That's right up there with my "If Russia stops invading Ukraine then my $SBRCY stock will make some bank" hope.

I am the OP, and on Robinhood. A while after posting this I received this email from them: We’re reaching out to you with some important information about your Sberbank (SBRCY) shares. Here’s what we know so far: On June 16, 2022, SBRCY will terminate its American Depository Receipt (ADR) program. An ADR is a foreign stock purchased by an American bank on a foreign exchange to make it available in the United States. Each SBRCY ADR represents underlying foreign shares which trade on the Moscow Exchange. The ADR itself is not currently trading. Typically when an ADR program is terminated, the ADR bank will automatically sell the foreign shares and distribute the cash proceeds to you. However, effective May 25, 2022, clearance and settlement of the foreign shares will be blocked due to ongoing sanctions against Russia. This means that SBRCY shares will be restricted indefinitely, and there is no guarantee that the foreign shares can or will be liquidated. ACAT transfers to other brokerages will also be restricted at this time; it is unknown if or when this will change. Your shares will continue to be held at Robinhood and no action is required on your part. Should the foreign shares be liquidated at some point, you will automatically receive the net of proceeds minus any fees and tax withholding charged by the issuer (these fees are not charged by Robinhood).
So about this SBRCY termination, will I get any money back on these shares lol
u/Law_And_Politics $SBRCY depositary JPM is allowing US and non-US ADR holders to cancel through a special Dept. of Treasury license: [https://api.markitdigital.com/jpmadr-public/v1/cms/document?cmsId=617229f00e774bf7b1638aafb9800109](https://api.markitdigital.com/jpmadr-public/v1/cms/document?cmsId=617229f00e774bf7b1638aafb9800109) Based on this, am I incorrect in assuming the initial restrictions on ADR trading came from the Dept. of Treasury? I'm hoping getting similar licenses are a path forward for $OGZPY and $LUKOY ADR holders.
ally invest called me saying they have something important to tell me about one of my assets. My only asset with them is SBRCY lmfao. I just blocked em.
Yeah, SBRCY is blocked for everyone. I don't know why they would create a new account for that instead of just keeping them blocked. At least it hasn't happened with TDA. The only rumor I heard is that we might need to file an annual form with OFAC to confirm that we still want to keep those shares. But even if that were to happen, our brokers would let us know since filing that form for us would allow them to charge $15 or $30 or something.
[https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SBRCY](https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SBRCY) someone got a different reply from IB, looks like they are taking them in? Very confused at this point but I initiated an ACAT transfer from RH to IB anyway. If the ADRs are in IB they should be able to convert
Yes, read my comment above. Every ADR issued by an American bank (JPM for SBRCY) is backed by underlying Russian shares held by the issuer. Normally cancellation of an ADR would mean that the underlying shares are liquidated and the proceeds returned to the ADR holders. JPM is giving you the option of exchanging the ADRs for the shares directly but you have to figure out A) how to get the ADRs to JPM (not easy) and B) where to hold your Russian shares. If you don't do anything, my guess is that the ADRs will be cancelled and JPM will liquidate the underlying shares at the earliest opportunity (Russian government is not allowing sales of foreign-owned Russian shares right now) which will likely only return pennies on the dollar for you. But it is the default option to take.
Aren't you the SBRCY guy? How is that going?
So a couple sites have the ex-dividend date for SBRCY as May 11, but am I actually going to be able to receive it with the sanctions?
OTC: SBRCY thats one im watching
SBRCY has not resumed, although brokers inexplicably change their valuation methodology from time to time. It was sweet they let me rollover at .04 to my Roth. Currently around $6 where trading on Moscow Exchange.
Which companies had their trading resumed? I know SBRCY have, but it was short lived and closed again.

when will russian stocks be live again? i have over 20k in SBRCY and RSX
POYYF SBRCY anything Russian. Ruble has already recovered
I’m in at $2 for 5k shares of SBRCY, going to be milking those and POYYF dividends through retirement
Where can I find the share price for SBRCY in Russia?
