1). Specialized training does not mean college. 2). You already have specialized training (the CDL) 3). Investing 2k a year sounds like McDonald’s fry station income, hence the assumption you have no specialized training, but you actually do
I am not going to go deep in debt just to get a college education when I am going make about $60-62k this year working as a city employee with a class-A CDL.
Remember a few years ago when the trucking industry’s conversion to self-driving trucks had people telling CDL’s they should learn to code? I wonder how many truckers did a boot camp or something just to now have AI take all those jobs away lmfao
monke doesn't want to get rich anymore. Monke just wants enough left for the CDL deposit. https://preview.redd.it/ri641sc1zech1.jpeg?width=320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91d97f310f31f9bbbe965990a98f41800899aa85
yes, and notice it's the only asset on the screen still holding value. robinhood saw the 99.89% and started showing you your next career, go get the CDL.
She got a CDL for that dumptruck she’s got there?
Better start practicing to get your CDL license!
Get to know Uber really well if you like to party and drink with friends, it will keep your life in order. Zero tolerance is a reality for a CDL, don't rinse with alcohol based mouthwash either.
Jokes on you, I'm getting my CDL now and I'll be the one driving the bus.
CDL He’s got cheese running through his vein
Hey just in case anyone is wondering, all the awful shit about to happen in private credit? I called it back in December, perfectly. Long story short, Neoclouds over borrowed to build into Nvidia's ecosystem, and now there are multiple new large competitors coming up with their own chips and ecosystems, the neoclouds have a ton of bad debt that is sitting on rotting old GPU's that never even paid back THEIR OWN debt, much less are helping pay the new debt. They've all become Ponzi scheme, which were bundled into CDL's and sold to investors much more broadly than should have been allowed to occur. Because, of course, they're all in bed with each other. https://open.substack.com/pub/nullemergence/p/the-big-short-20-the-subprime-ai
Statistically more likely to happen with a domicile CDL btw.
They just be giving CDL’s to anyone
I’ll haul it for you I have my hazmat on CDL.
Drove for 20 years started off as a courier class A CDL with hazmat, pretty sure I know.
You can drive anything without a CDL as long as it's under 26k pounds (except hazmat or a ton of people)
Or you'll get rammed by a non-domiciled CDL in flip flops who's playing on his phone
Can spy just hit 691 so I can get out and watch major 1 of the CDL please? Thanks
Bad idea. I'm a trucker and I love trucking but it takes years of experience and/or back breaking work to make $10k/month. A new CDL holder is doing quite well if they make $5k/month.
Check on r/truckers for the reality of the situation. The trucker economy is hit and miss. If you can, you might find a company that pays for you to get your CDL while you work for them.
The transports sector i.e. trucking and logistics. When add inputs such as CDL driver shortage (some truckers have been deported), huge stimulus to the economy next year with the BBB, and low gas prices. This is something that could be a big year for logistics companies.
My sister was livid yesterday, she went out grocery shopping and was hollering about how grapes are are like $6 a lb all of a sudden. The usual price we paid for grapes went about 2.5x within a couple weeks. Told her: "you know why? its prob cuz tens of thousands of immigrants lost their CDL licenses, so nobody's trucking shit rn"
Yep. It’s called career choice. It’s awesome. I knew a lot of people who were studying for IT roles, CDL, data analysis. It’s a cool benefit, I wish salary had access lol
Amazon is not getting rid of any jobs, this is a clickbait title. They're using AI advancements in new buildings launched and will need to hire 600,000 *less* people over the next *8 years*. Also, Amazon offers career choice to all full time hourly associates after 90 days of employment. Amazon will pay 100% for select programs including trades, nursing, getting your CDL. This is already available and I can tell you less than 1% of associates take advantage of the program. Most of the hourly associates at Amazon don't want to move up or study or learn new jobs. They just want a paycheck.

I am starting to actually see a lot of deflation in the economy. Freight rates are down with fewer drivers on the road (CDL crackdown on immigrants) Produce prices are crashing (Avocado, potato, onion, tomato, limes, peppers, etc…) Rental prices are going down. All of these indicate lower demand- so low that I can’t give certain products away in my job to generate sales.
Buttttttttt do you have a CDL ?
I'm in DFLI for the moment. DVLT and RDZN as well, am watching WWR and CDL, all are green. would sell if they fall substantially.
