Although I absolutely love your response, it’s brilliant, logical, and seriously aspirational; but death can strike any time well before we achieve FIRE. I have also made the career decision to choose a career that I can work easily work FT, switch to PT, and then Casual as I age. I used to always desire retiring early but after leaving the workforce for 2 years whilst studying I missed the culture, team and friendship from working. So my aim is to travel and do what I want now, with family and continue to work until I die 😎. My observations are that if you stop moving you die. I also have never met a 90 year old who retired at 40, I could be wrong though.

The first thing you need to make sure of is that you don’t just sell and then throw the money away. How will this money continue to make you money? If you’re just going to have money after a few months because you’ve burned through it all, you’ve not helped yourself in the slightest. It’s easy to see you have money and just spend it. Use this desperation to take action on getting some income. Can you sell somethings like a car and get around via PT or cycling instead? Can you learn AI and build an app you can sell? Can you start working for Uber? Will the money you cash in be able to help you pay for something that will then result in money? Can you reach out for financial help or move in with someone to save money? The job market is horrific right now so don’t bank on some extra money riding you over until something comes along. Sadly it’s hustle hard time.

I think what you're kinda talking about is using the tech to solve human coordination failures. This is an idea that has been motivating quite a lot of the longer term crypto builders and enthusiasts for a long time, and for over 4 years has been broadly labeled 'Slaying Moloch'. 'Moloch' was a mythological god back in the bronze age whose followers sacrificed their children to it, and has become shorthand for the kind of net negative things (like *"polluting a river, tearing down a forest, or, say, displacing an entire population from their residences."*) that we end up doing, even though they objectively make things worse for everyone). Anyway, if you're interested then a really good place to start is this Bankless episode: https://youtu.be/903tHM4RA9k?si=j8ONN8ypPGxU5PT5 To be clear, this isn't a particular project or token that you should buy or whatever, but I got the vibe from your post that (unlike most people here) you were genuinely interested in the idea of using this technology to think of and build things to make the world better, and I think this video does a really good job of outlining one of the biggest problems that crypto has the capacity to solve, how do we avoid the 'Tragedy of the Commons', 'the Prisoner's Dilemma, etc etc. Once you've watched that, if you are still interested then one of the people interviewed, Kevin Owocki, has since gone on to found a movement called 'Green Pill'. They have a few books on the topic that you can read for free, a network that you can join, and perhaps most interestingly for you, a long running podcast series that interviews developers, philosophers, community leaders etc who are all working to build public goods. The first few episodes with people like Vitalik Buterin, Karl Floersch, Simona Pop, Glen Wyle are really great and so I would suggest starting at the beginning! https://greenpill.network/ So yea, not exactly what you were talking about, but I really think you will find some of that interesting. It's what kept me active crypto through the last bear market, and it's why I now spend a few days each year assessing and distributing funds to worthy causes through Optimism's Retroactive Public Goods Funding rounds as a Citizen; and through Octant's funding rounds and have probably donated more through Gitcoin's Quadratic Funding rounds than I have invested fiat into crypto. In my opinion, this kind of thing is how we actually 'win', not by chasing individual profits and fighting in zero-sum games, but by building a future that is actually better: https://mirror.xyz/minimalgravitas.eth/kbcy3Z4NAcmiECs_6PAI7xo0wIZXLtLtwIAmKRwuwow

Lol at your confidence that it will go down to 60K "for sure" but not below 50K. I get that you have a PT there but it almost definitely will not happen unless there is extreme bearish news. >An expansion in the money supply is NOT the same as inflation. There are two types of inflation: Monetary inflation and price inflation. If you speak MV=PT, monetary inflation is increase in M, price inflation is increase in P. When people are talking about inflating a currency, it is monetary inflation, but often the word "monetary" is dropped because usually there is no confusion.

