I had 7200 shares of DNTK after a merger in the 2000's. They bought our company Suncoast Automation in a reverse merger. The stocks were in a custody account at Robert Half.... I think. They were not worth much after I left the company, there was also a 2 year lockup period on them. I assumed they went belly up. Looks like I missed on a significant chunk of change around 2007 or so. I should have kept up with it. I remember seeing some proxy notices hit my mailbox. Ah well, another lost opportunity. Looks like I might have some shares(2400) in GOVX. If I can track that down. I would be curious to see what that looks like. Off to find out what I can from the transfer agent.

I don't understand GOVX. They seem to be mostly fucking around with a COVID-19 vaccine which I can't understand as a major growth avenue. What am I missing? The Gedeptin project seems promising, but for that one I don't see any upcoming catalyst which would cause it to go "parabolic". What do you like about the stock, OP?

If you want a genuine answer, LPTX and GOVX are two biotechs that I think are relatively undervalued and will probably be much higher (maybe bought out) in 2025. I don’t even own any right now because I’m thinking that NXRP will do better in early 2025 but the rest of 2025 may be very good for the other two (assuming we don’t have a massive market selloff, which we way).

SIGA, BVNRY and maybe GOVX. SIGA produces a smallpox antiviral that can be used on mpox but a study found it to be safe but ineffective on all cases of clade 1b. The all is the key point since the study gave it to everyone. [Jay Varma didn't help though](https://nypost.com/2024/09/27/us-news/siga-under-investigation-after-release-of-nycs-ex-covid-czars-comments-on-vaccine/) BVNRY is the company with the current Mpox vaccine. They popped in August but fell 20 percent on Friday because of missed earnings. GOVX is in the stages of producing a vaccine, past dilution and cash issues so perfect for WSB. Unlike the first market bubble of 2022, the virus was never wrangled because it's in Africa, not gay men in New York. Media interest died down but the virus continued, this might change things if you see more cases in the US.

Sorry this is too late.  I hope you ended up banking.  I've been burned WAY to many times by holding or jumping back in until the afternoon.  I made a ton on MPOX.... there's been little spikes here and there (esp w GOVX). Even though FTCI broke down yesterday, a long shot but I can still see it bouncing if it can climb back to .39. Contracts were in control yesterday. Everything in my toolbox has glitched recently so I've either missed trades or been late to the party.  IBKR abruptly changed my scanner to delayed right after Labor Day. Haven't figured that one out yet.  Even more troubling, Schwabs alerts aren't working for me. I've tried everything. I depend on those bc I actually have a full time job and trade on multiple platforms. Almost missed a good FCUV exit.  One I'd keep an eye on is OPTT. Looking like it might be curling up.  Then again I could be COMPLETELY wrong on all of these.  I used to hold too long. These days since it's not my primary income,  I exit pretty much the moment I see green. QH really pissed me off. But it's better than nothing.

Yes. I have been trying to change that narrative for months and I'm slowly starting to win that battle. Over 200K members in here. There is so much potential for smart trading and generating squeezes here but people have to get off these dilution scams, garbage penny stocks and financially bankrupt shitcos. WTO dropped from $2 to $0.10 in a day. That's the only reason people are posting about it, likely because they knife caught way too high. Under no circumstance with that type of tank and that type of volume is WTO a "short squeeze" candidate. Shorts have got to be up at least 90%. They aren't being squeezed any time soon. WTO might get a dead cat bounce...or might not. Pure coin flip. Could have already had it as it bounced a bit from its 5 cent low. There are only very few instances where a penny stock becomes a legitimate squeeze candidate. Sometimes they earn it like LODE has done by setting up that excellent financing deal (which still needs to close). Sometimes they luck out like VRAX/COSM/GOVX did with the recent monkeypox breakout. But you can't generate one from nothing. (Okay you have ONE example FFIE that lasted a few days and is now back down versus hundreds that have failed). Shorts have to be caught off guard. Even the GME and ape saga wasn't out of thin air. It was made possible by free money from the government to sit at home and be bored. People are applying 2021 trading principles to a 2024 trading environment.

