I'm sure they did know about all of the issues. From what I saw, though, I thought they were genuinely trying to address them and, if they had enough time, they would have been able to, even if that meant changes to the core mechanic. There were definitely already people floating possible changes for at least months before it crashed, so I don't think it was super farfetched to think that. I wish they'd moved faster. I wish Do was less of a cocky ass. But I never felt like I was mislead about exactly what was going on and what the problems were. I won't be surprised, though, if they manage to convict him on either some arcane securities laws or about using fraudulent CHAI data to bring in investors.