SBRCY hit 7$, I'm up bigly

📮 Update on [my rough blood diamond in the dirt (or is it just dirt?) play](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbetsOGs/comments/t46cb2/comment/hyx9nys/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) This is the degenerate **Sberbank** gamble. No, we still can't trade this, but I wanted to write an update since that [plunge into the scary and unknown abyss](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbetsOGs/comments/t5pzyy/comment/hz7mz0y/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) that I warned about doesn't seem so bad. **At least for now.** The actual ticker on the Moscow Exchange is SBER. And I thought she would plunge once they reopened the stock market over there. Well, she showed resistance at 125 rubles yesterday and she's now at 128.70 rubles. Furthermore, the Russian government choose her as one of the limited number of stocks that would be available to trade. Meaning, they believed she was strong enough for that, as opposed to feeling fearful and keeping her away to protect her. That was last Thursday, and she was 136.24. That means that from the price she had that day when trading resumed, she's only lost -8% to her lower point yesterday. Yeah, -8% is still bad. But I was bracing for a -80%. I mean, her 52-wk low is 89.59 and she's nowhere near that right now. That tells me that, at least in Russia, those investors aren't running for the hills. And why would they? Yes, the sanctions are crippling and that's why she's fallen so much. But Sberbank is still the biggest bank--by far--in Russia. There are many small towns where that's the only option available. Just like Gazprom, it simply can't disappear. And here's another interesting tidbit. In Russia, her 52-wk high is 387.60. That means that from her 52-wk low, getting there would mean 332%. Meanwhile, for us, we're trading the ADR instead. That's SBRCY (still clearly above the minimum market cap). From her 52-wk low ($0.48) to her 52-wk high ($21.63), that's a potential 4,406%. Yes, it is still riskier for us and no, we still can't trade her. And yes, things can still get worse before they get better. But the potential for a big profit is still there.
nope that’s why I bought a shit load of SBRCY…once this fake war ends it’ll print a bit for me
not right now you can’t…I bought a hundred shares of $GAZP and $SBRCY each at bottom the day before the US started embargoing it… Now they literally sit there don’t gain or lose…
im keeping an eye on SBRCY. is like the top main russian bank. if you look at the stock is has similar huge dips when putin invaded crimea and ended up rallying back.
Hopefully SBRCY starts pumping soon
I'm a SBRCY bagholder right now, and might throw more money at it sometime. But right now I think LUKOY is what I'd want to buy most. Less state ownership which would make it a little less of a target than Gazprom. And they have the ability to sell oil in usd while their costs (especially labor) are all being paid in rubles. There are a lot of possible scenarios where the Russian economy gets fucked in the medium term and Lukoil does very well imo.
SBRCY dividend is 1$, paid 1$ per share. Basically 100% return guaranteed lol
Bought a few thousand shares of SBRCY right before the halt for cheap, might be up big if im ever allowed to trade them
LUKOY, SBRCY, OGZPY are all very profitable megacaps. They're all 5-10x wins if shareholders don't get wiped out by something happening. I cannot emphasize the "if" enough, though.
Are they talking about Sberbank $SBRCY ?
I lost 2k on RUSL and 2k on SBRCY selling for a loss. i guess i should have held.
SBRCY
I bought SBRCY at 1.40. 2.5% of my portfolio. Your wife will be with me if matters stabilize because that 4% dividend pre-crash will mean a 60% dividend for me.
Russian bank stocks. They'll either go to 0 or rebound when the Ukraine war is over and sanctions are lifted SBRCY is $.52 right now was $14 a month ago.
still waiting on SBRCY to unhalt so I can load up
if peace breaks out, it will be interesting to see what happens to those SBRCY shares I bought
They added smart TVs to tech offering. SBRCY to the mooooon dawg!
the plus side about YOLOing into SBRCY is im no longer addicted to staring at the market
16k shares of HEPS and 5k shares of SBRCY, the rest in cash
YNDX - maybe. MDX - listed ADR which is a PJSC so there is a delisting risk similar to Chinese government telecoms which have been delisted. SBRCY - OTC ADR is also a PJSC which has ceased operations in most of Europe and probably would be relegated to a Russia-only bank. I personally wouldn't invest in any of those funds. I think that they will have forex risks and will continue to have issues because they can't redeem shares. I was selling naked calls on RSX prior to the halt. I would probably continue to write calls if it was still trading tbh.
Stock wise was looking YNDX, MBT, SBRCY. Fund wise ERUS, RSXJ, RSX.
Leaps? That doesn't sound like a play I would make. I did mention RSX along with several other Russian tickers [on this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbetsOGs/comments/t09b8d/comment/hy8mm4p/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3). And I did play puts for RSX and another Russian ETF below the minimum market cap for a nice, quick profit, although I didn't outline that play. But leaps? Nope. The only Russian ticker I'm holding is SBRCY, but those are shares.
Was looking through Russian companies and found that SBRCY’s second largest shareholder is Kentucky Teacher’s Retirement fund. I just hope they recover that money.
What are the odds SBRCY is worthless when it’s tradeable again
Hey, did you got any shares? I think it's something to ask of the banks that issued this ADRs. Do you know how is it possible to get information or contracts of the banks that have created Russian stocks ADRs? Like $LUKOY $SBRCY $OGZPY and others?
When will SBRCY be free 😤
I also have $0.52, and so does Google. The actual ticker in Russia is still 131.12 RUB, with a 52-wk low of 89.59, so I think $0.52 is the right one. Also, did you know that SBRCY represents 4 Ord Shs of Sberbank Russia Sponsored ADR? If Russia gets the sanctions lifted, this play is bound to make money. But if the sanctions remain and Russia escalates into a bigger war, then toilet paper will be a very valuable commodity in that post-apocalyptic world. And we'll have four times the toilet paper with these shares! It's a win-win.
