There's a project called Niftygotchi $TME is being developed along the lines you mentioned in your post. The game is based on Tamagotchi pets but they'll evolve, battle, retire and die as well. Their aim is to develop the game similar to Pokemon but with new and unique characters.

The game is partially developed and running on Ethereum but the team is working hard on improving the game along with migrating to Matic network. TME is using NFTs to keep it's customers. Ie, something only they can issue. If one company does it, it helps drive adoption for other companies to do the same!
There's one game I know of that fits the bill. The project name is Niftygotchi ($TME), it's based on the 90's popular game of Tamagotchi pets. Here's a list of what you can do with the game; - You start form an egg, hatch it to get a baby pet - You feed it then put it in school where it evolves into a teenager - Then it's time to work in the kitchen until adulthood - After reaching adulthood it's finally time to battle other Tamagotchies - Your pet will then reach a level where it'll further evolves into an elder - Then it's time to retire and earn pension Your pet will go through above mentioned lifecycle and earn the in game currency called $TMC along every stage. $TMC will be used to buy weapons, food and other accessories for your pet which will increase their stats and give them a boost in the battles. The project is on Ethereum right now but the team is in the process of migrating to Matic and developing the said features. Shoutout to Niftygotchi $TME This one I've been following since last November. They're in the process of updating the tokonomics and migrating to Matic right now. No publicity or advertising is done by them yet. They introducing something revolutionary called 'pensions' for early game adopters. I urge you look into them.
