Yes, TWHIX sent out some [big dividends](https://stockanalysis.com/quote/mutf/TWHIX/dividend/) in the past couple of years. You could easily have seen a small net return even though the stock price has dropped. Those dividends should have been taxable in the years they happened, to whomever owned the account at that time.