Mentions:#NOT#MV#PT

Yes, wages are sticky; right now, that tends to benefit employers who can slow-walk the raises that compensate for inflation. In a deflationary world, employer inaction would benefit the employees, which seems like a better default. Nominal GDP, perhaps, would stay fixed but not *real* GDP - see also the deflation which will make the same number of currency units be worth more in goods and services. On the flip side, if the economy shrinks (as in a recession) there would be compensatory inflation. A fixed money supply just means the inflation/deflation is a function of the ratio of currency to economic activity, IIUC - a constant factor that balances your MV=PT, like aMV=PT

Thanks for sharing this piece! Here's a snippet for readers: On the evening of November 19, art adviser Adam Biesk was finishing work at his California home when he overheard a conversation between his wife and son, who had just come downstairs. The son, a kid in his early teens, was saying he had made a ton of money on a cryptocurrency that he himself had created. Initially, Biesk ignored it. He knew that his son played around with crypto, but to have turned a small fortune before bedtime was too far-fetched. “We didn’t really believe it,” says Biesk. But when the phone started to ring off the hook and his wife was flooded with angry messages on Instagram, Biesk realized that his son was telling the truth—if not quite the full story. Earlier that evening, at 7:48 pm PT, Biesk’s son had [released into the wild](https://solscan.io/tx/4mhRTtkQZLF6CL7joHwWwWdaSLP38or5WfhVY6DtZC4vKG3je1sxrDUbNtr2gyTvMXHGTynEUPC6M1NpQF7mbS8d) 1 billion units of a new crypto coin, which he named Gen Z Quant. Simultaneously, he spent about $350 to purchase 51 million tokens, about 5 percent of the total supply, for himself. On the evening of November 19, art adviser Adam Biesk was finishing work at his California home when he overheard a conversation between his wife and son, who had just come downstairs. You're correct, but the reason is inaccurate. High tariffs lead to high inflation. That's a given. High inflation and high crypto prices are strongly correlated, but not as a direct cause-and-effect. They're actually the both effects of the same monetary policy. An economy with both Low interest rates and [QE | helicopter/stimulus money] increases the Money Velocity. This leads to both: * Inflation as people spend more * Higher money supply, which people invested heavily into crypto in 2020-2021 So increased inflation and higher crypto prices are correlated. **Quantity Theory of Money: MV = PT**

Well not quite, Satoshi made a bit of an error: he said described the inputs and outputs being the same but the fees being different. That's just not possible. In 2010 the actual mechanics of how bitcoin worked weren't well understood by that many people as *none* of the explanatory text we'd use today except the whitepaper existed... It was totally ordinary for people, even fairly technical ones to assume bitcoin worked like "accounts per address", since thats how the wallet looked. So maybe a point could have been made that his understanding was atypically good for the time. But that point is thoroughly undermined by another piece of evidence that the video mentioned, the 2001 post where PT essentially describes the concept of turning hashcash into money via a graph of signatures, each owner signing their coin to the next. Because he'd previously had the idea, it seems likely that many details about bitcoin that people struggled with would have been instantly obvious to him.

That's how assholes, believing any fake news that sounds "convincing" to their gullable dumbass shit for brains, ruin this world. PT for president. But he's not Satoshi.

>Beyond the allegation related to PT being Satoshi, I think the thing the documentary got the most wrong is the motivations re blocksize. The docu basically only throws out the idea that the blocksize stuff was important for the immutability of Bitcoin's rules in the "if we change this than what else can be changed" sense-- though I think that view matters too. I think this lead Cullen down the path of giving Roger Ver's conspiracy theories more weight than they deserved, though he recontextualizes Ver's view in a way that is less nutty This is where he completely lost me in the documentary. Cullen tries to draw a line from Ver's conspiracy theory, through Peter Todd inventing the entire basis for it, to this somehow being presented as evidence that PT is Satoshi. Maybe something got lost in the edit but that leap made no sense to me whatsoever. Thanks for including the email, it's pretty telling he omitted the section on how dangerous the kind of baseless speculation he's engaging with can be.

Don’t forget that teenage PT was invited to the list by Hal himself. Satoshi left many opportunities for alibis. This is obvious. Let’s see if PT will have a believable alibi.