SBRCY gang, alright. We still need to see her fall way lower, though.
It seems that Russian stock was selling on Pinx until today: LUKOY - Lukoil OJSCY - Rosneft RFNTF - Rosneft AKSJF - Sberbank SBRCY -
Just sharing an update I shared on StockTwits. $LUKOY $SBRCY $RSX $VEON $ERUS Hello my Fellow Russian stock investors. I have good news! $VEON and $POYYF are still tradeable! VEON I can trade on Schwab no problem. POYYF I had to call in. Here's the hilarious thing. The ADR is banned (AUCOY), but Polymetals LSE listed POYYF is not. Someone goofed on Team Biden! I saw the list of "banned" stocks and it's pretty long.....they missed VEON and POYYF. Schwab said it came out this last weekend ( Saturday I think). Get in line before they cut us retail investors off from making early retirement money! This is a 1929 event. Do your own DD. Snatch up shares of crown jewels on sale while you can! (Not financial advice)!
I think SBRCY is good for long term investment. You want something that is going to jump soon look into CENN - Cenntro Motors!
I’m buying a few hundred in $SBRCY. I figure if the Russians take a few more nuclear power stations, maybe cut natural gas lines to Europe or stop selling oil to them sanctions will start being lifted.
How long do you think you will have to hold SBRCY? When did you get in?
https://money.cnn.com/quote/shareholders/shareholders.html?symb=SBRCY&subView=institutional
Surely you're not looking at Sberbank: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/SBRCY - down 96% in one month. Or Lukoil: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/LUKOY - down ~90% in one month. Or Gazprom: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/OGZPY - down ~90% in one month. Or Rosneft: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/ROSN - also down ~90% in one month.
Bingo. Majority shareholder status happening soon. Yandex will likely exchange equity for debt payment. But for all I know they may just gobble up shares from the open market as well. See this is why I am invested into SBRCY. You invest in THE Russian government owned bank and you have a chance of winning with them. They own 50% plus 1 share of the bank. My other Russian investments are LUKOIL and VEON.
I hope so. I bought a couple SBRCY and a call on RSX.
FINRA halted trading in some companies yesterday so no one is trading SBRCY. Shit, Gazprom isn't trading anywhere, not even in Argentina. I have a dream . . . of building a stock market in the middle of the god damn ocean where trading never stops.
😂 made 75% in a day last week on 1000 shares, glad I got out after seeing SBRCY Monday and knew I shouldn’t tempt fate again
It seems ERUS and SBRCY is halted for trading with a lot of brokers.
I've been looking for someone to sell me SBRCY OTC maybe I should reach out cause none of my brokers will even entertain the idea
I think OTC is also affected by the halts. I've been tracking SBRCY since the beginning of the war and today FINRA halted its trading after tanking 42%. So buying Russian stocks will be dependent on when the halts end. Russia will *definitely* recover. If Putin gets ousted I think its recovery will also be incredibly fast. Russia is an extremely resource rich country with enormous economic potential, not to mention that it'll also be one of the very few countries to benefit from climate change.
need someone to save my RUSL and SBRCY bags. Both are going to zero like my options.
$SBRCY on London stock market is 0.04$ shame can’t get exposure
100$ in SBRCY at 0.50 is $4000 at $20
How $SBRCY and other RUS stocks are moving up if trading restricted ? Any brokerage that still support trading RUS OTC markets?
How $SBRCY and other RUS stocks are moving up if trading restricted ?
