It's never too late to join the cryptocurrency market. Don't let FUD fool you. There's a large audience hating on the cryptocurrency market either because they failed, or they're refusing to admit its impact!

**Arch Linux** The Bisq downloads page includes a link to the Arch User Repository (AUR) page for the bisq package. From the command line, clone the repository from AUR. Then from the cloned directory, run makepkg -si. This will read the PKGBUILD file to download, verify, build, and install the various tools necessary to install Bisq. If the version found on AUR is not up to date, you can read Fix_Arch_release. Please be advised: when you're using AUR, you're responsible for your own safety. Be sure to verify the PKGBUILD file. **Gentoo** Use eselect repository enable booboo to use the 'booboo' overlay which carries the binaries, and then emerge bisq **Tails** Please see Running Bisq on Tails for details on downloading, installing, and configuring Bisq on Tails. **Qubes** Please see Running Bisq on Qubes for a detailed Qubes setup guide. https://bisq.wiki/Downloading_and_installing#OS-specific_install_notes

Arch. [Follow the installation guide](https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/installation_guide), and you will not only be fine, but also *actually learn* what you're doing. Plus, the AUR is waaay better than a lot of other repos. Linux Mint (or any Ubuntuu derivative) is easy, but you won't learn much of anything. I'd argue that's *less* beginner friendly, because you won't know anything or how to fix anything.

There is no AUR listed at [https://sparrowwallet.com/download/](https://sparrowwallet.com/download/) By searching the web, I found that an AUR package was posted on [https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/sparrow-wallet](https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/sparrow-wallet) but I have no idea if it is trustworthy. I cannot verify its authenticity like I can with the TAR.GZ, DEB, or RPM files.

No, if I want to invest in crypto I invest directly in the coin itself. After being burned by alts I'm only buying Bitcoin. The stocks I'm buying are QS, AUR, and SPCE. These are all gambles but they are things that I have an interest in and can foresee future value. QS is a solid state battery company that so far shows the most promise in bringing such a battery to market, likely in 2026 or 2027. This battery solves the range, safety, and charging time issues with today's electric cars. AUR is a self driving trucking company that is making deliveries today and is expanding their network. The trucks do the task of long haul, and mostly straight driving, between last mile distribution points. From there local truck drivers do the shorter but more complex work of city driving and making the actual delivery. With the ongoing long haul trucker shortage that is only going to get worse and the ability for these trucks to essentially run 24/7 I can see this way of trucking taking over by the end of the decade. SPCE is just fun. I want to be a space tourist someday and this company is doing it today. As their flights become more frequent the cost per seat will go down and hopefully they can get to a point that I can someday buy a ticket.

Agree. Love Manjaro! (Don't forget to sudo). The problem starts when you try to add things like Electrs (also in the AUR). As OP points out, there's no docs to speak of, and it just doesn't work.

I have also run a node on Manjaro. Since bitcoind is included in one of the default repos, it's as easy as 'pacman -S bitcoind'. I haven't tried electrum yet, but a quick search shows it's available in the AUR, so I would start with 'yay electrs'. I have run a node on Windows and Umbrel on Ubuntu, and the Manjaro installations have been BY FAR the easiest. I feel like all this software (bitcoin core, electrum server, lightning node) will eventually be available with one line commands. (Especially on Manjaro/Arch)

**I made *infinite percent* return on one of the first ever rug pulls (2014)** In 2014 (I think) I mined some "Auroracoin" for about a day or two. The coin was suppose to substitute the national FIAT currency of Island as banks were having huge problems at Island at that time. Though they had a great plan for how to hand out the currency to the citizens, effectively exchanging their local currency into AUR all connected to the government, social security, etc... It was an obvious scam (or crypto hopium of 2014 thinking the government would be all onboard). The coin rose to rhoughly 100 bucks a piece before crashing and burning to never be heard of again. I mined 14 of them for an energy price of estimated sub 1 dollar. Though "title" above is missleading this was still a ~14000% profits. I blew like 90% in one weekend drinking with friends. Rest went i to BTC and is still accumulating staking rewards. No regrets, still remember that night so well, except for the parts I don't remember for obvious reasons...

Will it let you install your software? I think Chromebook software has to be M$/Google-approved. Just get an old anything that will take Debian, and add an SSD. I prefer Arch/Manjaro, but all the software and support seems to be for Debian. You can run bitcoin-core from the AUR easily, but trying to connect your Android wallet will make you cry.

Install Manjaro Linux on whatever you have and download from the AUR. This probably sounds more technical than it actually is. Don't understand your re-tooling comment. You'll need an old machine and preferably an SSD.