Damn, I'm not a chatgpt to do a research, heck knows what's with the company. I'm in DFLI, DVLT and RDZN, watching WWR and CDL right now
Link to my blacklist [Link](https://www.reddit.com/r/pennystocks/comments/1oiy7xm/comment/nlznrp8/?context=1) DFLI - Is my most favorite play, cleared out their debt, ER should look good according to released preliminary report, they are still unprofitable but are actively reducing losses, they secured lots of funding, grants, patents recently and are partnering with big companies owning 70% of the RV market. No news rn, so it's barcoding, waiting on ER 14th DVLT - Has a lot of chances to breakout and stay away from $3 pennystock mark, lots of royalties, acquisitions and positive news about their data center. the only problem is that they had a really bad Q2 ER, but it seemed the stock recovered from it. My opinion is that it's overbought right now and should fall to 2.7, but I CAN be wrong. RDZN - have lots of navigation systems software and devices to sell. recent acquisitions, plans to expand worldwide and relatively good financial sheet gives me confidence, though they are in a highly competitive market and may not get their niche. Worth mentioning : WWR, CDL.
This company was failing long before tariffs - the whole trucking industry is in a recession and has been for years due to COVID oversupply when rates spiked. Every tom dick and harry bought a truck and became a CDL in 2021.
If you have 1,000 employees and 900 of them are fraudulently licensed fake CDL holders who never even drove a hatchback car before they snuck into the U.S., it can go quick.
Homie you are truly blessed. . I hope you know that .. and I hope you do something with it... 25k would completely change my life . Id get my Dls, car and get in CDL School 😢
That’s interesting, I’m also color blind according to my CDL medical exams but Mine is intermittent so the colors go grey on screen for me on occasion but not always and I see sheen vividly. I used the TOS for paper trading back when it was TDA but haven’t really even thought about it since then and never got the fear feeling that I needed as you do when real money is involved. I’m about 6 yrs in to trading but amateur at best even still. Made some really good and some really devastating trades in that time. I attribute luck to some of the initial wins CEI made me 33k overnight (purely by luck of timing) and lack of control for some of the losses. Although an App crash lost 21k one day on SpY 0DTE (couldn’t log back in for 10mins, too late by the time I was back in)and then the BBBY BS lost 32k in 7mins in the after hours that afternoon. GME has been a fairly decent hold once I finally DCAd to a decent avg. but I mainly only trade SPY puts now.
Go get a CDL or learn how to weld bud. There’s other industries outside of tech.
Or the class a CDL with hm
I got my CDL so I can buy more options
**CDL** - * City Developments Limited, sometimes also known as CityDev, is a Singaporean multinational real estate operating organisation. Founded in 1963, CDL first developed projects in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, as well as in Singapore.* Just thought it was weird for him to capitalize stuff and felt like posting this for the record if anything come up, I want that Nostradamus Karma.
Mate just take a walk into the woods with a steel metal butt plug and invest in CDL training
Line switching, testing, maintenance of power equipment in a substation, ranging in voltage from 120V to 500kV (4kV/12kV/138kV/500kV breakers and transformers mainly). Respond to storms, patrol lines, establish clearances for work to be performed safely. Some construction, new equipment installation, site inspections, and random things that pop up. I got my CDL (not **that** fun) and crane license (very fun) through the company, and I've met some really interesting and intelligent/funny people via work.
Get that CDL-A pulling doubles overnight. I was making $2500/wk 3-4 years ago when I worked for XPO.
marco rubio cancelled their CDL's already.
Depends from where? India? Go get your CDL and practice u-turns on the freeway.
Yep. I'm in supply chain/manufacturing for a fairly large food company, about a decade of experience. This is pretty spot on, all fairly large food companies have some kind of safety stock for non perishable or long shelf life food. This is similar across most industries and in some cases (confections for example) and some products need to be conditioned for a few months before hitting store shelves. For example, chocolate peak season production starts in June/July for the Halloween & Holiday rush. We are about to enter Q4, and as a disclaimer, I'm not an economic commodity expert, but from what I know about production and supply chain ops, I don't think it will be until after the holiday season (post peak consumer spending season/discounts/safety stocks fully depleted) that we will really start feeling the affect of tariffs. The commodities being hit with tariffs is what's being produced or sourced right now...but won't hit shelves for a few weeks to months. And some companies will most certainly be increasing their prices now, even though the product was produced pre tariff. Of all things, im much more interested to see what will happen within transportation (tractor/trailers, etc). Cargo value will increase, higher insurance and risk...therefore I expect linehaul rates to rise. I suppose I should start working on my CDL.
They’ve been talking about it over in r/trucking a lot the past couple of years. They are cracking down, but several states used to let you get a non-domiciled CDL. So you didn’t have to be a resident of that state to get a CDL.
