# The Real Institutional Playbook Instead of risking a client lawsuit by buying at a huge premium today, smart active managers will simply wait out the lock-up period. Six months from now, when early employees and venture funds are finally allowed to sell their shares, the market will be hit with an actual flood of supply. Active institutions will wait for that moment to buy blocks of shares calmly and at a discount, rather than fighting over the tiny 4.2% float with retail gamblers today. **CONFIDENCE LEVEL:** 1.0/1.0 **CRITICAL UNCERTAINTIES:** * **Whale/Sovereign Wealth Behavior:** While traditional U.S. mutual funds face strict ERISA fiduciary oversight, foreign sovereign wealth funds (like the Qatar Investment Authority or Abu Dhabi’s MGX, who already have stakes via the pre-IPO xAI merger) operate under completely different legal mandates. If these non-U.S. mega-funds decide to buy on the open market regardless of price premiums, they could artificially sustain the higher valuation despite domestic institutional caution.
As far as I understand, the initial $500B budget is only a goal for 2029 between OpenAI, SoftBank, Oracle, and MGX. Someone is obviously going to take on some debt, but it won't be on Oracle's books (but Stargate LLC). As far as debt goes, Oracle is done issuing (on their own books). They still have an $20B ATM equity program though
Also, I’m pretty sure OpenAI isn’t paying to build out data centers. They have partners like Oracle, SoftBank and MGX fronting the costs to build the data centers then OpenAI is renting them over time which converts the expense to a much lower operating expense spread out over the life of the data center.
TLDR Andy Jassy, Amazon’s chief executive, is leading the negotiations with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, according to some of the people. The exact shape of a deal, should one be reached, could still change, the people said. Investing up to $50 billion could make Amazon the biggest contributor to the AI company’s ongoing fundraising round. Amazon has also put money into OpenAI competitor Anthropic. The company has developed an $11 billion data center campus for the large language model developer in Indiana OpenAI, which is weighing a potential initial public offering, is also aiming to raise capital from Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds and other venture capital funds. The company’s existing investors include Thrive Capital, Khosla Ventures and MGX, the United Arab Emirates fund.
Yep. The Ellisons (Oracle) along with investors from Silver Lake (investment firm) and MGX (an Emirati state-owned investment firm) will take majority ownership in the US.
Setting up a joint venture is no way getting the company… “The new entity, named TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC, will operate independently with the following ownership structure: 50% held by new investors: Oracle, Silver Lake, and MGX (each approximately 15%). 30.1% by affiliates of existing ByteDance investors. 19.9% retained by ByteDance The joint venture will be governed by a seven-member board. It will have authority over: U.S. user data protection and storage (hosted in Oracle's secure U.S. cloud environment). Algorithm security and retraining of the content recommendation system using only U.S. data. Content moderation policies for American users. Software assurance and compliance auditing, with Oracle serving as the "trusted security partner." Getting half the seats on a board that controls content moderation, algo tuning, and data warehousing for 150 million out of 2 Billion active monthly users - doesn’t look like ‘getting TikTok’ to me
TikTok is being sold to Oracle, Silver Lake, and MGX, should be positive for tomorrow
From your link: “Half of the new TikTok U.S. joint venture will be owned by a consortium of investors — among them Oracle, Silver Lake and MGX will each hold a 15% share.” So one of 3 companies that owns 15% actually holds the key to the entire algorithm? The other 2 companies just eats shit then