Truth is, I'm not smart enough for Arch, so I use Manjaro. I like the convenience of Pamac, and there's been a snag in the AUR package since last year. Are you routing everything thru Lokinet? Interesting!

I use brave and nord mostly but Linux AUR has a tor vpn so was thinking of trying that out, though my nord is dirt cheap so that's fine too and runs in command. Nord as a tor option but the tech is a little out of my remit and I've read before somewhere that using tor unnecessarily can actually be counter productive so have shyed away from those settings for now. Thanks for the response super useful to many I'm sure

The IRS rep told me fax them anything I had that showed my transactions and reports from Coinbase to the "AUR Reconsideration" dept, so I got everything I could off Coinbase's website and sent it to them. I'm really hoping that is good enough and I won't have to hire a lawyer and all that. I don't want to pay money for Coinbase's mistake.

Yeah the market is insreincially coupled to BTC since its BItcoins flawless transaction record which props up the whole trust in the ecosystem. As the market matures through regulation and strength in depth of each asset class sub type, we'll slowly see this erode away. Think of it like tech stocks: huge news for AR or VR or crypto mining or whatever would pump AMD, NVIDIA etc across the board. Crypto does this a lot - you'll see the storage coins all pump off storage based news, even if is specific to 1 protocol, same same NFTs, gaming, oracle's etc. However, they all are also intrinsically bound to follow BTC as the overarching macro trend, due to this coupling effect. I'd imagine if we went back to the advent of the S&P or any stock market we would see a similar kind of thing occur until all those businesses were super mature. Decoupling is as inevitable and natural over time as the 'flippenining' (ETH overtaking BTC by market cap), though this latter development isn't particularly significant, at least nowhere near as much as hype merchants will make it out to be. It stands to reason and logic that digital oil will be in more velocity demand than digital gold, so the market cap would grow more quickly. Plot that growth on a scale of infinity and its inevitable. Yeah undoubtedly there are rocky roads yet to come. Nothing I have said is in any way related to price action. I'm just giving the macro perspective that in the long run, the markets don't matter, we know where we are going. I fully expect to see a sub 20k BTC again at some point, even sub 5k if there were a world war with an EMP attack or such things. Alas, anything short of a quantum usurping of Blockchain (which I don't think will happen as quantum integrated security solutions have already been worked on for a while) is not going to stop this juggernaut imo. Ahhh yeah Ubuntu kinda sucks. Pop OS is okish but so limited and locked down. I'm no programmer, I am simple command line hobo. Alas, I'm into Linux because my principles align me to open source, and fuck m1cr050ft and 4ppl3. If you want an iOS style GUI the new Gnome is lovely. I prefer old school style desktop with manjaro KDE plasma but have both on ancient computers. Arch's AUR repository has everything you could imagine in terms of software, from ardour to gimp to nord clients and is very much a bells and whistles repository. I'd rather spend some of my life frustratingly rolling back my kernel cuz an update crashed my system than spend all my life simping to big tech. I'd like to think I'm a hobo of principle, even if it means making my life significantly harder. I believe that struggle in the name of principle is an important self growth mechanism. Its also why I'm vegan, don't drive, don't buy designer clothes or have many possessions etc. I don't really care how others live their lives, it's their choices to make and not my place to judge. Alas, I'll respect someone I entirely disagree with but show conviction in their principles far more than someone who aligns to my thinking or agrees with me but lacks any real conviction.

Flare is a direct competitor to Ethereum (ETH) smart contracts, NFTs, etc. Songbird is open systems, and people will build things with them that we haven't thought of yet. But being able to have smart contracts for layer 1's that don't have them, the state connector, the decentralized built-in oracle, an EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) that works much faster than on Ethereum, being able to trade various L1s on a DEX, decentralized governance, all open up a lot of potential. This is the best network for smart contracts because fees are super cheap (per transaction), secure, very fast, and uses almost no energy. It’s great for: Paying transaction fees, FTSO vote delegation, Minting F-assets. Use in apps being built on the network like Flare Finance and Trustline. The simple fact that a Songbird/Flare wallet will be able to hold anything BEP 20, ERC 20, XRPL, is a game changer, and you'll be rewarded for bringing on those assets. The real power in WSGB is that it utilizes a detachable voting function for the FTSO and governance functions of the network. This also means that users can deploy the WSGB token in DeFi protocols, or elsewhere while simultaneously voting in governance, and earning inflationary rewards in SGB on a weekly basis through FTSO delegations to signal providers. Matt Rosendin of Trustline recently announced that they will be launching their decentralized stablecoin protocol, Probity, on the Songbird Network sometime in October. Probity has a similar design to MakerDAO in that it takes collateral from suppliers and borrowers to mint and issue stablecoins. On Songbird Network, it would be expected that WSGB will be the collateral of choice. Once live on Flare Network, Probity will feature FLR and FXRP as premium collateral. Additionally, Aurei (AUR), stablecoin of Probity, can be issued on the XRP Ledger with the Flare and Songbird Networks as the decentralized counterparty.

