Is there any actual news w the HCIC/Plus merger that's causing the warrants to spike, or is this just social media doing its thing, etc?

I will preface this with saying I am always wrong, but I feel pretty good selling between 0.20-0.22 today. This LOI pop is basically what recent DA pops have been. Unless an amazing DA comes, I think this is it. CCIV/LCID, DCRC/SLDP, HCIC/Plus we’re all rumor plays where waiting for the DA was the wrong move. Also CCV recently had a big pop on big volume with an LOI and is now under 0.10. I held PNTM for a real so am rooting for you but I didn’t have it in me to hold after going 0.90 to 0.02 to 0.20. Also I had a fairly large position so needed the liquidity today. Good luck!
HCIC liquidating. Massive bid at .06.
Yeah, used them in SF this past weekend. Car was kind of dirty but it was a Prius, got amazing mileage, and it was much better deal and better experience than renting a car the airport which was the other option. It felt like a cheap-but-decent Airbnb for a car. Would do it again in heartbeat. If I owned these warrants pre-Da I'd be excited! But HCIC (among others) has taught me that if you don't already own them you probably should not be buying them because it always ends in tears.
Any chance HCIC merges with anything or should I cut my losses in warrants?
That's fair then. I was mentioning them as serial sponsors. Yeah HCIC was plus ai : Chinese and pre rev.
It's not the first one. AUS and HCIC.
Well HCIC had a deal with Plus that they called off in November and HCVI IPOd around then so not sure the expenses are an indicator on these two.
HCIC... RIP my warrants. I'll miss them. i had such high hopes for Plus. Sad! 😡📯
There has been another one that I know of: HCIC and PlusAI. There it made more sense though as they attributed the cancellation to regulations outside US which they were trying to address by a potential restructuring.
Anyone still holding HCIC? I have a bunch of warrants I'm now bagholding, luckily cost basis is in the $1.20's. Feel like it's going to be a while to announce a new target and might jump to CPUHW or CRHCW instead
you could've asked the same thing about HCIC/Plus 2 months ago... (RIP my largest warrant position at the time🥲)
I’m here! Started with HCIC I think. Been a rough go and lots of ups and downs but still have a lot of faith and think R/R is solid here
I have few shares in all four I sold my HCIC / PULS last week when they announced termination of the SPAC agreement How can we get in PULS now if they are not merging with HCIC anymore??
This would be a good one. Maybe bring HCIC to explain themselves but they probably wouldn't. They hide when things like that happen.
well, it's 9 months later, & just off the top of my head: HCIC (Plus) , pretty high profile SV (Aerofarms) XPOA (Jam City)
>the risk of pre-DA warrants The risk of DA warrants. We've already seen it with HCIC, VELO, MUDS, XPOA, SV, MLAC etc
Not EV, autonomous trucking. Embark is one of the smaller ones and I prefer AUR but most of r/SPACs was focused on HCIC instead of either of those.
Price action yesterday was very string on the offer. There were literally only a couple hits on the bid. It feels like somebody wants it and it also fits a pattern that I have noticed in recent DAs. In general, I am a holder, I am speculating hard and hoping for the best. Got burned pretty hard with HCIC last night :(
$HCIC dreams dashed. What's a good next target, something low risk, sitting at nav?
HCIC, don't fall into arb trap, they purposefully keep the price low today knowing that everyone will bail asap. Look at MUDS for example, the deal is off and the commons price is 9.95-9.97. I'm personally waiting for it to be around 9.90
Yes, but the question now is whether that is the equivalent situation.. Meaning, maybe they're just saying this in the termination statement as legal cover, just in case they somehow end up going with HCIC after all (but that's not really what they intend to do right now); or are they actually planning on renegotiating with HCIC after they reorganize.
Got DGNS and HCIC calls and commons as 2 of my largest positions. Tomorrow is going to be painful
Dentist, work and BS. Just logged in and noticed I am a proud HCIC warrant bagholder! 👋🏻😭
The hand was writing all over the wall that the HCIC deal was going to fail. I learned how to read the signs the hard way when the ACEV deal fell apart. If the deal is looking iffy, bail. It’s not worth holding warrants for suspect deals.
*In light of recent developments in the regulatory environment outside of the United States, Plus is pursuing a potential restructuring of certain aspects of its business,* ***after which HCIC V and Plus may enter into discussions with respect to a potential new business combination.***
Well MLAC and MUDS even after they got cancelled, they traded roughly around 9.90, even more. You can now buy HCIC for 9.80. Seems like free money, no ?
