I think the NFTs are here to stay, the problem is like what you said, the current NFTs on the market are really overhyped and worthless (utility wise). Take a look at what VIVID LABS is doing, a type of next gen NFTs that hopefully will be more useful on a regular real life scenario.
There are different type of NFTs. VIVID LABS is bringing some real use cases and new technology like multi files and multi formats updatable NFTs. (They are the ones powering Shopify new NFTs)