📮 Update on [my rough blood diamond in the dirt (or is it just dirt?) play](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbetsOGs/comments/t46cb2/comment/hyx9nys/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) Well, it happened. I just checked on SBRCY and she's around $0.50, and none of my buy orders were showing up. I thought they had already been triggered. Nice! But nope, they just disappeared. I tried to load up some more, and that's when it happened. [TDA does not allow me to buy this stock.](https://imgur.com/a/o0bQgTv) And as u/calebsurfs mentioned, [e-Trade is not accepting orders](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbetsOGs/comments/t46cb2/comment/hyxwprv/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3). Then u/makemelearn confirmed [RH and WeBull have closed shop](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbetsOGs/comments/t4ym89/comment/hz2dcev/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), too. Sadly, just as I feared, >Our brokers might even restrict us from playing this later on, just as that Thai airline \[play\], too. **So what does this mean?** Considering all the sanctions, and now taking away any buying--not just from the U.S. but most likely from several other countries as well--then she will probably keep drilling. That sucks because we might get to see her drop down to pennies. **This will test your mettle.** On one side, some of you will panic when you see the shares you bought above $1.00 are now around $0.05 **or even lower**. You'll try to sell, and according to TDA, "sell orders are on a best efforts basis and could be restricted at any time." Hey, I did tell you this play, even though they are shares, would still feel like an options play. So **we're pretty much guaranteed to see our numbers eventually fall below -98%.** If you're this person, you might want to sell this week. There's no sugar-coating here. There's no, *"Oh, maybe something good will happen soon."* **We're plunging into darkness, and when you feel we've stopped falling, we'll fall even more.** But for me, and for those who understand this play, we'll be sad because we won't be able to load up more shares on our way down. Man, that sucks. Once again, just like the [Thai airline](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbetsOGs/comments/rr6lpv/comment/hqgaqlf/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), brokers won't let us buy. I understand the reasoning, though. And yes, as the biggest bank of a country that is invading another country, these restrictions are needed. So once again, if you're looking into the abyss we're about to plunge into and are sweating and pissing your pants, get out now. But if you understand what I'm seeing, [here's a little tidbit](https://imgur.com/a/o0bQgTv) for what's on the other side. That's SBER, the actual ticker over there, not an ADR. On Dec 30, 2014, she dropped to ₽54.90. This was a consequence of all the sanctions from the Crimea crisis. Right now, she's at ₽131.12. So yeah, there's more to fall. I don't need to tell you that. And I don't need to explain the chart, either, regarding what happened to her after that crisis. Looks nice, huh? **So make your choice while you can still get out.** As for me... # Geronimooooooo!!
#Ban Bet Lost /u/yokeda3190 (0/2) made a bet that SBRCY would go to 10.0 when it was 2.99 and it did not, so they were banned for a week.
SBRCY price froze at 9:49am....what's up with that?
Oh I see. Sberbank sponsored my SBRCY ADR shares and I don't think the Russian government would even allow them to exchange them for MOEX shares because I am an American. There is probably a Bahamas work around to this situation that the big hedge funds are exploiting to gobbe up Sberbank ownership for pennies on the dollar. Us little guys don't have a clear recourse for our shares. Nor do we have a way to play the MOEX/ADR arbitrage. Do you know a way?
Putin should just buy SBRCY calls and call the whole war off. Then retire on the fucking moon with how much money he’d make.
Part of SBRCY are filing bankruptcy
You know I bought it for a long term hold but I so wish I waited so I could have acquired so much more for the same price. And of course once you have some you want to see it go up but yeah. Hasn’t been fun. SBRCY fucked me so far even harder
SBRCY I believe in you take your time 🥲
RSX and SBRCY are soooo cheap I may just spend $1k on both tickers. However, I have more faith in RSX's survival than SBRCY. I have a feeling SBRCY may get acquired or merge with another banks. Your thoughts?
Is SBRCY halted for any of you guys?
My broker won’t even let me buy or sell SBRCY today. I feel like that’s illegal and I should be able to at least sell (I wanted to buy currently but regardless).
$SBRCY is a long term buy rn at these prices
RemindMe! 9 months ‘SBRCY to $20 by EOY’
tomorrow i'll listen to this and pray to Jesus that my SBRCY doesnt go any lower https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbrz9lifcPI
Owning SBRCY just outs you as a foreigner automatically. With MOEX listed SBER the presumption may be that you are a local. If you own SBER instead and the Russians discover that you are not a Russian then perhaps you could DTC the shares to a Russian friend or family member and at least keep the div in the family. But with SBRCY the presumption is that you are a foreigner so no SBRCY holders will get divs.
SVER is listed and traded on LSE SBRCY isn’t listed - it’s traded off-venue, in US OTC ADR markets They’re quite possibly identical securities. But as the same can of coke can cost $0.5 in US gas station X, €0.65 in Danish corner shop Y, and £1 in UK airport Z, at the same time, a security’s price is can reflect the environment in which it’s offered.
so when SBRCY Bailout? Im getting kinda nervous. i hold over 5,000 shares now average cost $2.00
Noticed RH is allowing SBRCY trades again
Yolod SBRCY.... either im really stupid or smart (but stupid)
Do you know why it’s trading at 0.05-0.01 range as SBER (4 ord share) vs SBRCY at 0.90?
Sberbank was founded in 1861. It survived WWI, WWII, the rise and fall of the SSSR, Lenin, Stalin, and on and on. I think it will survive this as well. For my money, it's a steal at $1 per share. It might take 3-5 years to get back to $10 a share, but it will get there. Symbol: SBRCY
!remindme 300 days. SBRCY sub $1, will it get back to $10+?
How is SBER:LSE structured? I don't know much about the UK equivalent of depository receipts. But in the US, the SBRCY receipts is 1 ADS to 4 ordinaries. Also - there could be forex differences to account for. Just a guess.
