you know how there's this thing called causality? Causes lead to effects? Right. The thing you're not understanding here is that your immune system is **reactive**. it **does not do anything** **until you are already infected** with a pathogen. what you are proposing is a **proactive** model where somehow your immune system defeats the infection before the infection happens. when you say "infected", what you really **mean** is "symptomatic" and/or "contagious". All the vaccine does is train your immune system so it recognises SARS-CoV-2 for what it is when it enters your body so it reacts more quickly and effectively - there's no "learning period" where all the different types of cells in your immune system figure out how to deal with it. ​ Stop mindlessly repeating vaccine talking points and actually do some research, damn.

I am a scientist working on Covid. I think it is likely that Omicron is marking the beginning of the end of the pandemic and a fairly rapid migration to the endemic stage of the disease. This thinking stems from high infection rates among a population which has already been largely exposed, either through vaccination or previous infection. Omicron itself is likely to be less catastrophic than previous variants in many countries despite high infectivity due, in part, to this underlying immunity within populations, but also due to some antigenic changes within this SARS-CoV-2 variant itself which appear to mitigate more catastrophic outcomes in patients. As Omicron infects the broader population, a greater immunological resilience to Covid will be formed (think of it as an additional vaccine booster). This will likely hold through further mutations of the disease which will continue to infect people, but with milder outcomes, much in the same way to a common cold. Vaccination booster programmes may be continued for some time for older, more vulnerable citizens, but otherwise the general population will be at little risk. TL/DR Omicron is likely the last of the major Covid impacts on the market. Worldwide, impacts and restrictions are likely to ebb from mid to late spring this year.