For swing trading, I find some level of research has actually been a massive benefit. On the long term, I called PLTR's current share price a few years ago, based on company research, and was able to buy a pile of shares back when it was way lower, which netted me a nice profit. Short-term, I look at technicals as a filter for swings, (short float over 30% and with SMAs close to swapping over and going positive) then dig into company news with an skim over financials (SMAs indicate that there is something going on with the company worth digging into, without necessarily triggering the shorts to close their positions) before committing. If I hadn't looked at the balance sheet and news, I wouldn't have caught GOVX, which also made a nice profit. What's worth noting here, though, is that you have to catch the news before the market opens. As you said, things are found almost instantly, but it takes a few minutes or hours for the share price to react, and that's your window for profit. Either way, the cost wasn't priced in, ans looking at financials has been the thing that has got me the biggest returns.

Where are you seeing there has been an outbreak in U.S.? I’m only reading of outbreaks in some African countries, and Germany is donating most of its vaccines there to reduce the risk of a serious global problem. Also, mpox is spread through physical contact unlike airborne COVID. On the other hand, GOVX and BVNKF popped up and could pop again. Ship may have sailed.

VRAX GOVX APDN have been volatile and surged up to 3 times. This seems to be the 3rd wave. Not that I am expert in day trading, but most of times as a pattern I have seen the 3rd or 4th wave to be last one. And often/sometimes it surges up again in the upcoming weeks. Here one factor is that Mpox is not a news that is going to fade away in a span of days. I would say it could take weeks or months for it to resolve. But I am unware of other factors that could drive the stock price of these mpox selling pharmas. Like I feel like the price of these stocks (EBS, VRAX, GOVX, APDN) is pumped up with mpox news but not sure abou the financials of them.

Nice call on GOVX--saying you would not be surprised to see it trade down for the day. If you sold in the first fifteen minutes of trading, you would have sold over $10.25 (even though it went higher before selling off for the rest of the day. PRSO did not get a lot of volume, but it was up 10% on the day. Thanks for the heads up.

Rather surprised to see the move today in GOVX. Monkeypox has been in the news lately and stocks in that space, like $GOVX and $TNXP (which popped today too), are getting the traders in and pressuring the shorts. Bought a small position in $PRSO to "force" myself to watch for more news beyond the two investor conferences they are presenting at this week.  Just like their story on lower cost broadband costs without trenching. Google Fiber came into my neighborhood and I can just imagine how costly it was to tear up the lawns.

GOVX and VRAX to play the pump and dump. They both have no products and are years away from approval. But they have low market cap so easily manipulated. SIGA is the best option for a solid company that has an antiviral treatment. But BVNRY is the only vaccine maker, but is traded OTC so volume is low. And they don't have manufacturing to make enough vaccines. If this does becoming a bigger issue PFE and MRNA would take over. MRNA already has vaccine in trials now. I don't expect this will be a COVID situation though since it is not spread thru the air. And outbreaks can be addressed easily through containment and cleanliness protocols. But will still continue to slowly grow and infect more people. So there is still time for other vaccine makers to catch up.

Yea I agree. I don’t invest in penny stocks long term, just to catch a quick pump. I think GOVX is a pretty good one with potential to be a multi day runner because of growing concern over mpox. The WHO recently declared it a global health emergency, the highest level of danger. It already got into Sweden, if it spreads throughout Europe this thing will really pop.

I’ll be honest and say I didn’t do any DD on them, just saw they are biotech that already shot up over 100% in a day. Biotech is just an industry where companies take a long time and spend a lot (with dilution) over that time and then have approval hurdles that can send them right back to square one. I have no idea what the GOVX pipeline looks like or how much they stand to profit from it. As a rule I’m leery of assuming too much. Given the hype about mpox it very well could 2x again quickly. If it did I would probably bail out at that point. This is not a reason to long term hold.

Certainly not BZFD. No opinion on PSNY or LUMN. GOVX or APDN you can lose 50% just as easy as making 100%. I would buy both LPSN and MRAM with the information I can find. Not sure about 2x, but there is certainly the potential. KULR could announce something big and double overnight, but baring that they are at best going to trade sideways for a while.

Great research much appreciated. Your post caused me to go down the mpox vaccine rabbit hole and I was looking into geovax a bit. I guess they have an MVA vaccine for mpox, but I can’t tell if they have approval for it yet. Yesterday I searched for US conpanies that have an MPOX vaccine. I could only find one company with an MPOX vaccine, Bavarian Nordic, however it is not a US based company. I found two US conpanies with public stock that have other vaccines that are also recommended for MPOX, Emergent Biosolutions (EBS), and Geovax (GOVX). I decided to pick up a little bit of both stocks the next morning with limit orders. Woke up over an hour into the open markets and saw Geovax up over 50%. Wish I had just committed to schedule a market order on market open but decided to make market orders later anyway and still got an additional 50% out of Geovax!
