Is it redundant to own VTI and VXUS and still have FXAIX and FZILX? Trying to rebalance my Roth portfolio. Mostly own vti and vxus and have some shares of FDEGX. Not sure if i should swap it for FXAIX and FZILX or just sell and put the money into VTI/VXUS.
I experienced both. 2008 wasn’t too bad for me. Dot com was terrible. I was a young investor and lost 75% in FDEGX (I think that’s right). It was Fidelity Aggressive Growth Fund. I had inherited a small amount of banks stock, but it wasn’t doing much, so I sold it to keep the Fidelity when I bought my first house. Big mistake. Fidelity went way down and bank was bought out by BB&T and then later Truist! Worst play ever. I even cashed out Fidelity, and then cancelled the trade because it had been so lucrative and the bank stock was doing nothing. Sucked really bad.