Mentions:#PT

It was him. There is much much more evidence that somehow HBO didn’t present. 68.164.57.219 Peter Todd was invited to join the Blue Sky list by Hal Finney … in 2000! He wrote on Blue Sky list Sat, 10 Mar 2001 12:35:20 -0500 “ Personally I like the idea of hashcash if, and only if, it’s structured like a real currency as opposed to simply proof of work. In the real world you pay for resources used. In many cases this should also apply to P2P and other computer systems. Of course getting hashcash workable as a real currency is extremely difficult. I’ve thought of a scheme that would work (coins are signed by owner and can only be changed (signed to a different owner) by owner) except you need a decentralized “central” database of all the hashcash that’s been minted. Unworkable. !@#$ spend-twice problem. “ https://lists.ibiblio.org/sympa/arc/bluesky/2001-03/msg00063.html Finny, Szabo, and Back all communicates for years with the “wizz kid” PT publicly and privately. Todd was a heavy freenet user. They know it’s him or did in case of Hal. There are many ways to prove you aren’t Satoshi. PT won’t be able to do that.

Mentions:#HBO#PT
r/BitcoinSee Comment

The most interesting thing is one they did mention but essentially glossed: In 2001 as a 15 year old Petertodd posted [in a thread with Hal and Adam](https://lists.ibiblio.org/sympa/arc/bluesky/2001-03/msg00063.html) a description of turning hashcash into currency by having a public graph of transactions, each one signing ownership to the next. I don't believe any proposed digital currency system prior to that point had that structure, Chaum's system had coins signing over ownership to other coins but the signatures were only seen by a private server. Hal's ~2004 RPOW still used a private server, but outsourced the coin ownership information to untrusted hardware by keeping only a merkle root over the data-- due to the resource limits of the trusted hardware device. So even it didn't go so far as to just have the public validate the transaction graph. Of course, this part of Bitcoin isn't the big innovation, it's arguably obvious. Petertodd's post did at least explicitly mention the remaining problem "the damn spent-twice problem": I don't think it should be considered evidence that Petertodd is Satoshi, but he may well have influenced Satoshi in his design of Bitcoin. A common problem for journalists and others who analyze events after the fact is reversing cause and effect. "Wet roads cause rain". In any case, it was surprising to *me* when I saw it and I think it's interesting if not for the reasons the docu would have cared about -- it didn't make me think PT was Satoshi even briefly, but it did strike me that the "evidence" used to claim other people are Satoshi is truly pathetic. Not mentioned is IIRC a public mailing list post a bit before bitcoin's announcement where PT is again advocating hashcash as a way to create a digital currency and I think asking if anyone was working on it. I don't have the link handy, but I'm sure someone will turn it up. Again, I see that as more "Digital currency interested guy is still interested in digital currency", but I was almost surprised that the docu didn't present that as Satoshi looking for potential collaborators before deciding to be anonymous. And I found it interesting, again, as an example of the kind of evidence you might expect to exist for Satoshi that just doesn't exist for the fakes-- but it's also the kind of evidence that you'd expect to exist for other early Bitcoin tech people. I'm also aware of stuff like that for other early Bitcoin tech people who thankfully are never accused of being Satoshi.

It's a cute point, but you are reading it that way because you've been primed by the video. That very "statement of fact" approach is extremely typical for petertodd-- myself too. The documentary makes a point about PT being very familiar with that message, but I believe the reason for it is because I had dug it up in relation to the lawsuits against us by Wright (basically exploring the history of the early bitcoin involvement of his targets)... and in spite of a dozen people looking at stuff like that and discussing it, none of us saw that message as suggesting anything like Petertodd being Satoshi. To quote another bitcoin developer friend on the documentary: "though that "of course, to be specific" sort of language is so petertodd that it makes me read it in his voice". I mean, like kudos to the author for finding someone where there are at least coincidences-- the bar from prior accusations is so low that it's negative rather than zero: In the past media has been happy to run with stories about people with extremely significant evidence against the claim. In this case there are a few coincidences. None of them were new to me-- there are even a few they didn't mention (or did but hardly gave attention to, including the most interesting). But that's something you should expect for some of the early technical people around Bitcoin.

