? Still sitting on LFTR / IGAC / TACA warrants. Let me know if I might get BTAQ’d soon
TACA warrants at .23 killing me. They still got a couple months to expiration and could extend too. Based on expenditure, it's very likely they have a DA coming.
Warrants that are expiring in 6 months or less seem to have panic selling today. TACA down 20% on decent volume. The big problem I see is these post da warrants are selling off to below pre da levels. As long as those keep going in that direction pre da going to get cheaper and cheaper.

Anyone have any thoughts on TACA? I thought it was a hidden gem (of course, I was wrong) back when I bought last year, with some successful heads of Vodafine/Airtouch, ex CEO of Motorola, and Genesys and likely some good connections, looking for a telephony or communications deal. Warrants are down to 0.33, with a deadline of June. They had big spending last quarter, but wondering if I should take my losses and move on. (Though I know that yes, we should all cut our losses and move on from every pre-DA SPAC...)
There was some large volume days for GFX and TACA warrants in Nov and Dec. If these don't DA soon then wonder if they were attempting to make retail think a DA was coming given those warrants have sold off another 50% in a month.

TACA has huge expenses in last quarter, and a near all time high warrant trading today of over 100k. I’m actually thinking a deal may be imminent in the next week or two.
DMS and ORGN for deSPACs. ALTU, BREZ, BTAQ, & TACA for pre-DA warrants. Added a ton to these positions the last 2 weeks, nearly all were close or setting all time lows. I haven't had any luck for a while on commons nor options in any category for 9 months, all my success has come from pre-DA warrant pops & holding quality deSPAC warrants

My current pre-DA warrants I've been adding to or opening positions this week all close to all-time lows BWAC, & ALTU, BTAQ, DMS, TACA, & BREZ Looking for 1 more lottery ticket with a decent team close to all-time lows that won't make me wait 6 months for a DA or get too close to the deadline and make the warrants worthless

Not under .50, but TACA is at .57 and it has large expenses last quarter with a possible deal imminent , and decent team I believe.
GOAC had $1.7m in expenses, high volume and is close to an ATL at 0.72 TACA had $1.8m in expenses, decent volume and is also close to its ATL at 0.64
TACA high expenses and is 18 month deadline so june I believe.
$PNTM, $IGAC, $IMPX, $TACA All had massive expenses in the most recent quarter and are not too far from their ATL so still "cheap" enough for a DA pop
I have my fingers crossed for TACA with 1.8m in expenses and 60%+ way done. The commons have very low volume below nav so I don't think arbs control this one.
I still don't know if there is actually any correlation, but TACA had 1.8m in expenses last quarter and is I believe 60% of the way to deadline.

I posted about TACA in a daily thread [last week](https://reddit.com/r/SPACs/comments/qi6xd1/announcements_x_daily_discussion_for_friday/hijuxje/). It's one of my under-the-radar positions that I'm hoping will land a home run due to Brenton Saunders' involvement. TACA's been stagnant for a long time, so it's encouraging to see increased activity over the last week or so.
Fairly big volume in TACA at nav (350k)
Have been gradually building a position in TACA commons and warrants. >60% towards its June '22 deadline, but mainly interested in this one because Brenton Saunders (who spearheaded VSPR/SKIN) is on the board of directors. Hoping his expertise can open doors for the TACA team and help land a first-rate target.

What are warrant DA pops looking like these days? Are we breaching $1? Thinking of buying PUCK, TACA or CLRM warrants. All around $0.60 with decent management.
TACA. Very strong team, if you do the research one of the people doesn't fit the group. Seems like he has to be part of the spac for a reason.