>HCIC They are a serial sponsor and the warrants are from a 1/4 split in units. Below $0.8 they are pretty appealing. I am quite confident they will find another target. I am a bagholder with a terrible cost basis now tho.
I have no position in HCIC BUT IM NOSY AF What Happened to cause the merger to fail?
Though it rarely happens this is a SPAC investors worst nightmare. RIP holders of HCIC. Once you get your wits and bearings back, drill down and refocus, you got this.
>RIP HCIC warrant owners casual 40% haircut. RIP.
HCIC and Plus mutually agree to terminate merger agreement RIP my nov calls...
Anyone else eagerly anticipating a HCIC annoucement?
This will be highly competitive market with TSP (released earnings today), HCIC, and NGAB. I like the all so I am spreading my bet out over all of them. Good Luck.
I bought AUS and HCIC this week. Near $10, it's a very safe bet.
Looking at DCRC and HCIC. For BTTX good entry for a one-two day play - below $15? $20? RDBX ~2M float went to $25, this 1M float how far will go?
Flat as a board this week even though I added more tickers with hype. BRPM, HCIC, MAQC, BTWN do nothing, and this BTTX garbage (and boy do I mean *garbage*) gets lucky. I just can't hit a winner anymore. 😐
Yeah I bought HCIC warrants at the top and a month later I lost 80k. They are taking a Chinese company public and this was when China stocks went to shit
So I’m a huge Plus and HCIC bull and it’s been my largest warrant position for awhile and I was continuing to add. Took off this week. Curious if this is just a Twitter pump or more. Not sure the amount $ some of these people have and if the volume for the last 1-2 weeks is them or not. Or do they just find the ones with options and no volume to get the IV up and then sell those to get 50-100%?
Gentle reminder, the boat is leaving for HCIC. Warrants hit $2 today (was $1 a few weeks ago). Commons are still cheap at $10. Volume is picking up and we may see commons ramp up next days.
Been holding my HCIC warrants for months. Really tempted to buy more, since this price action is suggesting that the negotiations went sucessfully lol. Plus is a huge multibagger of a company imo
Any news on HCIC / Plus? Warrants and options have activity today (they've been renegotiating deal terms and are approaching the outside date).
HCIC commons trying to follow warrants and pop
HCICW is going crazy up. I bought some HCIC.
Lol I still lurk here some days but I’ve just been trying to limit myself and focus on school most of the time. I just figured that with the way shit has been popping recently maybe HCIC could too if they drop some good news at the right time. If not I figured max loss would be like .30/share if you really needed to get your money out and less if you have the time to wait
I am wondering if Schwab f-up my cost-basis. I bought 1,000 units of HCIC (getting 1/4 warrant per share). Post unit split, Schwab gave me a cost-basis on the shares of $5.53/share, but the cost-basis on the warrants is $22.12/warrants.
Any HCIC news? Warrants recovering nicely
Its not that binding. HCIC for example is in renegotiations for its SPAC deal and is now at a risk of calling off the merger.
What's going on with HCIC? I missed that apparently So glad I sold all my warrants at $1.70, I was in deep too.
Oh, and BIG FUCKING SHOUTOUT TO HCIC who fucked up the only decently valued autonomous trucking deal. THANKS.
No, not until I see good data on signal degradation issue; also too many players - tough to determine long term winner. I however am in the autonomous trucking - TSP, HCIC and RTPY as they use a combination of camera, LiDAR and radar.
hey dude are you still in HCIC? If i'm not mistaken you had a large warrant position, righ?
Well HCIC wanted to renegotiate with Plus for a lower valuation now that China stocks have been hit hard lately. So theoretically Plus may tell them to fuck off. Ideally, the likely worst-case scenerio is that the deal is resumed at the exact same valuation but who knows if someone's ego gets bruised and the deal is cancelled in these renegotiations.
What’s the risk on HCIC? I must have missed that news.
Would rather have gotten HCIC for Plus, but now that deal has some risk to do it
"Hennessy Capital Investment V in an 8-K filing said it will revise deal terms with Plus, a self-driving truck company. Any vote on the transaction will likely be delayed beyond the Nov. 8 “outside date” in the merger agreement. The SPAC did not offer specfics for the deal revisions, stating in the filing, “In light of recent developments in the regulatory environment outside of the United States, HCIC and Plus have agreed to enter into discussions to pursue a potential restructuring of the business combination.”
