you've said 'hyper hype hype!' Like 80 times as if that is not the ULTIMATE peak signal. The mechanics of the tech doesn't matter, the internet was actually way more revolutionary, but it still inflated like a bubble during .com and crashed. I'm also not even like super anti AI, I'm just capable of putting things in perspective. Like, generative AI has an impossible to shake association with being cheap and shitty due to all those cheap shitty scams it's been used for. LLMs as they're being used by consumers mostly just mass spam the internet and summarize browser searches because advertising has ruined every search engine and website. If we just like cut down advertising by half the day to day use case of LLMs becomes like hyper specific. Ai lies constantly and so puts people in serious trouble whenever it's rolled out en mass to the public as customer service (Like Air Canada https://www.bbc.com/travel/article/20240222-air-canada-chatbot-misinformation-what-travellers-should-know or McDonald's https://museumoffailure.com/exhibition/mcdonalds-ai-failure or Klarna having to backtrack their massive AI rollout. https://sifted.eu/articles/klarna-human-hiring-push) - That Said - Ai is uniquely good at coding and can make simple automation or game dev scripts in an instant making the barrier for entry to Junior Devs or hobbyist way lower. AI is great for translation and voice synthesis which is why we're seeing SOOO many new English Hatsune Miku songs, and esoteric Visual Novel translations, Tsui no Sora anyone? It's good at image recognition and most likely will always have a place in reverse image searches. It's great at data analysis and can instantly do large amounts of tedious data entry work that used to be done by humans using agents especially. It can also sequence proteins, MRNA, and make meat graphs super easily. Notice how all of these are way more fringe and specific, though? Notice how most health tech companies aren't trading at insane 2 trillion dollar valuations, or the use cases when described are mostly for experts or hobbyists? Notice how most CONSUMER interactions with Ai are negative to tedious because it's being shoved into everything now (like Co-poilet) is taking things that worked (like costumer services) and making them not work, and is associated with scammy garbage like 'The Willy Wonka Experience'. Now, how are they going to increase revenue when ai is already mass saturated in the SaaS market, consumers hate it, and hobbyists won't pay like a 200 dollar subscription? Then take into account the HARDWARE BUILT OUT which makes AI uniquely expensive and hard to train. The Data centers will probably be built and then their values will probably plummet when the bubble pops leaving a whole bunch of companies under water asset purchases, real estate investments, and probably years worth of contractual obligations to make MORE. This is why it's a bubble. These valuations are unsustainable. Also, the opaque nature of private credit at our current HIGH interest rates and changes to shell company reporting rules allowing who's liable for what ro become murky, means there is 100% INSANE amounts of debt off the books in SPVs. THESE ARE THE MECHANICS THAT LEAD TO THE 2008 FINANCIAL CRISIS BTW. There's a chance when this bubble pops There's so many liabilities that companies like OpenAI go under leading to insane economic turmoil. Clearly you haven't seen a bubble like because literally you sound IDENTICAL to guys who had to eat breakfast, dinner, AND lunch when the Web 3.0 bubble popped.

Well, that was kind of silly. News like what MRNA had is going to lead to volatility. If you couldn’t handle a 15% drop when it more than doubles in a day, you shouldn’t have bought. However, you probably should have held or just bought more. The market has no idea how to price this right now. This is not just one drug, it is a proof of principle that an entire class of drugs, for which MRNA has many in the pipeline, are not just viable therapeutics, but seriously game changing treatments for some of the worlds biggest killers.
The party was over yesterday. MRNA is a horribly run company, was shorted, came out with a nice trial and, well blew up. Is was certainly coming back down today.
