Humans love generating energy but we’ve had this problem of needing to bring energy to human settlements otherwise there is no incentive (unless it’s energy in the form of oil or natural gas maybe) Now there is an incentive to energize every source we can because many renewable, wasted and/or excess energy goes unused due to inaccessibility, thermodynamics, current energy system capacities, etc Those miners are worth a lot somewhere on the bitcoin standard (Virunga National park) and there's no such thing as a low-energy rich country https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/s/XI75SN37v5 https://twitter.com/themutad/status/1678777519858941955?s=46&t=ihVglVXC0BQSbw6j57EoaA

There is no encryption in bitcoin. Algos selected were not necessarily pro or anti NSA, but more so copyright/trademark free. SN didn't spend much since originally mined block rewards attributed to him still have not moved. Did you or someone you hired find an issue with the algorithms used? Because there's a lot of eyes on all that stuff and nobody found anything catastrophic yet. Surveillance of populations is a major issue but bitcoin does not fix any of it. What was your concern again?

They can crack it 100% there is no doubt about that in my mind. It's just a matter of when not if. And in regards to them targeting other less secure sites, that's valid but doesn't mean Bitcoin is safe. One reason they might prefer bitcoin is bcs it's free money sitting and waiting for someone to just scoop it up. Whole hacking the global banking systems will cripple everyone, even china, so they might not wanna test the waters, While btc will be contained and there is currently no one claiming SN account so no one will be hurt by some hacker taking the money there. From Investopedia: The First 50 BTC Could Not be Spent: The Genesis Block's beginnings were shrouded in the debate about a fine point of its creation: Was the code that rendered the Genesis Block effectively untradeable an intention or a mistake on the part of Nakamoto? Although the Genesis Block points to a web address—written into the Genesis Block's code—that link displayed an error message when activated. The system could not find the first transaction of 50 BTC in its database, and the spending transaction was rejected. So, the Genesis Block's transaction is not considered a "real transaction" by the original Bitcoin client. But why? Did Nakamoto mean for the first bitcoin to be non-tradeable? Or was it a mistake? This became the subject of much debate among Bitcoin fans and insiders. Because of the precision of this developer, however, most believe it was hardly an error. Nakamoto likely wrote the code for the Genesis Block exactly the way he wanted it. We will never know why, as the quirk was not discovered until after Nakamoto disappeared. Me: It would appear that SN was aware that pre-mining would undermine the project.

The biggest clue that CW isn’t SN is CW personality. He is attention seeking and self serving, antithetical to Satoshi. Creating a protocol and leaving is a demonstration of selflessness. CW could never be Satoshi because his ego would’ve never allowed him to leave 15 years ago.

Dave Kleiman was Satoshi. After he died, CW slid into his shoes and assumed the identity of SN. Dave's laptop and phone were left to his brother Ira. Ira's wife wanted a laptop so he formatted the hard drive and gave it to her. He gave the 'phone away. It took CW a few years to stop making basic mistakes about bitcoin. His only route to those early coins now is to ask a Court to compel the Core Developers to assign them to him (hence the dogged pursuit of the SN identity). Prove me wrong. Nick Szabo and Hal. Both were Cypherpunks. They were living in the same city during the timeframe Bitcoin was developed and launched. Dorian Nakamoto - whom Newsweek miserably failed to out as Satoshi - lived nearby / between them. In an email exchange with Hal Satoshi comments that the address he randomly pulled started with 'SN' which were his 'initials backwards.' Nick is not cited in the white paper in spite of clear similarities between Bitcoin and Bitgold. There are also certain quips and phrases in both white papers. Satoshi put multiple spaces between sentences, so he learned to type on a typewriter (monospaced fonts). Nick's the right age. Nick's forum / new group posts go dark the months leading up to Bitcoin's January launch.

What reason would I have? SN clearly designed BTC in a way that requires everyone working with BTC to decide the block size and to do that we clearly need to talk about wether we need to increase it. There is a reason that rewards and difficulty are designed to increase automatically and blocksize isnt. It’s becuz the right blocksize is hard to predict since technological developments and prices for harddrives and such are difficult to predict and it influences not only transaction fees but mining rewards and decentralization. We need to constantly talk about this and being depicted as anti BTC for saying that is insane. It’s anti BTC to not talk about it.

