SRNE - was a cult biotech with huge following. They had a massive pipeline. Looked so good back then. I invested way too much and lost most of it. And wasted a lot of my life following all the developments & stock info every day.
I was a SRNE and SCLX shareholder. The story is long and complicated. SCLX owns 87% of SMNR, which just started trading on the OTC this week (though for some reason only a few tens of shares have traded) after closing a business combination with Denali (a spac deal). If I recall correctly, SCLX got a $200M bitcoin investment very recenty from an investor—who got $200M of SMNR stock in exchange. So apparently SCLX took $150M of it and put it into DVLT. Seems very bullish and DVLT is poised to take off. Let’s see how high and fast.
Been in this one since the IPO spun out of SRNE now on life support waiting for a heart donor but still has a ton of potential in that GMAB pipeline. Scilex was spun out to focus on non-opioid pain management phase 3 CT's with outstanding trial results and no adverse side effects to date. Non-Opiod as in Opiod Epidemic as in Physician Liability for prescribing narcotics with opioids like Oxy... if the non-opiod pain meds break through that decades long barrier and provide real pain relief then this is a global game changer. Extracted from the root of a plant grown in N.Africa, this known pain blocker has been tested by dozens of biotechs to achieve approval and commercial viability but all of them failed to get past phase 1 clinical trials. Scilex is in the second half of phase 3 clinical trials having met or exceeded the goals set by FDA for the first segment of P3 in 2023 before the parent company Sorrento Theraputics filed for Chapter 11 putting everyone into a holding pattern for 20 months. This week the merger between Scilex and Denali capital to form a new biotech focused on final NDA approvals SP-102 and SP-103 non-opiod pain drug candidates was confirmed by Denali BoD vote. The new entity will be called Semnur Pharmaceutical and Scilex shareholders will receive new shares of Semnur Pharma which will surely skyrocket after years of naked short selling. Warrants are up as a hedge for short sellers but can't be exercised until the stock hits $402.5 after 35:1 reverse split formerly $11 price target for the warrants to become valid. Today SCLX trades at $20 which is below a dollar pre reverse split and had reached a price of $10.50 before SRNE filed chapter 11. $10.50 x 35 is where we expect to be very soon @ $365 share. I'd say the $20 price today is a steal especially when we consider the float and the borrow rate for short sellers has reached a danger level of 35% putting Scilex/Semnur at the top of the list for potential SQ. Do your own DD. Diamond hands.
SCLX squeeze may also impact SRNE. Important to remember how the shorting of SRNE links to the original SCLX divs. Those open naked short SRNE positions as of the original SOR date for the SCLX div owed the SCLX div to those who bought SRNE. So, a SCLX squeeze could easily drive up SRNE.

One thing that people need to know is that Henry Ji is a hype machine. He’s been doing this “battle shorts” thing back before it was cool. When SRNE was $15, yeah of course it was overvalued and that’s when you sell. When it’s in the dumps like this, this is the time you buy because you know they are going to hype it up. Looks like SCLX is the play here and where I have my money but SRNE could move up in sympathy as well.
I’ve been all over the warrants SCLXW for over a year and am up huge on them. That being said, I haven’t sold a single one for two reasons. The first is the very real possibility of a significant squeeze. When a federal judge orders the top 25 brokers to produce share counts under oath, the naked shorting games are over. The SCLX dividend that SRNE issued created 8.4 naked short shares that need to be covered from a public float of roughly 2.5 million plus another 5 or 6 million warrants, many of which are owned by SRNE. The math is heavily in favor of a squeeze. If there is no squeeze because the crooks on Wall Street weasel their way around it, the company SCLX has a non-opioid pain drug for lower back pain that successful passed P3 testing and the company expects to initiate pre-NDA discussions with the FDA within the next few months. The drug has fast track status, the Biden Administration is desperate to reduce opioid deaths, and the US market alone is estimated up to $2 billion per year. The warrants are still dirt cheap and have 4.5 more years to be redeemed. If SCLX squeezes, I will make a bundle. If they don’t, the highly likely approval of SEMDEXA will also make me a bundle. Been following this very closely for several years. Of course there is risk since it is biotech but the threat of a squeeze is very real, not hype, and the future is bright even without it. Worth looking at.

