My ranger gets 29MPG (on a trip) and has 300 horsies. Unless you are plowing, farming, or hauling heavy stuff, go smaller. Had big trucks all my life until now. Hate that it sits so low to the ground. My brother has a Colorado jacked up six inches. He likes it but MPG is middling

I saw an impressive jump in MPG when I started using an ethanol-free gas…from 13.x to 17.x for in-town driving (2013 Highlander Limited fwiw).

There's no way this would make sense, right, given most diesel cars get decent MPG and the sales tax alone on a newer car would cover years of cost difference?

I bought a hybrid. Not for any of that shit but because it’s got more torque and horse compared to the equivalent gas model. The savings on gas is a nice bonus, averaging 38 MPG in an SUV is dope. CRV 2024

Ya think? I can tell you 100% that my EV costs a hell of a lot less to drive than my old VW Jetta that got 35MPG cost. Of course it doesn't protect me against indirect costs like the increase in food and goods due to transportation, never said or implied that it would.

Got your numbers mixed up. It's about up to 10% ethanol now. E85 pumps now usually spit out 51-80% ethanol so you really need a car with a flex fuel sensor and a computer that can properly compensate. Going from E10 to E50 reduced my MPG by ~20%. E85 is $2.85 in my area and 91 is $6. Your math is quite off... To think the average person can do the stoichiometry at the pump or install a flex fuel sensor like me is crazy. There are only a few cars on the market that come equipped to handle flex fuel from factory. So that part is right. Nobody, including you, has any idea how this stuff works.

Great ,read Trump is gonna cancel all the MPG minimum standards for American made cars,so that you will use More Fuel per mile traveled. Idiotic, Rest of world will never purchase American vehicles