**TLDR:** * OpenAI is targeting up to $100B in new funding, potentially valuing it at $830B. * The round is early-stage, may close no earlier than Q1, and an IPO is being considered. * The company is expected to court sovereign-wealth funds, building on prior funding from UAE-based MGX * SoftBank committed $30B, including selling its Nvidia stake to fund the investment. $22.5B more is expected by year-end. (lmao) * OpenAI needs massive capital to stay competitive but faces cooling AI investor sentiment and high cash burn. * OpenAI is projected to burn over $200B in cash by 2030, raising concerns about long-term financing sustainability. **Article:** OpenAI is aiming to raise as much as $100 billion as it seeks to pay for ambitious growth plans in a market that has cooled recently on the artificial-intelligence boom. The fundraising round, which is in the early stages, could value the company at as much as $830 billion, if it raises the full amount it is targeting, people familiar with the matter said. The startup aims to complete the round by the end of the first quarter at the earliest. Terms of the deal could still change, and it is unclear whether there will be sufficient investor demand to reach the goal. The round will present one of the biggest tests the company has faced since the public market’s exuberance for AI spending waned. Chief Executive Sam Altman has already scoured the world to build the pool of OpenAI’s investors and the company is now weighing a potential initial public offering, The Wall Street Journal previously reported. OpenAI needs an abundance of capital to build its AI models and stay competitive in a rapidly changing market. SoftBank agreed to invest $30 billion in OpenAI earlier this year and last month, sold its Nvidia stake for $5.8 billion to fund the OpenAI bet. OpenAI is expected to secure the remaining $22.5 billion in planned financing from SoftBank by the end of the year. OpenAI has engaged in a year-end dealmaking spree that includes a content-licensing agreement and a $1 billion investment from Disney. The deals show that OpenAI’s fundraising machine remains formidable even as questions about how it will pay for expansion plans remain largely unanswered. OpenAI is expected to recruit sovereign-wealth funds to invest in the financing, given the scale, according to people familiar with the matter. The company has previously secured funding from United Arab Emirates-based MGX. The Information earlier reported some details of OpenAI’s latest fundraising efforts. The company has faced skepticism over computing deals it has forged that are worth hundreds of billions of dollars and issued a “code red” to beat back a growing threat from Google. While OpenAI is set to burn more than $200 billion in cash through 2030, Google has low levels of debt and robust profits, which could make it easier to invest further in AI. OpenAI partners including Oracle and CoreWeave have seen their market values dip in recent months as shareholders soured on bold plans for data-center build-outs that appear to face financing headwinds. News Corp, owner of the Journal, has a content-licensing partnership with OpenAI.

I believe the hardware will be part of the Oracle/Softbank/MGX Stargate campus in Abilene, Texas. So Oracle et al would be financing the actual hardware not OpenAI. OpenAI would then sign up to rent the hardware for the next 5-7 years. This makes it much more feasible for OpenAI. Oracle fronts the cost and OpenAI pays it back over time as operating expense.

Agree with [Prudent-Corgi3793](https://www.reddit.com/user/Prudent-Corgi3793/) on SoftBank’s aggressive leverage. In FY 2025, it used major stakes—Arm (\~769 M shares, US$ 8.5 B), Alibaba (US$ 6.37 B), SoftBank Corp. (\~9.6 B shares, US$ 5.08 B debt), Deutsche Telekom (US$ 6.64 B), and T-Mobile US (\~18 M shares)—as loan collateral, leaving it exposed to margin calls and liquidity shocks. SoftBank’s AI/ASI stack—Arm, Ampere, Graphcore, ABB Robotics, Skild AI, and the Stargate JV (OpenAI, Oracle, MGX)—is being aggressively hyped. The louder and more frequent the announcements, the clearer it becomes that SoftBank needs sustained buzz to fuel its AI-empire vision—creating a potential “bump and dump” risk if valuations drop.
The dot-com crash took more than 70% off the Nasdaq, and some of the current AI hype is starting to feel a little too familiar. It’s worth staying cautious as these AI “ecosystems” pop up everywhere. The playbook is pretty standard now: launch a massive, government-backed project; bring in huge pools of global capital (sometimes so big it creates a false sense of guaranteed success); partner with two or three major corporations; and round it out with a mix of smaller companies. A lot of these firms are suddenly rebranding themselves as *AI-first* or “AI leaders” to stay relevant. It’s starting to look like the setup phase of an AI bubble. According to ChatGPT, the companies commonly referenced in this growing AI cluster include OpenAI, SoftBank, Oracle, MGX, NVIDIA, Microsoft, Arm, and CoreWeave.
this MGX (Metagenomi) is a gene editing biotech company. the MGX that has invested in tiktok is an Abu Dhabi-based investment firm (MGX Fund Management Ltd.) that is not publicly traded. related only by confusion surrounding the similar names.
What MGX is it? 😂 cause I’m on the wrong boat!