Tripled my warrants in 2 days, warrants are now in the money when exercised. SRNEQ's SCLX assets will be administered by the SRNEQ bankruptcy court, but I see them unlocking some or all of it to pull SRNE out if bankruptcy. Medium/longer term SRNEQ has a major ($1 Billion) fraud case against Patrick Soon-Shiong (who many believe are behind the shorting) coming up in July, SRNEQ has several drugs in hitting milestones soon and SRNEQ also owns a majority of SCLX who has FDA approved products.
Quick synopsis for those unfamiliar with SCLX. SCLX was spun out of SRNEQ last November via SPAC merger. SRNEQ has been in a nasty court battle with a billionaire doctor and they have multiple lawsuits between them. SRNEQ has been unfairly shorted into the dirt despite having two drugs pending approval in China and being the majority owner of SCLX. Many people believe the doctor, Patrick Soon-Shiong (PSS) is behind the shorting hoping to destroy SRNEQ before their main court date later this year. That case is one in which the doctor is being sued personally for acquiring a promising cancer drug from SRNE and then killing it because it would compete against a drug he sold to Celgene. SRNEQ lost one lawsuit to PSS and they filed a voluntary Ch 11 to protect their assets. Meanwhile, in February, prior to the BK filing, SRNE awarded a dividend in the form of shares of SCLX to SRNE holders. On the ex-dividend date, approximately 60 million shares of SRNE were sold short so the short-sellers owed approximately 8.4 million shares of SCLX to the owners of the SRNEQ shares they were shorting. The dividend created 8.4 million naked short shares. The dividend shares as well as SRNE's remaining 52% ownership in SCLX are locked up until May 12th and the public float of SCLX is only about 2.5 million shares. There are an additional 4 or 5 million warrants SCLXW that are available but most are held by SRNEQ. Long story short, it appears that SRNE issued the dividend with the intention of creating a short squeeze. Their business had been unfairly targeted for years with naked shorting and they suspected the same was happening with their spinoff SCLX. Because the ownership stake in SCLX is SRNE's biggest asset in BK, and because SRNE believes that their largest creditor (a company owned by PSS) was shorting their asset, SRNE asked the federal BK judge to compel the top 25 brokers in the country to account for every single share of SCLX. The judge approved that order yesterday and today, SCLX and SCLXW have both rocketed in value as shorts are being forced to cover their shares. I expect margin calls to be coming next and please keep in mind, at least 8.4 million shares need to be covered from a public float of only 2.5 million SCLX and a 4 or 5 millions SCLXW, most of which are owned by SRNEQ. It's a far more complex (and fascinating story) than I have laid out but just trying to give a summary of the scenario. Long story short, it looks like the squeeze which SRNE has worked very hard to engineer, has started. My warrants have more than tripled in value today alone and many of us believe this is just the beginning. The math is quite clear - more shares need to be covered than are publicly available. I recommend keeping an eye on SCLX and SCLXW. If they continue to rapidly rise tomorrow, the squeeze will be confirmed. I won't sell a single warrant less than $20 and possibly not until $50. Not investment advice, but it's worth looking into.

I regularly trade options on biotech stocks. Just because IV is high relative to other stocks does not mean the IV is excessively high for *that* stock. Based on my cursory review, the IV on SRNE ranges from 150% to 200% based on the strike. You say you "don't think it's a bankruptcy risk yet." What are you basing that statement on? Check out their balance sheet from September of 2022: assets of 615 million, liabilities of 485 million, for a total equity of 130 million. But, of those assets, 251 million are goodwill. Quite simply, this company is upside down AND a biotech company. I know nothing about SRNE's pipeline, but frequently with biotech companies one or two products can make or break the company. A trial can result in bankruptcy or delisting. By way of example, I warned repeatedly about TCDA when it was at $11/share and people were going on about the "juicy IV." Their drug trial failed and now, approximately 4 months later, the stock has been delisted is trading as TCDAQ at $.03/share--a loss of 99.72% of the equity value.
Ok but are you telling me I can purchase 100 shares if SRNE for $93 and turn around and sell covered calls two weeks out for $100? Cause that’s a 7.5% no risk trade.
Where do you find that info? On my portfolio all I can see is IV rank-90%, current IV-166.67%, 52 week IV-98-174%, 52 week HV-53-136%. If SRNE moved from 1-3$ I'd be happy with my trade. I spend $94 for 100 shares, collect $53 premium, get assigned at $1. So for $94 I can turn it into $153. I'm going to buy more than that.
I like it!!! But vaguely can comprehend your analogy. So high IV is bigger risk and when bear wakes up its going to take a volatile swing! And in the case of SRNE, since it's in a downtrend that's a volatile swing down! So then IV is a indicator for potential future stock movement?
Iv rank represents the range of implied volatility, usually over the past 12 months. SRNE has a an IV range between 100% and 200% for options with 30 DTE. So 90% IV rank means the IV is currently closer to 200%. With 200% IV, a move from $1 to $3 over the next year would be considered a normal movement.
The company operates under 2 segments, SRNE and SCLX. There's also some sort of dividend that involves for 1 SRNE share you receive a certain amount of SCLX shares. You can't trade options for SCLX , only SRNE.

look... it seems you have alot in... if you call 35% of tutes "ALL in"... it would appear i have nothing more to share with you. I could dissect every point, but it would be to no avail for one who is unfamiliar with the power of the MM's and who relies on hopium of news...