First of all we have made serious thoughts about every holder at MoonBoys. We have made an AirDrop for holders above 2bn MBS to get rid of „dust wallets“. Simply because our tokenomics where rewards were based on transactions and volume. So if you sell 1bn MBS then a small amount is always left (< 0.0…. MBS). Therefore the true amount holders were never reflected. This is also the case for bsc projects who follows the same tokenomics such SafeMoon where our tokenomics was inspired. Despite our decision to get rid of „dust wallets“ we didn‘t want to leave anybody behind - so that was the reason for our AirDrop offer for holders less than 2bn MBS. We have announced it several times on different social media platforms. The fact that you need 1BNB to receive rewards was in the first hours after launch but we have slight issues and we fixed it within 5hours. The minimum to receive rewards were set to 11bn $AUR. It is always a decision by market how they decided the price and we have no influence on it. In conclusion this is not a rugpull at all. Our recent contract upgrade were made after a recommendation from auditor Solidity Finance to provide more security and a flexible tax system to have less barriers for new investors with low tax and only 100AUR to gain rewards.

AURUM - $AUR without a doubt... AURUM - the Golden Standard, because not all tokens are created equally! Created on the Binance Smart Chain, launched on July 6 2021. Aurum tackles two aspects that involve you - the investor in cryptocurrencies - directly: SECURITY + ERGONOMICS So how do they do that? Well... they design products that have both as top priorities. Under development and to be released still in Q3 2021: THE MULTIFUNTIONAL AURUM WALLET \+ the most secure softwallet to store your tokens \+ live portfolio value (taking into account various tokenomics) \+ detailed live charting without the need for external apps/websites \+ instant swaps between all Bsc and Apeswap coins/tokens (without dApps!) \+ limit orders and alarms and copy trading \+ NFT minting and showcasing for a small fee \+ gorgeous design and ergonomics! Under development and to be released in Q4 2021: THE SECURE CRYPTOCENTRIC WEBBROWSER \+ will work seamlessly with the Aurum wallet \+ several layers of protection that check for scams/rugpulls \+ alarm mechanisms triggered by constant monitoring of suspicious access \+ a clean interface for comfortable browsing and trading crypto Currently available on Pancakeswap, Bitmart, XT exchange (any day now), Apeswap (soon). Truly advanced tokenomics that envisage the entire Bsc space! How come? By enabling buy/sell taxes to be redistributed to your wallet in ANY TOKEN/COIN of your choice (from Bsc and Apeswap). This is HUGE because it means in fact that Aurum is aiming at cooperation with other projects, by giving the users of the Aurum wallet the chance to effectively invest in any project while they are ASLEEP simply by setting the correct reward token - this can be done hourly! This also a sure incentive to other projects to promote the Aurum wallet to their userbase... Well, if this got you somewhat interested, you might check out these places for more details: \+ Aurum Official Telegram Community: AurOfficial \+ Aurum Official Website: AurumOfficial.net \+ Aurum Official Twitter: AURofficial\_ \+ Aurum Official Discord: channels/832333525402386432 One more thing, and that is MARKETING... this is going to be huge! Aurum has just partnered with LUNA PR from Dubai. They are an award winning global public relations firm for the crypto/fintech space. THIS IS GOING TO BE FIREWORKS PEOPLE!!! No financial advice... yet don't wait too long if the characteristics of this project got your attention. Price can be checked on Coingecko and Coinmarketcap of course. See you all at the top!

I use Brave but to be clear to the people thinking of switching, ignore the cultish shills that generally plague this subreddit. The main benefit of brave is supporting a system where you are paid for your attention. The browser is not as good or as polished as chromium or firefox. That said, it's a step in the right direction of paying people to serve them ads imo and that's why I use it. * "No ads" - referring to non-browser served ads ie/ no BAT rewards. The brave dblocker is significantly inferior to ublock orgin or equivalent. It also inconsistently changes it's effectiveness after updates. For example the "regular" setting used to block all sponsored search links. Now it works on google but not on startpage which parses google results. * "Fast" - from my experience it is noticeably slower than chromium even though it's based on chromium (Arch AUR version).
