Here's some realistic criticism: those who believe that "Lightning scales Bitcoin" in an absolute sense are mistaken! We need to consider: * APO/CTV and other covenant proposals to make self-custody more approachable for the masses. * Ecash as a potential "layer 2.5 / 3" and thus an additional scaling solution * Figuring out creative ways to increase the pace of feature development on LN --> newcoiners will be turned off by not being able to receive payments offline, for example. Make no mistake that Lightning is awesome as it is but it may evolve to become more of a layer 3 as a connective tissue for various layer 1.5 or layer 2.
