Non US investor looking for long term etf investments I'm planning to start investing with the goal of compounding, I heard a good strategy is betting on the whole market long term. Since I'm not in the US I was told to seek alternative etfs in Ireland domicile mirroring US ones to lessen the US withholding tax from 30% to 15%. I'm planning to buy this for now: - VWRA which tracks large and mid cap companies around the world. And when I increase my investments I will add these etfs in small percentages to fill in the gap and increase my US stake (hoping to add a bit more growth over the long run): - WSML - small companies in developed markets - XD9U - US only large and mid cap I still haven't bought anything yet, and I would appreciate feedback on my plan.
Hi community, Still a newbie when it comes to investing. Started Jan'22, decent income with savings, 33 years old, based in Europe, with a long term investment horizon. **Portfolio Breakdown:** CROX:18.8% (up 60%) State Bank of India GDR: 16.9% (up 25%) AMD: 12.6% (down 27%) Mahindra&Mahindra GDR: 9.5% (down 7%) Infineon Technologies: 8.6% (up 5%) Main Street Capital: 6.9% (down 6%) Intel: 5.9% (down 26%) Altria Group: 5.3% (down 19%) Infosys Ltd. ADR: 5% (down 2%) Amazon: 4.2% (down 35%) Nio Inc. ADR: 3.6% (down 60%) Palantir: 2.7% (down 50%) \- Aside from this, I'm investing around 400€/month into VWCE+WSML ETFs (70/30 breakdown). \- My biggest losers are thankfully my lowest holdings. \- I'm now thinking of DCA-ing into AMD and perhaps Altria. Conflicted about this though. \- I do have a quite a few ADRs & GDRs of Indian stocks but that's because I'm pretty bullish and confident of that market. This seems to be the way for now that I can gain exposure to that market. Not too sure about the drawbacks of ADRs & GDRs though. Overall, open to feedback and thoughts on the breakdown shared.
iShares WSML (international small cap) also looks very pricey compared to 2020.
VWRA, VWCE, and IWDA are all global and match VT or VTI+VEU (~60/40), not just VTI, which is US only. Unlike VTI, they all lack some small caps so you could add some small caps like the Russell 2000 you mentioned or WSML for global small caps. I don't know the exact percentage if you want to match market cap weights. https://www.justetf.com/en/find-etf.html can help you search for UCITS funds
