Thank you, helpful article. I'm not sure I agree on your assessment of some of the comparable tech, specifically Rigetti, but great information, nevertheless. Quantum computing is getting a lot of press for its potential in some limited application areas, but it has another set of features that is somewhat disconcerting, and potentially valuable: many "NP hard" computing problems are solvable in constant or O(N) time using quantum computers. This is going to introduce disruption in areas like cryptography - it is not clear that prime factoring is NP to begin with, and highly unlikely that it is NP in quantum calculations... virtually a certainty that it is not. That means that many current cryptography techniques are toast, to put it mildly. If you think a lot of hacking is going on now, wait a few months until the black-hat contingent figures out how to steal and use quantum computers. It will take a while for accretive processing to hit the market, but count on destructive tech to hit way sooner. IMHO

I don't think it's massive amounts, but it's enough to show that people need to be creative to move spending off mainland China. Of course a crackdown can be made, but they don't. Doesn't seem practical. But the result has been that you can buy Rolex Daytonas some 20-30% cheaper than at home, I literally flipped one watch each time I traveled to visit my friend in HK. NP - I think big money moves in and out of stocks for reasons more complex that I can get out of reading financials, but the places I always look when trying to understand long term movement are: 1. Cash flow/earnings (then less important is sales) 2. Debt and financing How these two things push/pull and project over the next 5 years is what typically makes me want to buy or stay away from a particular company.

NP, i've been looking at shorting MNDY too. I'm a bit cautious though because I never expected it to get this high in the first place. I started watching it around 200 and it has doubled in a couple weeks. I've heard this run is largely due to a slow squeeze on very low float so who knows how high it runs. The risk/reward has to be getting pretty good though and some big put spreads were opened today

There's a medical crisis in the US and it will only get worse. More senior population, rising costs, medicine run by insurance companies and politics, doctors quitting and less medical students (explains rise in NP, RN). Teledoc and others are going to get bigger but only if they can find doctors and wait times will increase (already happening). Stay healthy folks, it's one of the best investments you can make.

Have a cold and want medicine not available over the counter such as codeine cough syrup? Have a fever and aren't sure if you need to go to the ER and want to talk to a doctor/NP?There's plenty of random reasons outside of this too. Telehealth isn't meant to be a catch all for every issue. It's a first point of professional care that can route you to an in person visit if necessary. It saves money on both sides of the transaction and is more convenient being able to do this in your bed while sick.

NP, I'm not an expert on this stuff but you can take that info and verify it yourself, use it as a baseline. the superstonk sub does have good DD but even they have some popular posts that are misleading, so take it with a grain of salt. The real issue is that the markets are designed to hide so much data from us, especially hedge fund short position data, that lots of the squeeze thesis is speculative. Its very risky, and why you see lots of volatility/manipulation. Even if everything we are saying is true, they don't play fair so the chance of all of us getting fucked somehow is still there.

Yes, but my life situation has become more complicated financially -thankfully in a good way - over the years that I try to minimize/maximize certain aspects accordingly. Because of all of the other shit my tax guy has to track for us (by luck of life more than any real skill in 2020 we filed as married, with a mortgage+property taxes, I have RSU shares, I have ESPP shares, my partner had grad school payments for tax credit, my partner had their own ESPP, we got 2 banking sign on bonuses, we had to cover costs for domestic partner benefits, my partner had to pay back a time gated sign on bonus for leaving a company before 3 years, and we both had taxable Robinhood accounts we fucked around in). Each different thing is charged differently by my tax professional and Fidelity sends the ESPP and RSU in an already hard to follow format; options would definitely raise our tax preparation costs (and lead to an interesting talk about responsible investing from him, he's a great guy who wouldn't overstep but I don't need that "I'm disappointed" look from him knowing I'm gambling to some extent on options haha) so I figured why not use a Roth? If I get lucky on a play I don't get taxed on it, and I don't have to factor 10-25% tax into my calculations for successful trades, especially the ones where I roll it out for minimal gains. We put way more in 401Ks than in Roth even as we max Roths... Employer match should be thought of as literally part of your salary, good on you for spotting it. If an employer has shitty 401k offerings I would recommend leveraging for a higher pay. Looking back I can believe how much money I left on the table at one of my jobs by not utilizing the 401k. Then if you leave roll it over to your new employer or some other account and pick the funds or shares you want, win/win.

NP it was risky because obviously what I'm seeing could be wrong and this could be FUD. Price action so far is juicy but clearly my DD implies a high PT. Bunch of ways to trade this and have good profit rn, fundamental you could hold because its undervalued, or you could play market techs, or even swing it its shown the same exact pattern since Thursday (15th) each day price spike then retracement eod, though the retracements are getting shallower. So, you could have a real solid profit already depending on trading style. Last DD I posted was a rough draft DD for the stock that rhymes with egg so people could figure out what was going on since the price action was crazy at the time w/o an obvious catalyst and new media kept blaming retail. That DD was for informational purposes only even though I wrote it a week before the crazy action. Anyway, people kept asking me why I posted late. So this time I decided to roll the die. Don't know if i'll do this again, and takes a lot of time since you want to be precise and fact check. Try not to get stuck with bags and have a number when you'll exit srs. It's always easier to exit when the price is ripping up

First mover, largest provider, international, 360 care model (Livongo merger changed everything). The data they're collecting is also worth a lot of money. Wife works in telehealth as a NP (not for TDOC) so what I can say is it's not easy nor a fast process to jump through regulatory and HIPAA compliance. Also worth mentioning this is an insanely large TAM, so even if Amazon captured market share, there's plenty of room for winner takes most models.

