Have a hard time not wanting to put most my 401k thru ADP into BTMKX. Seems strong and low risk, does anyone else hold this?

How’s BTMKX? It’s one of the maybe 50 ticker options available in my 401k through work that I like so far

There is a low cost S&P 500 index fund and international index fun. SSSYX - S&P 500 Index. Put 80% here. BTMKX - International Index. Put 20% here. The target date funds are a solid option for most people. The fact they have a good set of dates means most people are going to have a solid option. If you go with the TDF, I would recommend picking a date 10 years after your actual retirement goal date.

My thoughts: 1. State Street Equity 500 Index Fund (SSSYX) - Tracks the SP500, 0.10% fee. Very solid fund. Hard to beat the GOAT(SP500) when it comes to indexes you can track! 2. iShares MSCI EAFE Intl Idx K (BTMKX) - Tracks the MSCI EAFE (International) Index, 0.05% fee. You can sprinkle in a bit of this for some international exposure. 3. Fidelity Freedom Index 2065 Fund (FVIPX) - 0.06% fee. This is a "one stop shop" index target retirement fund. It holds 53% US stocks, 36% International, and 10% bonds. This allocation will slowly change until it's roughly 50/50 stocks to bonds in the year 2065. This is meant for people who want to 'glide' into retirement and just have the fund rebalance to bonds automatically. It's really up to your own personal risk profile, but considering this is your first full time job I imagine you're in your early to mid 20s. Had I know then what I know now, I'd prob do 80% SSSYX and 20% BTMKX if I was in your shoes.

I chose all-world ($BDOKX) over developed world ($BTMKX-equivalent) to supplement my baseline US holdings. I don't know which will fare better, but I like the idea of owning companies in more countries.