Here you go (and this is just the tip of the iceburg, lord knows what hasn't been exposed yet): Middle East Connections Trump has deepened business ties with Middle Eastern nations during his presidency. The Trump Organization announced new real estate developments in Qatar, partnering with Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund. Eric Trump signed deals with Saudi-backed firms for Trump-branded resorts in the Persian Gulf region. Abu Dhabi USD1 Stablecoin Deal MGX, an Abu Dhabi state-backed fund, used Trump’s USD1 stablecoin to settle its $2 billion investment in Binance cryptocurrency exchange. This represents the largest single investment in a cryptocurrency company and Binance’s inaugural institutional investment. Democratic senators introduced resolutions citing foreign emoluments clause violations, though Republicans blocked the initiative. Cryptocurrency Empire Growth World Liberty Financial Success Trump’s crypto venture World Liberty Financial has generated massive returns. The Trump family holds approximately 22.5 billion WLFI tokens, worth around $5.96 billion when trading opened. The family controls nearly 25% of the project’s total supply through various entities. Memecoin Revenue Streams Trump’s $TRUMP memecoin has generated over $320 million in fees from sales according to financial disclosures. The coin staged a recovery in Q3 2025, with Trump’s personal crypto holdings rising 36.6% to $3.10 million by September. Trump hosted exclusive dinners for top memecoin holders at his Virginia golf club, effectively monetizing presidential access. Estimated Total Enrichment According to analysis by The New Yorker, Trump and his family have made approximately $3.4 billion off the presidency. This includes $2.37 billion from cryptocurrency initiatives alone, with additional millions from real estate transactions, licensing deals, and other business activities. Trump’s net worth has reportedly increased by about $3 billion over the past year, driven more by crypto-related ventures than traditional real estate holdings. Not to mention all of the blatant insider trading surrounding tariff announcements that hasn't been investigated properly because Trump has a crony running the SEC.
No, MGX that is on TikTok deal is a UAE company, not Saudi.
# MGX is raiding the USA. How to get favors from the WH? I don't want to buy US companies, just info on pending deals.... I don't have $2 billion to donate but I have personality (My mom swears on it).
Enterprise tech giant Oracle, Silver Lake and the **Abu Dhabi-based MGX investment fund** will be main investors in TikTok’s U.S. business, controlling a roughly 45% stake in the entity, while ByteDance investors and new holders will own 35%, CNBC’s David Faber reported earlier Thursday. \-----when googled MGX---> MGX falls under the purview of Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates' national security adviser and brother of the president, who steers a $1.5 trillion business empire spanning sovereign wealth funds, energy and the artificial intelligence giant G42. \---------------- There are so many US businesses and businessmen here who would have easily paid for this. Chump change for them. But guess what, who gets to be the co-owner - **Abu Dhabi-based MGX investment fund** \-------------- Right, nothing to see here. Opacity level = 100
>> Trump approves TikTok deal through executive order, Vance says business valued at $14 billion > The deal satisfies the requirements of a national security law requiring China-based ByteDance to sell TikTok’s U.S. operations or face an effective ban in the country, according to the executive order. Under the terms, which China must still approve, a new joint-venture company will oversee TikTok’s U.S. business, with ByteDance retaining less than a 20% stake. > Enterprise tech giant Oracle, Silver Lake and the Abu Dhabi-based MGX investment fund will be main investors in TikTok’s U.S. business, controlling a roughly 45% stake in the entity, while ByteDance investors and new holders will own 35%, CNBC’s David Faber reported earlier Thursday.
Oracle, Silver Lake And MGX Would Each Take A Roughly 15% Stake In The New Tiktok US, And The Investors May Get A Board Seat Each
> Oracle, Silver Lake & Abu Dhabi’s MGX will be main investors in TikTok’s U.S. business, sources told CNBC’s David Faber on Thursday. Wonder how much they paid Trump to be the ones in on this deal.
How many of you potatoes bought MGX thinking it was part of the TikTok rumors hahaha
wtf is MGX, will it bounce only 2 dollars per stock right now ?
Is there hope for MGX to move again or should i just exit
I think this was mainly due to the goof of headlines using "MGX" for some middle eastern funding company hitting the news and many thought it was Metagenomi. Its happening again the last couple of days, I think.
CRCL + COIN will make millionaires 🌐💹💰 "The timing is also impeccable: the Senate just passed the “Genius Act,” a bill that opens the door for widespread adoption of stablecoins, which could send the value of platforms like WLFI into the stratosphere. Adding to its legitimacy, USD1 is already being used as a payment method for the UAE’s sovereign wealth fund, MGX." Or $WLFI if you trade crypto.
Billions! The president's net worth is expected to get another bump, with World Liberty Financial's announcement this week that a Abu Dhabi-backed firm will invest billions of dollars in the Trump family-affiliated crypto fund. The Emirati firm, MGX, will purchase $2 billion in a stablecoin product offered by World Liberty, the company said in a statement to CBS.
Cisco to work with BlackRock, Global Infrastructure Partners, MGX, Microsoft, NVIDIA and xAI to accelerate innovation and scaling of AI data centers PUMP IT, I SAID PUMP IT GODDAMNIT
See my profile for the trade screenshots above. MGX is one that got away because I got stopped out, but a ton of people made money on it because of my DD.