Who are they with? HCIC is with plus which could be a huge sector
Am I insane or are HCIC warrants insanely cheap
Am with you on the DNA before ticker change. Sold that and missed 30%+ upside on $63k of commons. Sold DCRC last Friday and missed a quick 4% gain on $20k of commons. But good news...I'm holding RKLY at $7.99 (it's below that), PIPPW at $1.00 (it's 20% below that) and some HCIC at $2.10 (it's 40%+ below that). I'm good at this game.
A whole bunch of them. TuSimple IPOd. PlusAI is in a spackey situation (HCIC). There's Waymo and others.
HCIC is my biggest position, definitely concerned about regulatory, but think upside is too big to ignore. Update today says they delivered the units to FAW to implement and increased orders. I would think they could still sell in China but risk is not being able to export the self driving data to US. But they also have the Amazon trucks in US they can get data from, so not sure how big of a deal it is.
LEGO (Algoma Steel). Shareholder meeting scheduled next month. HCIC (Plus), if it goes through. Parties are renegotiating deal preemptively to deal with any Chinese government concerns (but have not had any contact regarding potential issues thus far. Because of this, the merger will probably miss the original November outside date, per most recent SEC filing.
I’m liking it more and more the more research I do. Also raising a $250mill pipe right now appears to be a huge feat especially after Polestar only raised $250mill and had to discount it. Think it may have a hard time getting attention in US markets since I doubt the concept would work here, but if you go to asia this could be huge. So many scooters and be very beneficial to their environmental quality. Concerns over rev decline in 2020 and 2021 but they explain its mainly hardware sales (scooters) if you look at the subscriptions they stayed flat or increased which I think is where the real value is. Just gonna keep doing more research, but this should be my largest warrant position soon. HCIC is up there, but now worried, DCRN is best valued charger, but no pipe is concerning, DHCA if FreeWire comes true I think has upside, and GSQD is working on a large position and big fan of the backstop and share forfiet. But overall these warrants with deal, good pipe, and target seem like a great deal. Maybe should stop posting about it while I keep adding…
Saw that earlier. Im guessing there will be a valuation cut and maybe an out for HCIC in case the CCP interferes.
Just came across this somewhere about hcic: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1829455/000121390021049877/ea147930-8k\_hennessycap5.htm "As previously disclosed, on May 7, 2021, Hennessy Capital Investment Corp. V (“HCIC”) entered into a Merger Agreement and Plan of Reorganization (as amended and restated on June 19, 2021, and as may be further amended from time to time, the “Merger Agreement”) to effect an initial business combination (the “Business Combination”) with PlusAI Corp (“Plus”). In light of recent developments in the regulatory environment outside of the United States, HCIC and Plus have agreed to enter into discussions to pursue a potential restructuring of the Business Combination and amendment of the terms of the Merger Agreement and related agreements and, as a result, the consummation of the Business Combination will likely be delayed past the November 8, 2021 “outside date” set forth in the Merger Agreement. While HCIC intends to work in good faith with Plus and its shareholders to reach mutually agreeable terms for such a restructuring and amendment, there can be no assurance that the parties will be able to agree upon such a restructuring and amendment or, if they do, that the Business Combination (as so amended) will be successfully consummated. As of the date of this Current Report on Form 8-K, Plus has not received any inquiries or notices of investigation from any governmental or regulatory authorities and no permissions requested by Plus from a Chinese government entity have been denied."
Ahh right my bad, I like HCIC but fear China. Got lucky and sold my warrants after the Amazon news a few months back and was looking at re-entry worth these lower prices but I’ll probably wait until the deal officially goes through.
HCIC News https://twitter.com/spacanpanman/status/1442498068461408263
What’s everyone’s biggest long term position or hope? And by long I mean years? Personally HCIC, VOSO, ITAC, QSI, ENVX, IVAN, DCRC, ASTS, RKLY, and STWO. Pretty much all warrants tho right now besides QSI, ENVX, ASTS
Any news on HCIC? I want to redeem my shares
Does anybody know why HCIC/ Plus filing status hasn’t changed for a while?
and probably still don't have them for AURC, HCIC, SVOK and a few others I've been eyeing.
Trying to think of what fits this category, can you give some examples? Seems like most things in that range are either speculative startups (GLEO, HCIC, AURC, etc.) or dying businesses (Buzzfeed, Forbes, Bowlero, etc)
You think HCIC will have a lot of redemptions?
