Idk how they could get to supposedly cold keys. Maybe he has a different understanding of what cold means than the rest of the world, i.e. the keys *never* touch a device connected to the internet. *Maybe* one could argue, that the keys are still cold, if they are strongly encrypted, but then that encryption key has to stay cold forever. So better never them touch a hot device, not even encrypted. Or his machine indeed produced low entropy keys due to a bug between the hardware RNG and the compiler he used. Because that is always a possibility, the [Glacier Protocol](https://glacierprotocol.org/) makes the user add manually produced entropy, via casino grade dice, to the keys. So it's always a combination of machine entropy and dice entropy. Really painful to see this happening. Because even the most basic cold storage paperwallet from like 10 years ago, where you copy the bitaddress.org ZIP-file to an offline computer, wiggle the mouse around and print they address/key (or write it by hand), would have been enough to defend against such an attack. That too combines machine entropy and manually created entropy.

I can’t buy them. Are they only available to US users? Card details are correct and there’s sufficient funds. All I can think is Australia doesn’t use ZIP codes, we have four digit postcodes…

As a Canadian, I still have not been able to figure out how to process the payment for the Avatars without receiving an error. Always seems to be regarding the ZIP code. I have tried all the remedies that normally work and that google has to offer to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks! (the only option it gives me is Visa, and that's where the zip code problem takes place)

> Please enter a valid US ZIP code. I'm not from US. But I know that we have other marketplaces here. Most of them suck.

Sha256 is a hash algorithm, you mean something else? I would put it in a 7zip compressed File, 7ZIP supports AES256, which is really safe. But best would be to make a cold wallet on an old computer without network connection or buying a hardwallet

One way: Create a ZIP file. Generate a Strong Password. Encrypt the ZIP file with it. The ZIP file can contain whatever you want. Text, images, videos. Bitcoin seed phrase. Etc. Create and run a simple web service. You log into that service once per month, for example, when you pay your bills. The service logs the date of your most recent log in. You create a special URL for your heir, with its own, unique password. When they log in, the service checks the date of your last login. If it has been, say, one year (or two years) or more since you last logged in, the service presents the Strong Password to them. Otherwise, it sends you an email, snitching on them. Once they have the Strong Password, then can decrypt the ZIP file, get the seed phrase, see the "how to" instructions/links, watch your farewell video, etc.

Brain wallet means you chose a string that gets hashed, and the digest is used to derive a private key So if you have that string, you can recover your private key Go to https://brainwalletx.github.io/ ***VERY IMPORTANT*** DOWNLOAD ZIP VERSION FROM THE LINKS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE, AND RUN ON AN *OFFLINE* DEVICE !!! This is no joke. Never use this tool on an online computer or device When launched on an offline computer, put your string in the "passphrase" field. It will give you a compressed and uncompressed address. Check those addresses against a Blockchain explorer like Bitcoinexplorer.org or mempool.space to see if they have any balance. Cheers

Standard practice...... If a company goes bust, there is a very specific way in which creditors and shareholders are treated. 1. the liquidators get paid, obviously. 2. the secure creditors get paid. (bank loans, VAT , TAX) 3. the unsecure creditors (in this case that would apparently include 'users' as well as other trade creditors. 4. Bond holders 5. Shareholders. The above list is not exhaustive, and the position of TAX and VAT may have changed recently IANAE. So, in general when most companies fold, Bond holders and shareholder get ZIP, ZERO. Trade creditors tend to get pennies in the pound, assuming the secure creditors get paid in full, else they asl get ZIP, ZERO. In short EVERYONE gets paid before shareholders, PERIOD.
