Expand your time window a bit, look at 6 month, 1 year and 5 year numbers, if you want to be conservative invest in VOO or SPYM, if you want to shoot for bigger gains, with some higher downside odds, invest in SPMO, VFLO, FELV, GARP, just know that all of these may get hit harder in certain downturns than VOO.
I like the structure of FELV though I don't hold any at the moment, take a look it is formula driven active managed with low fees

Correct, I can't remember exactly what the fund was called before FELV was created, but it was essentially the same and it automatically transferred over.

Incredibly stable returns. Not sexy, but consistent. It was my first ever taste of investing 10 years ago. The market fluctuates wildly, but they just group together 10 or so large cap companies. FXAIX is still my favorite one, but FELV balances out some of the chaos.
Love FXAIX, been in it for about 2 years and up 40%. Just wish I had invested more and earlier. FELV is another excellent ETF they offer.
