I doubt IVA will have much say on T3 BSA Regarding Nov's dilution, I believe the offering in quiet period is better than dilution around catalysts.

We are paying full portuguese taxes on everything we do as entrepreneurs in Portugal. Including IVA and road tax. It’s just that this dividends income is tax free. Nothing more than that.

You are referring to the Laffer curve, but you have taken it to a silly extreme. Tax cuts can increase revenue if you're talking about cutting from 90% to 70%, sure. You don't need to convince me of that. Let's stipulate that we are not talking about 70% or 90% tax rates. Suggesting that cutting tax rates when they are 10% will increase revenue is not supported by any data. There are many estimates for the tax rate at which revenue is maximized, but none of them are as low as 10-12%, which is the effective tax rate on Corporate profits in the US currently. If cutting taxes ALWAYS increased revenue, at ANY level of taxation, then obviously at least 1 country would have figured out that they could have a 0.0000....0001% tax rate and raise near-infinite revenue. Corporation made $4.1 Trillion in profit in 2024 and paid around $500 Billion in taxes. That's a 12% effective tax rate. If we doubled that to 24% (still less than the top rate paid by wage earners in the US) corporate profits would need to fall to \~$2.1 Trillion, around 50%, in order for less revenue to be raised. If I were Xi, I would be applying proportional _export_ taxes in the form of IVA over the items recently excepted by the US (computers, smartphones...). Then, wait for Trump to cave even more and beg for an agreement.

Someone from Trump's team also called out Spain for putting IVA on American products. Bitch, I fucking pay IVA for absolutely everything, it has nothing to do with goods' / services' provenance.

Argie here (MercadoLibre is an Argentinian company). Its is ABSURDLY undervalued as you said. And remember, the owner (Galperin) is very a close friend of Argentine president Milei, wich in fact is opening importations with tax free, only IVA (it started this month). And Milei is close with Trump... and even more, 2 days ago was named president of Mercosur wich are negotiating free market between EU and Mercosur. Galperin is the most important and close private entrepreneur to Milei (actual goverment liberal libertarian). And dont forget that Mercado Libre is the most important e-commerce/banking from Latin America and growing FAST... do the math.

>I only subscribe to Streaming services for a specific show I am watching and then unsubscribe. No amount of ML-based show promotions is going to generate extra revenue from me or most other people. This is nothing new, and companies are wasting money on this right now. Translated: I'm like this, so everybody else must be like that too. By the way, the "recommended" you see on Amazon or Walmart? The same tech as Netflix and Hulu. >Sure, but these things have been around pre-bubble and happen to fall into that 20% of actually useful things. Additionally, these things don't benefit from NVDA/specialized chips. Mercedes uses [NVDA Drive Orin](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/self-driving-cars/partners/mercedes/). Tesla uses its own special [inference hardware](https://www.blogordie.com/2023/09/hw4-tesla-new-self-driving-hardware/). Toyota and VW uses [QCOM](https://kr-asia.com/qualcomm-lands-autonomous-driving-projects-with-toyota-and-faws-hongqi). Honda partnered with Mobileye, and will [partner with IBM](https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Automobiles/Honda-and-IBM-team-up-on-next-gen-chips-for-software-defined-vehicles) in the future. Perhaps you're just misinformed? >The current Bubble isn't being driven by actually interesting AI/ML applications that are game-changing like self-driving and navigation. Oh my sweet child. Game developers would love to have a LLM platform augmented with RAG to comb through their engine documentation to find relevant code. Large corporations are testing this tech to augment their customer service team. Retailers are using this tech for IVA. Medical fields are relying on AI to expand their understanding of genomics. Just because you're not interested in them, doesn't mean others are just as disinterested as you are. >Who gives a fuck? What does this actually contribute to society/the economy? It's cool, sure. But so is a good cover singer at a Karaoke bar. Some find it very interesting, and (with permission from the estate) it might bring people's voice back to life in an authentic manner.

I mean, you use Google Map, that's AI. You use Google translate, that's AI. You shop with Amazon, that's AI. You watch Netflix / Hulu / Disney+ / HBO, that's AI. Your car may have lane keep assist feature, or straight up self-navigation, that's AI. You shop at big retail store like Walmart, who might be testing AI for intelligent video analysis (IVA). When people hear AI, they think generative AI, without realizing they're already relying on AI for a huge part of their life. Bonus: I'm going to get a lot of flak for this, but [here's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UVy7XMbgmE) AI Chester Bennington singing Bring Me to Life. That's where we're at with generative AI. Imagine what we can achieve in a few years.

> Because inventory value adjustment is double counting inflationary effects caused by price increases? It’s useful for measuring the impact of inflation, but not useful for measuring the drivers of inflation. Is that what it's doing? Or is it removing a lag effect from inventory created before costs or prices increased in order to remove a temporary improvement in profits that does not reflect current opex? > IVA YoY is also heavily impacted by the supply chain issues during the covid shocks themselves, when business wrote down or wrote off things in expectation of a recession that never really came. To some extent, that's the point.

I suppose that it's the same thing but what I was driving for is "Intrinsic Value at Assignment". Maybe the acronym IVA would be appropriate? While Intrinsic Value is normally good, when you are selling Calls or Puts, come assignment time, Intrinsic Value is money left on the table. In the case of a Call, its a lost opportunity cost. In the case of a Put, it immediately becomes a paper loss that needs to be overcome before you can sell the underlying for a profit or wheel into a covered call.

Yeah well the way I look at it is like taking out an IVA but instead of your credit score being decimated, it goes up. But apparently there's a few big movies lined up, alot of plans to recover in the coming months and I guess this buys them the time they need 🤷‍♂️

Portugal Yea bro, that's why brain drain to the US is a real issue, the wellfare state isn't all that good either, if you want any decent healthcare you're going to private practice, you also can't say labour laws are great, yes you can't be fired willy nilly but most jobs have no progression, and this 1.3k are not free of further tax bc almost every item you buy has a IVA tax of 23%. These are just personal taxes, point is, you have much less disposable income to try and start your own thing.

That is a dumb thing to say on multiple levels. First of all, the $1B was the size of the fund he managed, not his personal net worth. And 2nd, if you know anything about this guy, his entire identity was built around being a successful investor and he lost that. He lost the thing he valued most in life - which wasn't money. https://nypost.com/2021/04/27/charles-de-vaulxs-apparent-suicide-rattles-wall-street/ > People close to de Vaulx say that even though he was worth hundreds of millions of dollars, it was a blow to him that some investors no longer trusted him with their money. Having emerged from Eveillard’s shadow, de Vaulx had wanted to be a legend in his own right. > > “It was never about the money,” one person close to de Vaulx said. “IVA was an embodiment of de Vaulx’s personality and when it began to unwind, he took it personally.”