Is honestly complex, I am not tech savvy enough to explain, but asking a crypto assistant I use based on chatGPT it told me this It allows users to split yield-bearing assets into two parts: the principal token (PT) and the yield token (YT). This provides flexibility and opens up new opportunities compared to traditional staking. Key Advantages: - Tokenized Future Yield: Users can trade future yield separately from their principal, unlocking liquidity and flexibility not available with standard staking. - Trading Opportunities: Pendle's AMM lets users trade yield tokens, offering potential to maximize returns depending on market conditions. - Risk Management: You can hedge against interest rate changes by buying or selling future yield. APY Comparison: While Pendle can sometimes offer higher APY than traditional staking, this isn’t guaranteed. Returns depend on the market demand for yield tokens, allowing for immediate returns by selling future yield. It's more than just earning higher APY; it’s about flexible strategies and potentially optimizing returns in various market conditions. In short, Pendle provides more flexibility and opportunity for yield optimization compared to standard staking, but also comes with added complexity and risk. --- This summary emphasizes the flexibility and advantages of Pendle without overcomplicating the explanation.

Cause we live in an echo chamber BTC bubble 🫧 talking to ourselves. Unless the price predictions come to fruition, then “normies” will notice. I don't know if it's for regulatory reasons, a vetting process, or they just don't like the volatility of new or low cap cryptos. They can be very high risk, especially if using leverage. I prefer Phemex. It's user friendly, they have a mock trading platform that's great to practice trades without using real money, and unlike many other exchanges, you can use it as a US citizen. I think their PT token will do well in the next couple of years. But if there's specific crypto's you want, you have to see what exchanges it's on. I like one called Vaiot (VAI). It's not available on Phemex but it is on Bingx or I could buy it from a place like Uniswap but that has high gas fees and it's more difficult to get fiat money in. If there's a crypto you want to buy, you can look it up on Coin gecko and it will show where it's listed.

For context I put in 20 ETH at the end on Jan so the numbers aren't the same today. Not everyone can risk 20 ETH and at the time I shouldn't have, but you can math it from my numbers to yours. Etherfi gave me an airdrop of 1140 ETHFI ($5300 today) for season 1. I expect Season 2 to be 20% of that but just guessing. Etherfi still gives me \~3% for restaking and soon EigenLayer restaking will be added to that. On Pendle I split between PT-eETH for fixed yield and it matures June 29 for +1.2 ETH or so but no Etherfi points. The other half went into the LP and I got about 0.7 ETH from that so far plus about 20 PENDLE tokens but also 2x Etherfi points. Both Pendle options were about 30% APR when I got it but the LP is around 11% now. Again, the PT-eETH was fixed rate no points. LP double points but the rate is lower today. Altogether maybe 2 ETH in 5 months and $5300 in airdrop. . Swell L2 is still unknown but I keep generating all my previous yields and they claim to airdrop 1% supply for every project that launches on the L2 and there's 5 or 6 projects so far. Before that I had it all sitting in LIDO stETH. Compared to LIDO it's been really good. Ship might have sailed on Etherfi airdrop fantasies but Pendle is still cooking.

I'm currently 3 layers deep, 4 if you count ETH as level one. ETH -> EtherFi eETH -> Pendle PT-eETH -> Deposit PT-eETH into Swell L2 So far the rewards have been incredible. When it all starts unravel and the end of the bull it's going to be a disaster. I'll probably go back to vanilla ETH this summer, hope it's not too late.

"Useful" cryptocurrencies don't generate the kind of ROI that memecoins can. The entire point to crypto, whether launching it or trading it, is to generate profits. And the best method would have the least amount of effort and investment risk to it. If PT Barnum were around... Creating a token, pamping it, and then pulling the rug was one of the best ways to achieve maximum profit with minimum effort/investment. Sure, it victimized a lot of people, but so did Johnson & Johnsons Baby Powder, Purdue Pharma's Oxycontin, and... almost every other endeavor in big business, from Fossil Fuels destroying the planet to Raytheon making an "environmentally friendly" missile to kill people with. That is how it works. And it is why some people are rich and other people are not.

That’s my problem. Buying at higher prices and missing the actual spikes up it does. Then buying in higher and getting hit with the liquidity grabs after the volatility happened. I was trading 2-5 coins at a time and it was safe to do so. Now I can barely trade a .1-.25 for the same results. Sheesh. Regrets for sure. So now I’m just DCA. I believe 140k is next PT.