ScanTech AI Systems (STAI) is attempting to position itself alongside the recently announced Stargate AI Initiative, though the press release reveals more aspiration than actual participation at this stage. This $100 billion public-private partnership between the federal government and major tech players (SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle, and MGX) represents a theoretical opportunity for STAI’s AI-enhanced security scanning technology, but several critical factors deserve investor scrutiny. The announcement is primarily exploratory, with no concrete contracts, revenue projections, or formal inclusion in the Stargate program. With a micro-cap valuation of just $53.3 million, STAI faces significant challenges in competing for meaningful portions of this initiative against the established tech giants already named as equity partners.

Really hoping my bag of MGX can pop one day or in just gonna fucking sell at a loss.
MGX is not very popular, but you are right that it did have one of its runs. People who followed me on MGX made a boatload, even though I got stopped out at a loss.
MGX missing from this list
I did follow you MGX. And I was being an asshole to you when it got dumped. You exited. But I held after investigating their product. The recent results are very promising. When FDA approval comes and human trials begin, I expect it to go through the roof. I am still holding and will be adding at better entry. This is gonna be very long hold.
You can check my posts for winners. Somethings the gains are immediate as was the case with ICCT and GXAI. Other times it takes a few days or weeks, like it was the case with MGX. I used to have a tight 20% stop loss, or a 5 day time loss, whichever comes first, but I realized that this might be too restrictive. Now I hold for up to a month or so, as long as my losses are not greater than 20-30%. My positions are small, and spread out on a few tickers, and this overall is a small portion of my portfolio. This is the wild tail side of the portfolio that should propel it to overperform the market in general. While it is tempting to want to increase the position size, I have learned the hard way over the decades that you a losing trade is easier to cut if it is small, and it is easier to hold for max gains for the same reason. Hope that helps.
People who followed me on MGX made a boatload. I got stopped out at a loss, and that is fine. All my trades are pre-run up, whatever the reason might be for the accumulation. All calls are free for all to read and use. I always disclose that I own the stock, and that I intend to add, reduce or dump it all as I see fit. Currently holding TRNR, ELEV, OMGA. Also own ICCT which already pumped once, so you can disregard it unless you want to hold longer term. Below is the post on MGX, and you can check the rest in my profile. I may trade MGX, it looks like it could squeeze some more.
Is today a good time to sell MGX?
I am not seeing a single mention of the fact that MGX, a stock I saw mentioned a few months ago, had a ridiculous 115% rise yesterday. No news, no mentions. Does anyone have any information on it?
MGX about to break $4
Jeffries named MGX and GPCR as strong buys with 1000% upside in a yahoo article yest. Could be it.
MGX is up 80% today... but keep focusing on insignificant lawsuits.
MGX is the pump today You didn’t hear it from me 👀
Any views / positions with MGX ?
Yes, that because Dermtech's technology does not pass 3rd party scrutiny: In our data, a negative result from the DermTech test did not rule out a diagnosis of an atypical melanocytic lesion (negative predictive value, 50%; Table II), and only 70% of lesions that tested positive were histologically melanocytic (positive predictive value, 70.3%; Table II). Because negative DermTech results without a biopsy were not included, we cannot comment on the sensitivity or specificity of this test. I am not gonna touch MGX until a peer review paper has came out. Never trust horse's mouth
MGX is solid. Their [hemophilia A treatment showed durable Factor VIII activity over 12 months in primate studies](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/metagenomi-reports-business-updates-third-210500299.html). Huge deal for gene editing therapy. Most competitors struggle with long-term expression. They've got manufacturing in-house and multiple editing platforms. The Ionis partnership for cardiometabolic stuff looks promising - already got proof of concept in rodents for all four targets. Cash position is strong too - $274.6M runway into 2027. That's plenty of time to hit their clinical milestones. The 1000% price target sounds crazy but the tech backs it up. Gene editing companies that show real results tend to pop hard. And with 5 analysts all bullish, there's clearly something here. Human Nature: The comment is direct and focused on concrete facts from the provided articles, particularly highlighting key achievements and financial position. It maintains a positive but grounded tone typical of investment subreddits, and includes specific, hyperlinked information about their treatment results. The language is casual and Reddit-like with short, punchy sentences, while avoiding uncertain language or overly formal phrasing.