For only pre DA: Don’t forget the European SPACs, with the two majors being GFX and TACA. Plenty more companies over there to choose from for those teams, that would like to be listed on NYSE. Check out the leadership for those two, absolutely stacked, and both under $1 warrants. I’d add in CPUH of course , and HERA, the big guns. One small overlooked one I picked up is FINM, it has leaders who headed up HP’s cloud division , and one who was head of Microsoft in NA.
I tend to look for warrants from serial sponsors even if they are more expensive. I managed to buy some HERAW and FTAAW around $0.9. They are more expensive now though. I also like NSTC and NSTD (guys that brought STIC and NSTB both decent targets) Also NVSA, TACA, LNFA, BWAC etc for slighly cheaper ones.
I like GFX, KLAQ, TACA, VPCBW when they are under .7
Honestly with low liquidity price fluctuations it changes on a daily basis and is also relative to price tier. I also have like 50 positions so I'm more spread out instead of concentrated and sell out of positions I like on pops to buy something else I like dipping. My biggest positions are PACXW, TACA-WT, PGRWW, CFFVW, CAS-WT, DLCA-WT, KINZ-WT, KWAC-WT (Lombard International rumor, in the .50s) and NVSAW.

Lots of interesting warrants that range, but most of them have run in the last week. Here are some that I've picked up that are still under a $1. DLCAW, CFFVW, KINZW, GFXWS, LNFA/WS, RCHGW, TACA/WS, THCAW, DUNEW, BITE-WT, KRNLW and a few that were under $1 when I bought that are now slightly above CND/WS, CFIVW, SVOKW
I’ve noted that we hold some similar under $1 warrants and while I hold one of the Pioneer Merger warrants, thanks for the heads up on PACX. While I have holdings in KINZ JOFF DHHC ROT, there are a number of others whose teams I’ve researched and I’ve picked up some initial holdings: ENFA ENNV LNFA EUSG HCII OPEW CPUH TACA PPGH TEKK Any thoughts on any of the above? TACA warrants are beaten down way too far in my opinion. Trading under .80c last I checked. The SPAC has a solid, high-character management team.
Yes, several I hold under a dollar with decent teams or target space: PPGH FINM GFX** CND DCLA ENFA ENVI EPHY EUSG HIGA** IMPX KINZ LNFA OPEW Then some others with maybe not as strong teams but with holding at this price: LJAQ TACA TEKK VIIA THCA
Which post-DA SPAC do you feel is flying under the radar right now? I'm going to do some portfolio shuffling tomorrow; selling TACA commons and considering FRX or another post DA. I'm already in THCB, HZON (ik, not technically post DA), and NPA.
I own positions in all of these, but my recommendation from the bargain bin: KWAC-WT 0.529 (Lombard rumor) DLCAW 0.58 (execs at Paypal and Adobe with lots of Fintech startup experience) ROT-WT 0.62 (Credit Suisse/BoA/UBS M&A execs) TACA-WT 0.65 (Vodafone CEO/Board of Charles Schwab/Cisco/Accenture, ex CEO Motorola, COO Qualcomm) RCHG-WT 0.69 (Execs at Marathon, Flying J, PriceCooperWaterhouse, Carmax) KINZ-WT 0.73 SVOK-WT 0.88 (Boxed rumor)
That's the thing - there are high quality teams trading in the .50s-.60s right now. ROT, DLCA, RCHG, KINZ, TACA, TMTS, GFX are all legit imo. A $2 warrant has to get to $4 to double, predicting a stock price of at least $15.50 @ 11.50 strike. A $.60 warrant just has to get to $1.20, and some of those warrants were hanging around near there just a week ago, and have already been well over $2 before the crash. Given my point #2 than most post-merger warrants trade at least > $1 if not in the $3-4 range, the upside and downside ratios for $.60 warrants with a good team are significantly better than $2.20 warrants with a good team. There's no guarantee IPOD will pull a better target at better valuations than ROT or DLCA will.
Seeing TACA warrants fall below .80 cents today has me wondering how far the rest of my pre-da warrants will fall. Your boy finna get margin called, and I don't even use much margin

I’m using Vanguard’s “Trade stocks and listed securities” function. TACA is recognized but TACA+/TACAU/TACAW are all not recognized. Wonder if it’s some other option I need to pick.