I honestly had no idea illegal immigrants could obtain a CDL.. wtf I thought that industry was heavily regulated 🧐 they’re just giving mango lay ups at this fucking point
My father quit his job and got his CDL at 40 because he realized how far behind he was on his retirement. It's great money in the short term (\~4-5 years) and has since racked up about 200k in savings over that time (he perfectly timed the AMC squeeze, luckily, so dont go thinking its a get rich quick) but holy shit if it weren't for his ongoing bachelor lifestyle it would have been nigh impossible and has wrecked any semblance of a social life he would have built in that time. What im saying, is that if anyone out there is in that same position he is, it's NOT a bad idea to go trucking for a few years to try and catch up on your retirement savings at 100k/yr income.
Why in the world would your wife let you do options for a living??? . Your family needs a steady income with health insurance. Look for a job at the TSA or post office. Get your CDL to drive a bus or truck in a union shop. Good luck
You can do everything by the book - seatbelt on, both hands on the steering wheel, phone turned off, etc etc, but the second an idiot behind the wheel of a 40 ton machine decides it’s the perfect time to run a red light because “this intersection is always empty”, you’re very much cooked. Statistically tho there are way less idiots operating commercial aircraft, takes much longer and way more effort to get licensed than to get a CDL for example.
My husband is an OTR trucker. Can confirm things have been slow for about a month and a half now. They haven't entirely dropped off, but his miles are down considerably, more time spent sitting, and ice raids are leading to warehouses in some areas being severely short staffed so loading and unloading is way longer and the morale of their workers is down sharply. He has also run across a few of the weigh stations where they're doing the english proficiency tests and pulling CDL's. So that's also a factor in what you're seeing. They've already yanked a few hundred thousand drivers, and we have a total of around 3.5 million drivers across the industry in the US. Last count was something like 200k.
Yeah I have to move out of my apartment soon and it looks like my mortgage plus all the associated costs for one of these would be about what I’m about to pay for a new rental. Only issue is I don’t live in the area so I’d have to find a new job but I feel like I’m pretty hirable. I don’t smoke weed or do drugs so could always go get my CDL or something if I couldn’t find a job I particularly wanted
If I make +$1k in calls by next week, I will pursue my CDL training.
There might be a lack of CDL truckers because Trump just mandated everyone has to speak English in street signs or something
My husband has a CDL and I know its not glamorous or great money but he is a school bus driver and they are desperate for people everywhere to do this job. If you have a clear criminal record and get your passenger certification you guys could pivot to that. Kids still need to get to school...I mean until they get rid of public education at least.
That "stock split" was so odd that I had to go research it. It seems to be a weird artifact reflecting the [spinoff of ABC Radio into Citadel Broadcasting](https://thewaltdisneycompany.com/disney-announces-details-for-completion-of-spin-off-and-subsequent-merger-of-abc-radio-business/), in which DIS holders received approximately .0768 shares of CDL for each share of Disney. CDL/DIS ratio was roughly 5.81/33.56 = .173. It looks like the way Yahoo finance (and others?) model that is by effectively pretending you immediately sold the CDL and rebought DIS. So .0768 * .173 is .0133, hence the 1.0136:1 split value (it doesn't work out exactly because I don't have the historical price for CDL on exactly the right date). As far as the stock certificate goes, I think you would actually have received 2 shares of CDL plus been cashed out for the fractional .53 shares for about 3 bucks. Citadel was down to a value of a penny a share within 2 years, was delisted in March 2009, and bankrupt by 2010.
I hope Amazon weathers out this shit storm. Don't want to lose my job in transportation operations management if volume nosedives. Got my CDL paid for by Amazon and now I'm using their career choice to get a degree in logistics
The EO is redundant as proficiency in English was already a requirement for their CDL.
How do you think people get their CDL? He invented a fake problem.
I would guess he would make the DOT CDL tests English only? That would force someone to be ok with English to pass it.
It \*MIGHT\* happen in our lifetimes, but self driving CDL trucks that a company would be able to trust with their cargo, legally use, and get insurance for is not happening in Trump's lifetime, nor most of Congress's lifetime.
**My** car...? Are you ***STUPID***? ...I'll use a 26ft UHaul truck, the largest UHaul I can operate without a CDL. The Canadians will really appreciate all the fertilizer I bring them after Trump threatens war again. Maybe I'll even wear camo so I blend in with the trees up there. >!CSIS, this. is. a. **joke**. !<
It will be Tesla bots working those jobs they already started at BMW in Greenville with robots people are pissed, next will be Tesla semis delivering goods instead of CDL drivers musk is in the long game
Fox news opening segment 4pm news? Truck Masters USA ... get you CDL before the rush Ironically good advice.
