2060 is basically the year that someone investing in that fund wishes to retire. It’s a hands-off way to have someone (blackrock, the fund manager) reallocate the investments over time so that they are less risky near retirement. These are fine to invest in, but many don’t like them since they’d rather control their investment mix themselves - as a 25 year old I would want to maximize my potential (all in on stocks instead, VOO/VTI) instead of their more balanced approach. I don’t see why you would have any issue selling your LIZKX position and moving it into something else unless this is through your job or something else. Is it just a normal brokerage account or ?
According to morningstar the last distribution from LIZKX was made on 6/30/23, so you should see activity on or after that date.
When would I see a dividend distribution into my retirement account with the fund LIZKX. It says it pays quarterly but there was a recent distribution but no increase in my account value.
I really thought you could use Raymond James with as little as 5k. If you can't, I would recommend a target date mutual fund, they are sometimes called life cycle mutual funds. They are the same funds used in 401k accounts. Just pick the year you want to retire and find a target date fund as close so that date as possible, try to get a 4 or 5 star rated fund. If you are shooting for 2060 then LIZKX would be an example. Once you find the mutual fund you like you need to find a broker that offers it with no load and no fee, this is important. Then open a Roth IRA with that broker and if you intend to invest more that the 6k Roth limit consider a regular IRA in addition to the Roth. Once that is all setup you can setup automatic drafting and investing into the mutual fund you chose. Also, when I said education yourself I meant on investing in particular not an education through an institution. Personal education is important but we have been brainwashed into thinking college is the only path.