Engineering, CS, etc aren't guarantees of return on investment anymore. Nothing is, aside from some health fields, like nursing, PT, OT, etc. But most of those (except nursing), you have to leverage a useful/relevant degree + internships + good GPA + decent GRE + other extracurriculars to compete with others for a limited number of spots at whatever graduate program. The short answer is no. The longer answer is because of how ChatGPT works. Ultimately, it essentially makes things up as it goes. Specifically, it starts with a string of words and then picks the most probable next word ("G" for Generative, in **G**PT). It does this based on keeping track of the probabilities of leading and trailing context in a string of words ("T" for Transformer in GP**T**), asks the question "what word most likely comes next?", and then spits it out. These probabilities are calculated by analyzing strings of trillions of words that came before and after each other in content made by millions of people in many languages ("P" for "Pre-trained"). Thus, ChatGPT is a Generative Pre-Trained Transformer AI model arranged to be conversational (you write something, and that starts the context, it generates words based on this context, one after another until it comes to the most likely stopping point, and that's its response. Your question and its response and your response become the context for its next answer... and so on. If you carry on the conversation long enough you will see that it starts to forget early parts of the conversation, because its backward context is limited. Thus, ChatGPT literally just makes things up. However, because it uses perfect vocabulary for the context, and the process is pretty much how humans also pick the next word they say, this statistical stream-of-probability babble is often indistinguishable from expertise. What you have is the answer to a question on blockchain to a parrot with Vitalik's vocabulary. For what it's worth.

The "legal tender" misconception; "legal tender" is nothing but a poor choice of words in English, it doesn't even translate to "legal" anything in other languages; example in ES/PT "moneda/moeda de curso forzado/forçado" (forced course currency). The English choice of words made some people believe there's "illegal tender", when there's no such thing. The opposite of legal tender is volunteer trade. The real power of legal tender comes down to forcely settle debt. Eg. A owes $100 to B, both A and B are in the USA. If A wants to pay B with Bitcoin (or anything else than USD) and B refuses A still owes $100 to B, if A wants to pay in USD and B refuses A no longer owes anything to B because he can't be forced to settle in any other form of payment. This applies for Bitcoin, but would also apply to Euro, as Euro isn't USA legal tender, or the opposite, if they were Europeans that would apply for Dollars. If both parties agree to settle the debt in anything else than legal tender, then the debt is settled. "What if A pays in cocaine?" - from the debt perspective and taken B agreed, the debt is settled. However cocaine is an illegal good to hold and transact with, so both could be in trouble with law enforcement, but for what counts to debt settling, it is settled.

It certainly looks like the paper wallet generator was compromised. So your funds are gone. The next step is to trace the funds and see if you can identify the culprit. **My advice:** 1. Copy the transaction ID & Recipient address, 2. Use a [block explorer like this one](https://www.blockchain.com/explorer/addresses/btc/bc1qk0apdyltpmh5egly74sdn2thkxnrt6z3wasutk) and paste in either or both address 3. Begin tracing where the coins have gone to. list out all the addresses it may have passed through. 4. Use [Bitcoin Who's Who](https://www.bitcoinwhoswho.com/) to see if any of these addresses have been reported previously 5. If they have, you can click on **"Website Appearances/Public Sightings"**, this might help you find places like reddit where people have done their own investigations on the same address. 6. Google Search can be your friend, so click here to [search Clankapp on Google](https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fclankapp.com%2Fbitcoin%2Faddress%2F+&rlz=1C5CHFA_enPT994PT997&sxsrf=APwXEde2926DQ7cfVYnhvwA7sjXBBpdxmQ%3A1686307964150&ei=fASDZKG9CMvrgAa165OQCA&ved=0ahUKEwih67zZgrb_AhXLNcAKHbX1BIIQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fclankapp.com%2Fbitcoin%2Faddress%2F+&gs_lcp=Cgxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAQA0oECEEYAVCpAVipAWD3NmgCcAB4AIABMYgBMZIBATGYAQCgAQHAAQE&sclient=gws-wiz-serp), then enter the recipient wallet address and press return. 7. If Clankapp have the address listed, they might identify an exchange it belongs to at the top of the page (next to the address) 8. If you identify an exchange, contact them right away with all these details and ask them to freeze the wallet. 9. This would be a good time to contact the police and put them in touch with the exchange.
