> The majority of posts (50%+) are bots That's simply not true. Both humans and bots (**on average**) suck at telling humans and bots apart, and most rely on unreliable heuristics (common phrases, em-dashes, speech patterns, grammar/syntax) at best, and simple disagreement at worst. There are some random places citing a "12%" on Reddit but that's not meaningfully substantiated either. The only one that could reliable tell if a text is generated by a *specific* model is the ones who have the model weights and inference code, which means OpenAI can detect GPT-generated text, Anthropic can detect Claude-generated stuff, etc. That's because you can try a bunch of configs and calculate meaningful statistics (perplexity, KLD, ...). There are other, less reliable ways too, and there are proper benchmarks for AI detection, but I can guarantee you most people and website don't use any of that. I'm in the middle of writing a report for Reddit's data value for AI, and I'm trying to approximate the percentage of slop, and let me tell you it's REALLY hard to just open a sub, look at new/best/top posts, and find AI-generated stuff. Not sure if it's because of moderation, sub selection, or actual frequency of slop, but I highly suggest trying it for yourself.
Id note the KLD 400 has outperformed the S&P 500 over most time periods. Most studies have shown simply having better Governance has lead to most of that, the G of the ESG.
