here’s where my head’s at for aug/early sept (dates move, so DYOR): keeping an eye on IOBT after the topline P3 in melanoma, want to see follow-ups on durability/OS, plus any partner chatter and how they handle financing; CYTK for late-stage cardiomyopathy and how they pace the reg/launch story; VKTX across obesity/NASH where study design and tolerability matter more to me than headline hype; IMTX on TCR/T-cell durability and the exact wording around the registrational path; IOVA where it’s all about commercial execution and label expansions now; and SGMT as a mid-to-late NASH name where runway and phase-transition risk are front and center. i’ve been cleaning watchlists, re-reading protocols/SAPs, and tagging spots where label language could be the swing factor. also journaling each idea with simple if/then exits (e.g., approval + boxed warning = fade. clean label + no REMS = consider holding into early launch metrics). Not advice, just sharing how i’m approaching it. if you’re tracking other late-stage names or a weird PDUFA setup this month, drop it below and let’s sanity-check together.
For August, I'm focusing on PDUFA plays and mid-stage companies. Still holding onto my REPL, FDMT, CMRX, VKTX, and CYTK positions, along with some other, riskier early-stage stuff. I'm already seeing money starting to flow back into commercial and late-stage biotech. If that trend holds for another quarter, we might finally be able to call it, the bottom is in, and the cycle is starting to run upwards. happy investing/trading!
Imagine being long all the stocks that are down today (UNH, BYD, CYTK) BYD is the most frustrating given that it's eating Tesla's lunch all over the world outside the USA and somehow Tesla just keeps getting bids for the CEO showing back up for work, I guess.

Youre betting on experiments. You have no idea what the data will show and it is expensive. You really need to be in the field to understand. I work for a CRO and work with hundreds of biotech companies. I follow their pipeline. For example, the beginning of this year I bought 150 shares of Vrtx and 1000 shares of CYTK...both popped by the end of this year bc I knew which of their compounds are going to be successful. I'm selling out CYTK just ahead of them submitting their next compound for FDA market approval but holding VRTX. VRTX is a machine of a company

Was down 225$ in one and a half minutes yesterday buying CYTK but held like a moron/big balls and only lost 13$ by the time i sold.

A company with 13% SI on a strong stock with momentum and good news is a better squeeze play than a stock with 30% or more short interest that's garbage and been in the dumps and is looking to dilute (TRKA, NVOS, MCOM a few junkers that come to mind that were pushed heavily here). Every single short on CYTK is underwater right now. Most to the tune of 100% or more.

CYTK premiums are crazy.
They probably have some news coming out soon. Not knowing what CYTK does and just looking at the options, volatility is high suggesting CYTK has a higher probability to move about 22 points in one direction (up or down). If there is a 20 point move, that would put CYTK at $16, where you would take that $1400+commission loss.
Do you have any thoughts on $CYTK? The phase 3 clinical trial for aficamten is underway and the phase 2 data looks great.
