We're briefly coming out of a very risk-off regime brought by the war. Small caps do terribly in risk-off environments. Ex-US equities are doing much worse than US equities due to the impacts of the energy supply shocks. That's a double whammy. That's the majority of the reason for the valuation. The other thing you should do is look at the sector composition of EWUS. That might tell you something about why it's trading where it is. BTW, small caps have done this thing where they outperform large caps for a few months many times, but they always fall behind again. Small caps are better as trades rather than investments, because they are so much more sensitive to interest rates / economic conditions.

VGK looks like a good diversification option, thanks. Looking at EWUS, I don’t think small cap has the same potential for upside in Europe as it does in the US.

I bought VGK and EWUS. I’m not sure how confident I am about EWUS, was just doing the best I could. HSBC sure looks nice but it’s so overbought. I can’t see buying it right now

I don’t know. But also check out EWUS which has a lower expense ratio than RSP.

By chance, I noticed a couple of people shitting on me in thread yesterday, because I asked someone to mind their own business a few *weeks* ago. Dudes or ladydudes, if it makes you happy to do that, well, I guess... great! I'm all for people being happier. Still, it is a little bit odd to see people THAT much upset about a stranger on the internet saying 'mind your own business' ? ... still fuming away literally weeks later. I'm probably just old and out of touch. It's probably a totally normal thing everyone normal does nowadays. Still, hopefully this board has not become /r/fauxmoibogs in my absence, and hopefully I'm not someone's personal Taylor Swift. I regret that I have wounded someone so deeply by simply wishing for them to leave me alone. But maybe there's a lesson to be learned here too, about not telling total strangers they suck at investing, and then expecting them to cheerfully thank you for that kind insight? Anyway, about shit stonk plays and great stonk plays, since that is what we're supposedly here for. ---- I have two investments still in play: $PFE, bought between March and June averaging about $41-42. So far, a bit of a shit play. I've written enough about it, let's move on for now, I'm holding that position open till it wins or I see something with more upwards potential in it. Possibly uppy unlockers: CEO change, cancellation of Seagen buyout, good news from GLP-3 inhib, random move, analysts moods, rotation to value, etc. Also, I have these euro and UK small cap indices bought 3 weeks ago. Here's the post where I half-port into them, October 25th thread. I suggested that day that everyone else here should also consider going all-in with $EWUS, $IEUS, $IWM or $RSP immediately: https://old.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbetsOGs/comments/17g24bz/daily_discussion_thread_october_25_2023/k6e7ov7/ Here's the graph in USD for UK small-caps: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/EWUS?p=EWUS and for Europe: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/IEUS?p=IEUS Pull up the one month views and look for October 25th. I haven't made any calls on any index any time in the last 12 months other than that one 3 weeks ago. So it's not as if I'm spamming index plays all year and by chance this was the one that worked. I am quite proud of it and I think it's a pretty nice 2-week return (13% til recent peak) on a ridiculously safe, boring, un-geared index investment. But, better plays could be found, if you measure returns ignoring risk or gearing. One of the best, $NVDA rallied over 25% in the same timeframe for example. $392 to $500. But not that many people here were yelling they were full-porting $NVDA as it sailed past $395. I hope no bers died from their NVDA puts lately. $IWM +11% trough to peak. Well done to everyone who jumped on board the Octobear $IWM train as it left the station. ---- Lastly, to those who do not enjoy my posts. If my posts are absolutely offensive, please report me/them. You'll be doing me a favour, by making me look like less of a dick. If what I'm writing is just annoying, or not your thing, then why not block me and ignore me? I encourage you to do this. I don't want to annoy you. If you keep making yourself read stuff you don't even like, when the block button is there....it seems that's a you-problem, not a me-problem. There are 8 billion people on this planet. I can't make you all happy 100% of the time, nor would I wish to. Take responsibility for your own happiness. Talking about people rather than plays, that's how subs die off. It's WSBOGS not Catty Girl Comment Club OGS. Let's talk stocks, not people, people. Report, block, or read, and enjoy life as best you can. Here endeth the sermon. Blessed be the market.

Hope everyone is having fun splashing around in their scrooge mcduck swimming pool of money this weekend. Didn't quite catch the bottom tick sadly with EWUS/IEUS, around 1% away. Certainly a strange feeling see number go up instead of down. https://old.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbetsOGs/comments/17g24bz/daily_discussion_thread_october_25_2023/k6e7ov7/?context=3

Buying pound directly is not capital efficient. Best is to do forex (but you’ll pay the carry every day). However, if you buy a UK etf, in pound, you will do better. maybe something like EWUS? That way when the pound increase and/or the stock market recovers, you will do well either way.

I was looking at a few of the iShares ones the other day EWGS, SCJ, EWUS. Noticed Germany had almost zero volume and thought it was odd. I prefer country specific ETFs vs broad market when it comes to intentional equities.
