Yes, but the argument is simple. and does not need more then a simple argument based on a common agreeable idea... "Not all active investors can outperform the market for a long period of time". It simply is not possible. So for everyday investor WHO CARES if Lynch, Greenblatt, so and so did it. The question is, "Can you spot the NEXT person EX ANTE who can do it over their investing lifetime post fees, taxes, and inflation over the default option (passive index investing)?" Bogle did an analysis of active funds going against his now VFINX since its inception (1976 or so) to about 25 years later. So, REAL time forward returns. He compared it to EVERY single large cap active fund over that time period that existed (taking survivorship bias out). The was something like <1% of ALL those funds beat his simple VFINX by more then a conservative 1-2%/ year to cover the friction of active management. The above only makes sense... Bessbinder in his famous publication a few years ago found ONLY 4% of ALL stocks were responsible for ALL the return of the market since 1926 over treasuries. So yeah asking a active management to find those 4% of stocks AND know when to get in and out along with the market gyrations is asking A LOT. Really shocking folks nowadays could expect active management to work considering history has shown it NOT to work when information and technology was less available. T

I'd be cautious about ANTE and SOGP. They've both been short squeezed pretty hard, especially SOGP. For ZEPP, the price action has been very sketchy since the start of July and it's since gone up nearly 2000%. The price looks super manipulated, and yet it still keeps running up
Didn't do GEG but I had the same rationale for it as SIG and and C3is (SIGG). Depressed sentiment and the potential for a surprise. You kind of have to have a couple of them on to catch any of them. Thanks on ANTE, ZEPP, and SOGP - will check them out.
All three have crazy momentum on no news, small cap, sometimes hard to borrow, and have all the signs of being pump and dumps. I know ANTE is because its dont just that more than a couple times in the past
Just saw your other comment. Did you end up going long on GEG? I didn't even think of it until I saw it exploding AH on ToS. Right now, not much except for irresponsibly large short positions on ANTE, ZEPP, and SOGP. Might play out, might blow up in my face

$ANTE pumping like crazy since the middle of July on literally zero news. From less than $0.75 to around $3.50 in a little less than a month. This piece or junk will crash before the end of this week, I'm sure
Shorting is a valid strategy, but the cost of borrowing and therefore the cost of puts makes it a very expensive trade. You can always bet on management being greedy and fleecing retail investor, especially with chinese stocks. As for the sub being a part of the pump and dump, i highly doubt anyone here is connected at that level. Like with ANTE no one had ever mentioned it when I called it a month ago. Most of the shilling you see here is post-run up, by the unfortunate ones who get in too late and then hope there will be greater fools to pick up their bags....but that almost never works out as they expect. I learnt something new today. Sold ANTE at 20% profit. I've always scalped pennies and been burnt if I held longer (only exceptions are kulr, optt at 100% profit, which could've been 300%). The graphs for ANTE, RGC and CRVO are weird tho. Nothing but a clip over the last few months and often mentioned in this sub, but I didn't know this type of shit could happen too

It's definitely a SS as all its peers (HUT, SOS, ANTE, MARA, RIOT, HVBT) ain't doing shit.
Not to be confused by with a shitty budget airline. But I see much better horses in that field. HVBT, HUT8, ANTE, SOS, MARA, RIOT, really don't care about no green cert.

Are you taking about ANTE? I had a few shares in that for a few days. Only took a minor loss because I got out fast. Haven't watched it in a while so I don't know how it is doing but I think it just slowly deflates.

Im looking at ANTE, small cap company that is pivoting into mining. It is a long shot, but I feel like RIOT amd MARA had their runs already. I have riot and mara calls but to add more is too expensive right now.
My riot call printed today. 5 bagger will probably sell tomorrow. Trying to rinse amd repeat with smaller market cap ANTE, which is pivoting to doing some mining
Not sure about ANTE, but I’m in SOS. SOS is doing great but I’m cautious when holding Chinese stocks long term, ARB is headquartered in the UK
