I've owned Brookfield (and KBR, Veolia, AECOM) at different points...but I can't figure out how to trade the sector. I agree that the global need is fundamentally there, but I suspect that some of the better companies are either private or State owned (like the Chinese infrastructure companies). Water infrastructure (specifically Mueller, MWA) was a good trade for me a few years ago, but I'm out of that trade at this point. I also like nuclear as a LT thesis...but haven't done enough research to figure out a trade (I do have some of the nuclear IPP's). Would love to spitball if you have ideas! Frankly, gold/silver is my alternative asset/changing credit play. My positions started as a hedge...but over the last 2 years, my hedge has increasingly become the trade. I think it's going to take awhile, but McWilliams' book has really convinced me that we will see a return to commodity money in our lifetimes. If it sticks, I think the Reserve Bank of India's forthcoming acceptance of silver as collateral is a wobbly first step in this direction...and if this begins happening more broadly, I think this will be an exceptionally disruptive paradigm shift.

200 WMA is not useful in this situation at all. It is easy to say the 200 MWA is a great indicator when you only look at periods when the markets go up. You clearly have little to no experience, nor have you actually studied what happened in 2020, or from 2022-2023, 2007-2009, 2000-2003, etc. The VIX has moved some, but not as much as it should have given the outflows in the back half of last week. The TLT barely moving over this same period in addition to the lack of movement in the VIX is actually what has me the most worried about this wholeistically.

There are 4 primary things that can affect options pricing, these can be measured by parameters called the "Greeks". 1. Underlying asset price (in this case, the price of MWA). The effect of the underlying price on the price of the option is measured by the Greek Delta. For every $1 the underlying moves, the price of the option contract will change by Delta. Delta is negative for puts and positive for calls. As the stock moves higher, calls get more expensive.  2. Implied volatility (IV%), measured by Vega. For a 1% change in IV, the options price will increase by Vega. Vega is positive for both calls and puts.  3. Passage of time, as measured by Theta. For every calendar day that passes, the options price will decrease by Theta.  4. Interest rates, as measured by Rho. Unless you're trading LEAPS options (1+ year expiration) and holding them for a long time, Rho basically doesn't matter.  I would be remiss if I didn't mention Gamma, which measures how much Delta changes for every $1 change in the underlying. This is technically considered a second-order Greek, but it's usually lumped in Delta, Theta, and Vega.  Any halfway decent brokerage platform will calculate and display the Greeks for you.  Try and look back to see which of these 3 Greeks (Delta, Vega, or Theta) caused the price of your call option to change. It's really valuable to screenshot the options chain/order ticket when you enter your trade so you can do this kind of retrospective analysis.  Options execution is very important. As others have mentioned, bid/ask spread comes into play much more for options than stock. There is almost never a situation where you should enter a market order for options, always use limit orders. Don't trade options on underlying with really wide bid/ask spreads. You'll lose your butt to slippage.  Look up any of these terms on Investopedia or YouTube. Options learning curve is much higher than stocks.

I should post some DD on a long play, think wsb would appreciate that more than a short. I think people are overlooking infrastructure, like water (MWA, NWPX) and electrical (IESC). In software I think FRSH is worth looking at these levels.

Water is viewed as a commodity resource when it’s really a luxury resource. As climate change accelerates droughts and sea levels rise, clean fresh water becomes more of a rarity. The most recent example of this is the fight between the states with access to the Colorado River—there wasn’t enough water to go around for both the farms and civilians, so they’ve had to ration it. I invested in various types of companies, but it was generally around water infrastructure like pumping and filtration systems. The US also has a very old water infrastructure system that’s in need of repair, so I tried to get in early at companies like XYL, AWK, PNR, and MWA. Those first three are my best performers, but I also started buying into FIW, a water ETF circa 2020-21, early in the pandemic

I didn't downvote you, but it looks like about +280% vs +230%, not counting dividend returns. So yes, it beat the S&P, but I don't know that I'd call it crushed. I'd also add that I wouldn't currently invest in many of the last 10 years' top performers in FIW. I actually divested from a couple of them over valuations. I think there are some real value gems in there, though. I really like PNR and MWA. I also think XYL is great but not at current prices.

I believe that buying $ZKIN now is like buying $WTS, $IO, $B and $MWA when they were just a few dollars. Fundamentals are solid, business value is solid. Unlike the other companies, $ZKIN is also a blockchain play through its xSigma subsidiary. I see an easy 2-3x next year.

Ya the options would sell 100%, and very easily, and very profitable if it became itm with 2 days left on the option. It depends on the stock and its option activity. 1) GME - Highly volatile and large options activity (because of its volatility) You're gonna have an easy time selling these options for intrinsic value + time value all the way up to lets say, 1 hour left on the contract. Of course time value would be very small because there is only 1 hour left on the contract. 2) MWA - Very low volatility stock, no option activity, large spreads. If you buy an MWA option you're pretty much gonna kiss ur money goodbye as you'll have a hard time finding a buyer. You need real conviction that the price of MWA is gonna go up or down. In this scenario it might make sense to exercise options
