Looks like the blockchain announcement is getting some backlash from the fans “GDC's annual developer survey (opens in new tab) found that only 12% of respondents were in favor of using blockchain tech in games, compared to 56% opposed.”
likely to be avatar/polygon exclusive unless they plan to launch some crazy community token initiative using zkevm, which could happen given that polygon is set to make some huge announcements at GDC (running until friday) and when zkEVM launches on the 28th!
GDC(Game Developer Conference- Web3 gaming)2023 is on soon. What do you think about the video game industry from the crypto side? Will their coins gain more attention this year? Like Immutable-X or Illuvium, etc?
FTX was an offshore exchange outside US jurisdiction and that was for a reason. A trust is a heavily regulated financial instrument. Coinbase isn’t going to risk jail time for GDC.
No one: Khaled: selling God Did Coin(GDC)
And going to GDC one time will fully address OPs post? Of course not. It's reddit bro... everyone sharing their stories and discussing, not doing scientific research. You came in hot to argue personal experience is objectively untrue so obviously logic isn't a card you should be playing.
Attending GDC will make my friends value crypto? If you say so...
Objectively untrue. I was at both Basel Miami and GDC. Crypto/blockchain/NFT games are everywhere. Every person at Basel was a game dev from a major studio or publisher building on Solana. Square Enix, Ubisoft, Retro (Nintendo), Microsoft Game Studios, etc.
The latest state of the industry GDC report finds that no one developing NFTs is buying it themselves. Go figure.
tldr; The majority of game developers aren't interested in non-fungible tokens (NFTs) or cryptocurrency, according to the latest GDC State of the Game Industry report. "A vast majority of respondents" expressed monetization concerns, and criticized both technologies for their potential for scamming and their devastating effect on the environment. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. Can someone help me understand this GDC coin on etherscan please? Someone is trying to sell it to me and i think its a pump and dump
You’re neglecting interoperability between games as a function of NFTs - the “metaverse”. The idea of using an item from one game in another game is a very interesting use case. And I agree with the Diablo analogy - I think there’s a GDC talk on it. However, this was an existing game that added a marketplace feature. Imagine there was a game that was designed, from the ground up, around the idea of marketplace. Although there may be similar problems, I see them being less prominent. Pay to win will always be a problem - that is a problem with life in general - but there’s always a way to start from the bottom, and make it to the top. If devs can implement this into a game, people will play. The whole concept just need a little time to develop its own paradigm and mature! Thanks so much for taking the time to write this valuable perspective!!
The coin is called GDC (Green Dildo Coin) and is in devolvement with funding from Viagra, Trojan, and multiple synthetic rubber manufactures. It also has interest from Energizer.
GDC pumping straight to uranus *insert rocket emoji*
New cryptocurrency idea: GDC (Green Dildo Coin) Okay, I actually have no idea where to go from there beyond the name. But I am betting on top 10 coin!