>believe that court rulings are a better arbiter of truth than cryptographic proof Sure. I mean I've watched eyes glaze over when I try to explain pub/private key encryption more times than I can remember. I'm also reminded of that time when that banker dude dropped that opinion paper arguing that the *real* problem with Bitcoin was it's immutably and what bitcoin really needs was to have a trusted set of bankers appointed who could modify the blockchain in response to court orders + legal claims. I guess it's just painfully obvious that one person who absolutely would never think that way would be SN themselves. Like the one thing I find so ironic about CSW's antics is that it's just soooo obvious that the real SN would never bumble around suing people like a scrub, much less lose access to their own private key AND a million coins.

The date you picked is way way too early. 50K coins would be about half of all BTC in existence by the date of your alleged deal. First few miners were SN, and a few other people. There is no way that any investment firm could possibly have 50000 coins to sell, and not even 8400 coins. But to humor you on details.. that deal was valued at the price then, not price now. Your "legal team" loves this if they are charging you by the hour. You got refunded for btc you didn't receive so that's great. BUT you lost track of 8400 alleged BTC which were sent to your wallet which only you set up. Not relevant to microsoft or to any blockchain explorers, or emails. The keys for these coins could only be in wallet.dat from early version of bitcoin core which was called qt or something back then.

Here is my opinion on why it never will. I will do it like Jack the Ripper: by parts. 1- "The reason I’m into bitcoin is because I believe it’s the most sound currency ever created. I want it to be the reserve currency of the ENTIRE WORLD." It is not used as a mean of exchange. No price is set in BTCs. It is only used as a speculative token. BTCoiners will talk about El Salvador, where the populist president tried a BTC stunt. What they won't tell is that it failed and the adoption is close to zero. They will talk about Tesla, that for a brief period accepted BTC. They won't say that prices were not set in BTC and the company refused it for refunds. So, even though BTC was created and pitched as a currency by SN, it never came to be one. 2- "The biggest criticism I always hear is, it’s too complicated" Yes! It is hellish complicated, specially if compared with "pre-historic"payments methods, such as credit cards. But that is not even the beggining. The network processes ridiculous 5-7 transactions/second, while MC alone, processes about 5.000. How can this become a mean of payment? 3- "My point in this is that most people do not understand the US economic system" BTCoiners always talk about the gold standard and the deflationary character of BTC. Those are the people who know nothing about economics. A deflationary coin is, by definition, prone to recessions. They work exactly like high interest rates. People and businesses stimulated to save it, rather than expending it, since it will be more valuable in the future. The FIAT system is in place for about 80 years and has worked fine so far, allowing for the largest economic growth in history. And trust me, I understand inflation (I am Brazilian). 4- "dollars backed up by nothing by sentiment and strength of the US economy" All currencies are a social construct, nevertheless, dollars, as you say, are backed by something real: the strength of the US economy. What exactly are BTC backed on? A wish? By the way, as many of the industry leaders have admitted, only 10 to 15% of crypto value is supported by real money. All the rest is traded on theter or other shitcoins. Do you really believe theter has close to 100BI USD stacked in someplace and still fail to produce any proof or audit? Not even a bank statement? In fact, the whole support may be explained in this sentence: "My point in this is that most people do not understand the US economic system" BTCoiners believe that everybody else hasn't realized what they, the chosen, the smartest, the iluminated have realized. This is not just stupid and arrogant, but also a great tool to fraudsters bait the gullible. Sounds like a church.

Yeh its def possible Polygon does one but I don't think it's anywhere near as sure a thing as ZKS, SN, LINEA, L0 etc. There was a quote recently from either the founder saying something about no rules regarding existing protocols doing a big airdrop, and while it was clear he was just trying to get some hype and volume to Polygon, it def got me more interested. Anyways we'll have to see and all you can do is do a few accounts and move a lil eth over and do a few tasks it isn't much effort so it's certainly worth paying $20 in gas etc. To hope for an AD. Having said that I've barely done more than a few transactions on BASE and doubt I do more than that at all, maybe if I get inspired one day I'll do one account properly on it but currently not much inspiration.

r/CryptoCurrencySee Comment

I'm not rly sure about Polygon. My original thinking was def not, but then the founder came out and said something about there's no rules regarding existing protocols doing a big airdrop. (Parahrasing) while it was pretty clear he was trying to draw some of the airdrop volume over to PolygonZK, it did make me slightly consider the possibility and I now have 3 accounts on there with a little bit of eth and doing a few little quests and such. I still think the airdrop is unlikely but it's possible. I def wouldn't grind 30 accounts on it, like ZKS, SN, LINEA are prob high 90% in regard to airdrop possibility and Polygon wouldn't be better 50% on a good day at this point in time. So do what you will with that info. 🙃