Massive class action lawsuit being filed again MGX less than two weeks ago. Shareholder claiming securities fraud and unlawful business practices. Company IPO listing was on Feb 9 of this year at $15 per share. May 1st of this year, they announced they were mutually terminating their collaborative work with Moderna. Stock had been falling and closed at $6.17 on May 2nd, after the announcement. Been in free fall mode since going public, down to it's current valuation. This lawsuit can't be good for them.
Bwahahaa 5h ago there’s a lawsuit on MGX
They are different trades. MGX is at all time lows and large players are buying, and PLTR and RDDT are wannabe "ai" plays that are "greater fool" situations until someone big dumps and everyone else follows.
You are gonna have a really hard time if u keep trying to buy “price floors”. MGX is still trending down with lower highs and lower lows, nothing has shown that it has or will reverse any time soon. There’s a small chance you are right, but u gotta wait for confirmation otherwise ur just gambling with a loosing strategy.
Where did you find the $8 cash per share? The Yahoo link you provided has the wrong financials, same number for invested capital, net tangible assets, book value, etc. Those numbers don't naturally match so I assume they're wrong. [https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/MGX/balance-sheet/](https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/MGX/balance-sheet/)
🤔🤔 Metagenomi Inc. (NASDAQ: MGX) is currently facing a securities class action lawsuit filed on behalf of shareholders. The lawsuit alleges that Metagenomi and its senior executives misled investors regarding key aspects of its business, particularly related to its partnership with Moderna. This collaboration, initially presented as a core part of Metagenomi’s strategic growth, was unexpectedly terminated in May 2024, just months after the company’s IPO. The announcement led to a sharp decline in its stock price, which has since dropped to around $2 per share from $7. The lawsuit covers investors who purchased MGX stock between February 6, 2024, and September 26, 2024. Those affected have until November 25, 2024, to seek lead plaintiff status in the case.
Bayer has been here a while. The 13G is not something new (meaning they did not just buy shares). Just Google Bayer and MGX and you’ll see they were invested prior to the ipo.
A few things. It’s fine that you want to pass on it. I don’t care. But the save the drama for your mama. HUGE pass? They don’t need to raise money because they have cash on hand to continue their research which is already promising, until 2027. Like I said earlier, Moderna dissolved the partnership in their research has nothing to do with the company MGX and has to do with Moderna ending funding for research on several fronts with several companies as they shift their focus to make money for their investors fast. Look at Moderna’s current situation, kind of crumbling lately, with sell ratings until $48ish per share. Also Moderna haven’t sold a single share that they have acquired through their original partnership. So it’s misleading to say that Moderna “dropped” them. They are still VERY MUCH invested in MGX.
Fair enough points, one clarification point though, Moderna terminated their partnership in regards to funding research with MGX but remains their holding all the shares they own in the company. Moderna also has terminated a lot of their relationships and are kind of scrambling right now as to what they’re going to focus on going forward. See also their one of the successful companies that has also received a frauding the investors accusation. Bottom line to me, I find it INCREDIBLY hard to believe that this company IPOs at $15 and just drops off to oblivion several months later. I think it’s bound for a huge rally and I’m going to be in it. Risk is small for such a dramatic upside.
Today is the day, boys! YOLO Magnavox 0dte Calls. They won their lawsuit against Atari for Pong. Zenith and RCA are still playing catch-up. MGX TO THE MOON, WHO'S WITH ME?!
Yes it is. Just look up “supermicro computed keynote” Liang said it himself when him and wuang were on that stage. It saves up to forty tucking percent power output. WSB is completely asleep at the wheel on this. OP has literally no idea why the stock is soaring. I’ve been screaming this from the rooftops about their liquid cooling and first to market with NVIDIA MGX server specs. Everybody on this post is losing out on so many gains. Im buying and holding for the rest of the decade.
This comment❤️ thank GOD someone reads about the COMPANY! I agree with everything you said and would love another investors opinion. I truly believe that their liquid cooling and NVIDIA MGX server design will change the world. Charles Liang said it back in august “SMCI’s Liquid cooling in supermicro computers reduce power output by 40 percent” Like bruh 40 percent. I’m calling it for servers right now. SMCI to the fucking moon.🚀 please PM me! Would love to talk to another person with the same knowledge about the company
Because you’re not researching the company. I’ll give you a hint why smci is winning. It rhymes with “their liquid cooling racks reduce power output by up to 40 percent and they specifically design their servers using NVIDIA MGX design”Stop worrying about technical analysis and read about the fucking company. There ya go
Supermicro makes the motherboards for the new GH200 which is part of the new NVIDIA MGX offering. They also make most of the multiGPU motherboards for 8 GPU servers. I just ordered two…
