No problem. I used to invest in VGK, FLGB, and FLJP before a financial advisor pointed out to me that VEA is basically a more diversified automatically rebalanced version of what I was manually doing with those ETFs.
I am resident for tax purpose, so, that corresponding rule will apply. I guess, my query is: if I purchase an ETF (such as FLGB), this would be an ETF in UK. How does the tax process work? I understand that I will need to settle the tax on the capital gain/dividend of FLGB in US, but do I need to file tax at UK as well? I assume FLGB is a US operated ETF of UK stocks. Hence, I am getting confused.
I am not USC, but I am resident alien. Probably a sili question, but I would ask: if I purchase an ETF (such as FLGB), this would be an ETF in UK. How does the tax process work? Emerging Market value stocks are the cheapest in the world right now. Am hearing Dalio and GMO advocating for investing in EM. Have half my portfolio in EYLD right now (though VWO may be more risk appropriate). Or you can buy the haystack with VEA and VWO and weight them as you see fit. Finally, have heard FLGB as great value (UK) and Singapore (ishares has a fund there) as a good hedge if the economy melts down. I don’t own either.
> FLGB I didn't know about this one. I learned from you today. Thanks!
This is a good idea, the joke is EWU is the international value ETF. Check out FLGB which is a lower fee option.
I have 6% of my portfolio in EWU to play a dropping dollar and cheap FTSE valuations. Might switch to FLGB as the expense ratio is lower.