The difference between a car crash and a flying car crash is that the car on the road is limited by forward velocity and whatever is on the ground plane. A flying car crash also can and will hit buildings, and gravity will pull it down onto anything that is below that as well. Cars are also much less damaging than other vehicles such as semis, which require a CDL to drive. Semis still can't come close to the destruction that a flying car crash can cause. Flying cars would be a huge issue with the average everyday person at the wheel, and it only gets exponentially worse when the irresponsible ones decide to drink and fly. Tech *still* doesn't manage to make up for our failures as humans on the road. What makes you think it'll be able to handle it in 5 to 10 years while adding a third dimension into the mix?
I'm going to post my investment thesis on $OAM shortly. But here is the breakdown. The valuation of the company should be between $115 - $155M versus the $38M that is today, which would bring the stock to $0.96 - $1.25. **Valuation Method** Digital Media (2–3x 2025 Revenue). $60M–$90M Franchise Ownership (LEC + CDL). $55M–$65M Total Implied Value. $115M–$155M

Time to get me CDL innit😭
“Needing a CDL is fascism” lmaooo
Because the GCVWR on them is north of 30k and it serves no purpose to someone going to the store. You need a CDL. I have one and you still won’t catch me driving the toolmobiles to the store.
I don’t see why you would need a CDL if you’re not using the vehicle for commercial purposes. A Cummins is still under the size requirements for a CDL. I agree with you though, there’s no reason a soccer mom needs a truck of that size to pick up the kids. But then again most Americans don’t use their trucks for actual labor or hauling purposes.
No. The deregulation of large vehicles killed the sedan. Sedans exist everywhere else that don’t have 3500 duallys as daily drivers on the road. Why we even allow this shit in the US is still beyond me. Why you are still allowed to buy a 2500 Cummins Ram without a CDL and out passenger plates on it? There’s absolutely zero fucking reason Cheryl needs that to take the kids to school.
as a chemist with an MS working in my field, I totally get this sentiment. I have been tempted to leave it all to be a machinist or CDL trucking gig. their pay rate is so much better than mine and theyre located all over the country and not just in high cost of living areas.
I’m not an investor or in finance at all. I’m just a lowly construction worker, but I like to lurk in here to see what people with money are thinking in regards to the economy in the near future. Y’all are usually somewhat more levelheaded than other subreddits on stuff like that. I do underground utility construction. Running a directional boring machine. Kinda technical work, takes a few months of on the job training to reach the equivalent of journeyman status. The illegal immigrant presence has been overall harmful to your average American in this industry. A qualified underground utility operator, with a class A CDL, commands easily $30 an hour base rate, usually with a company truck provided, hotel room paid for and around $50 per day in additional per diem. Probably about a $500 per day cost. American companies that do things the right way have to hire guys like me at a rate like that to comply with American laws. Then you’ve got a company started by an immigrant, that has no problem violating those laws. They hire all their guys in at a rate of around $100 per day, sometimes $200 if the guy speaks English and can talk to the inspectors. And those companies are the ones my company has to bid against for work. It’s almost impossible to compete.
He’s gotta be right? Someone pissed this dude off. I think someone with a CDL fucked his lady
Why is it always mfers with a CDL who comment garbage like this 😂
My guy you play Overwatch and have a CDL im not taking advice from you

Yes you regard. A robot isn't going to get out and pre trip and do slack adjustments and load binders. A robot is not going to pass a DOT inspection because the driver is responsible for the load. That responsibility can't be deferred to owners which is why CDL drivers are responsible for pre trips and refusal of unsafe loads.
If you're old enough for a CDL-A, I can't recommend that route enough. When I drove for XPO a few years back and guy came in having never driven a manual before (and they are far harder than a passenger vehicle manual), and made 100k (before taxes) his first year. I made 83k my first year, but that was 2019.
You're still making bus pass money for now, when you have this little to lose you can bet it all on yourself every day. I think the shortest way to increase your income now would be a CDL, take classes on your laptop while driving and saving, go to a formal college or trade school, and move from there. If you want a car, buy a Ford transit or similar and start a lawn care or power washing/detail business/mobile tint. With this diverse experience, you can be valued for many niche executive roles.
