For example when Binance onboards a new coin, They keep/buy a percentage in their own wallet that they use to transact back and forth in small amounts (to themselves) to make the coin look like it has liquidity / trading volume. It takes time in the game to kick over all these rocks to learn how the exchanges work but exchanges know you (as investor) don’t want to buy into a coin that looks dead (trading volume) so they mimick this on their own end on the TAPE! It’s bullshit!