All of this is just wrong. Both of you are wrong. First of all NO quantum computer can solve classical NP hard optimizations in polynomial time. If anyone can prove that, which is to prove that NP=BQP, then this is at the same level as proving P=NP. I will be the first to throw everything in a QC company if this is true. But before someone is awarded the Turing Award, Nobel prize and Fields medal together upon the completion of this proof, it is just not possible, universal QC or not, to solve this class of problem efficiently on a QC. Now, Dwave took the route of building an Ising solver, this is of course useless, but the technology to implement a transverse Ising solve is somewhat overlapped with other superconducting qubit universal QCs. Dwave uses flux qubits instead of transmons because the adiabatic control requirements are different from a gate based qc. But nevertheless if DWave can add in universal control in the future, sure it can be interesting, but they have no intention to do so. Trust me i know, they gave me an offer for a job. However, if they build a universal adiabatic qc, then formally they have a qc that is poly equivalent to a gate based universal qc. But in all cases, only pharma companies might be interested in this when they evolve the many body schrodingers equation to design medicine.

Just to point out. Industry problems are mostly hard classical problems that fall at worse in the class NP. Quantum polynomial problems fall in the class BQP, in which it is strongly believed that NP is NOT inside BQP. This means that QC will never efficiently in general solve exponentially hard problems (including the TSP problem mentioned in the DD) in which most industry applications care about. Note that all provable quantum speedups are on classically polynomially hard problems only. QC can probably solve quantum problems very efficient, such as quantum systems which exhibit some sort of sign problem. The market for this is extremely small. So even a perfect quantum computer available 50 years later won’t be useful in improving a supply chain problem for example. If you want to use QC to roughly solve a NP hard problem, then there are extremely well optimized classical heuristics that will work well even into the future. Anyways, just some food for thought.

I’ve been flipping calls options for clover health because I love the risk. Fundamental case for this company IF proven accurate WILL be lucrative. They should specialize into Medicare part D. D as in drugs. I shit you not it’s literally D for drugs. Chronic conditions are expensive especially for prescriptive. A lot of high level Medicare claw backs are happening for insurance companies for over billing, mostly due to doing too much of everything. Clover health makes prescription costs efficient by hiring the right providers (better trained and not lazy drs/NP/PAs) Medicare may give them more contracts.

They pander to and enable some of the toxic subculture developing in medicine thanks to groups like the HCA. In short, these corporate hospital groups will do what they can to shave off any cost, including physician labor costs even though physician labor is a tiny fraction of healthcare expenditure. The way they are doing this now is to create subversion within medicine and lobby aggressively to state senates via AANP/PA to push through laws that allow NP’s and PA’s to practice unsupervised and as equivalent to physicians in spite of having approximately 1/8th of the training. To further facilitate this they add the right for those same people to introduce themselves as doctor with no further elaboration. That way they can fill spots that require a physician, but put in someone who commands half the pay instead. Essentially they’ve calculated that they think the extra med/mal lawsuits will be less than the total savings on physician labor. FIGS panders to this subculture of a minority of NP/PA’s who are drinking that kool aid thinking that a 1.5 year online degree and 500 unstructured clinical hours is equivalent in quality to medical school and residency that physicians go through.

HCA is a corporate hospital organization that runs some incredibly vicious hospitals to work at. In spite of physician labor costing less than a couple percent of overall healthcare expenditure, HCA and others have been putting massive lobbying through to state senates via AANP/PA to push through laws that would allow PA’s and NP’s to be considered equivalent to doctors and allowed to practice by themselves, so they can fill physician spots with some people who they can pay about half.

Ok not sure if I'm missing something but this is how I see it So the max loss of value( happens when share price falls to 0) CC share at contract open - premium NP strike - premium Max value when share price increases CC premium + (strike -Share at contract open)if goes above strike NP premium To buy to close CC becomes more expensive as share price increases NP becomes cheaper as as share price increases So I don't see them as the Same even tho they have similar max value loss and max gain. since you need opposite price movement to increase profit when closeing before expire.

In the best tradition of Reddit, I comment a matter I know too little about. Quantum computing, even if realized as in most ambitious plans, will boost only solving of NP complete problems. It is not something that increases general purpose computing power of any arbitrary problem. I don't exactly know what portion of problems can be reduced to NP complete problems. But it's not all. It would be fun to have a comment from somebody who really understand QC.