Im only 19 so I could do quite a few things, with 30k I would hold onto that money and be able to comfortably pursue what I wanna do and it turn out even better for me. With 130k I could A. Put a downpayment on a house around maybe 200-300k, that way I get out of renting and can actually put money into a home I own and sell it for more a few years later. B. I could figure out a business to start up, start small. Or C. Hold that money, get my CDL and become a trucker makin bank while im stacked, dont gotta live nowhere except on the road constantly making money without too much expense (besides food and basic needs)
Here is my opinion, flame me for it if you want. If cannabis was made federally legal tomorrow, I don’t think it’s going to change much in demand unless it is also coupled with legislation that forbids employers from drug testing for it. For everyone that already consumes regularly. Cannabis can we gotten easily both legally and illegally. Legally most states of medical laws now, you can buy THC at most gas stations because of the 2018 farm bill, and illegally the prices are absolutely dirt cheap. Cheaper than I’ve seen them in 15 plus years since I first smoked. The problem with uncapping demand is that there are tens of millions of people prohibited from smoking due to drug tests. Goverment and military, truck drivers, equipment operators, construction, security, mining, oil and gas, manufacturing etc. I personally know, in my small circle, several dozen people who would smoke regularly, including myself, if we weren’t drug tested for it. Now you’re thinking “if it’s legal they can’t drug test for it” and that’s simply not true. With insurance costs at all time highs, agencies always reward additional drug testing policies, and employers aren’t going to care unless mandated. There are 2.2 million CDL holders alone who can’t smoke unless DOT regulations are changed.
Not anyone, anyone hauling commercially. Grandpa hauling his camper recreationally doesn’t need a CDL. Ford has done the same thing raising the F250 GVWR to over 11,000 pounds on most models unless you pay to have your truck derated from the manufacturer. Due to this change now if you drive an F-250 from job site to job site or in a business use role the truck needs a dot number even if it’s not hauling a trailer.

The 3500 Dually is now rated 14,000 lbs GVWR. The previous generation 3500 Dually had a GVWR of 12,000 lbs. For the uninitiated, what this has done has made it necessary for ANYONE pulling a trailer with either actual weight, or the "stickered' weight rating over 12,000 lbs to have to get a CDL. The only way for NEW CDLs to be issued is to go to a CDL/Truck driving school, pay $7-10,000, and learn how to drive a semi truck, over a 4-6 week full time courses. At least with the previous generation, most 5th wheel trailers, and many recreational trailers were under 14,000 lbs. The limit is a combined weight or combined RATING of 26,000 lbs. I think this factor has contributed to the decline in sales of that configuration. (3500 Dual Rear wheel). If they scale that model back to pre 2018 specs, it may reopen that sector to non-cdl trailer owners.
Buy a course to get your CDL and then you can make 80k a year or more
Get your CDL and then get a better plan than what you have. You can make 40k a year being the bottom rung fueling trucks and checking tires at a terminal. Look higher in the profession. much higher.
It's all fun and games until the gang comes for you.. I wouldn't scab against organized criminals. They are fighting so hard against automation because of the billions of dollars in crime that happens at those ports. International crime syndicates all need those ports. You could just get a CDL or something lol.
Just get a CDL and any food delivery job, $50/hr
Enrolling on a CDL program by monday...**.💰**
What are some better places to invest in a CD than my local Credit Union? I am new to investing and I am hoping to find a reasonable return on my investment through CD. I was looking at some local banks and they would maybe give me 4%. I am hoping that I can get a bigger return somewhere, I would ask for your advice and experience in this. I have also tried looking into Annuities, but all the videos I see about them are of scams or why to not buy into annuities. Can someone also explain this? I am in the works of attaining my CDL for on the road trucking and when I am out there I would like to see some gains, I am single, and my only expenses would be food and my phone on the road.
Or get a CDL and drive semis.
WFH or Open a nice dive bar with a grill that serves good burgers, like something 'pnoozi's signature burger' etc or Get a CDL and become an OTR truck driver if you're close enough to a hub or Become a lineman and get a job with the county, or poice . . . There are some options, but much less than in a big city
I don’t have a CDL, sorry.
Wouldn’t be surprised if youve claimed asylum, if not, i wouldn’t be surprised if they’re driving without it if they havent even gotten their papers. im Mexican but im mainly talking about african races or european, I worked at a tow office earlier this year and the amount of times id get “Trucker” from immigrants getting their cars back was ridiculous. When id ask the tow truck drivers wanting to get their CDL their connections would tell them that as well
Can you get a CDL without legal status?
or all the truckers losing their jobs because companies are bringing in illegal immigrants or aiding them in getting their CDL so they can pay them half of what they pay a citizen. Immigrants will take whatever they can get and when you have a massive increase then wages are never going to be fixed for us ameripoors.
