Nice thanks for sharing, now it's a nice bull thesis. CMBT actually looks really interesting, debt load to cash/net income will need to be addressed, but that's a really good one. Probably start a position with a couple 100 shares honestly. Genuinely good call out imo.

MPCC and CMBT in a roughly 25-75% setup. I was building those positions for nearly a year already and went all-in when the war started. Both companies have most of their fleets available outside of the gulf, they are both actively preparing for environmental regulations like FuelEU, and overall I like their managements.

This is where the actual company you buy matters. Both for CMBT and MPCC, the fleet list is public, and it's easily trackable where their ships physically are using MarineTraffic map for example. For MPCC, there is one single ship of their entire fleet of 51 vessels in the gulf, and even that one might be doing its job just fine locally since it's a feeder ship for containers: [https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:688687](https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:688687) [https://www.mpc-container.com/fleet/our-fleet/](https://www.mpc-container.com/fleet/our-fleet/) As for CMBT, they have 232 vessels, and out of all that, only a few are physically in the gulf, the rest is earning sky-high spot rates for both tankers, dry bulk and other categories as they are diversified. CMBT and MPCC, both for a specific reason of them getting ready for the modern emissions regulations in shipping like FuelEU. Which pretty much also adds a layer on top of the supply-side issues, in addition to the marine growth on the hulls of the ships that are stuck in the gulf, and so on. Even if the war magically stopped tomorrow, those ships in there aren't going anywhere anytime soon, they will just build up queues for maintenance after rotting in the gulf for months.

I am still holding tanker stocks like NAT , CMBT from 2020. It finally is paying off

Operating costs are one thing, they are massively paid off by those increasing rates. As for shipping demand, there's no problem on that front as far as I see, this is a loss of supply which means whoever has free ships, earns sick amounts of money. CMBT and MPCC just happens to have ships outside on the sea and they have companies betting on top of each other just to rent their ships.

The remaining ships that aren't stuck in there have to go on much longer routes, because the oil and other stuff still have to be transported, but the logistics are pretty much fucked. Meaning, whoever has available ships gets much higher offers for them from companies that rent them, which directly translates to higher profits. For the account I'm using, it was easier to buy local stocks, I prefer to keep it simple. Also, CMBT is more diversified and has its own technology for the upcoming environmental regulations, which could eventually give it a green premium if it works out. MPCC is a completely different category, focusing on the smaller feeder segment and long-term charters while also renewing its fleet.

Update: CMBT just closed right on a multi-week resistance level here. https://preview.redd.it/woziv2kw9cyg1.png?width=3706&format=png&auto=webp&s=3886d2b337740ad08eda3bb70e887829c7f90a42

I don't think so, they are rather modernizing their fleet, for example CMBT plans on using engines ran by ammonia and such, with their own infrastructure.

Mentions:#CMBT

CMBT is doing something similar as well, they are building their own hydrogen and ammonia fuel infrastructure, along with engines and ships that use it. This was also a reason I bought it instead of a regular shipping company.

It's only about the account type I'm using, these two I have invested in were the easiest to set up without complicating tax and stuff, since they are on the local market for me. Also, CMBT has their own part of the oil shipping fleet as well: [CMB.TECH | CMB.TECH fleet | Future-proof shipping](https://cmb.tech/fleet?limit=500&orderBy=default)

I bookmarked PL TTMI KTOS and CMBT for the beginning of 2026, but didn’t buy and all went to the moon. Serious question. Would yall buy them after they went up a lot? Or just on to the next ones? I feel like I missed the boat but am pissed bc I was too much of a regard to buy them. I am doing good recently, but still
