If such a group did exist they would mine some blocks until more hashrate got on board. They would not "steal" nearly all bitcoin. They would mine their part of blocks and that's that's. Out-mining SN was nothing special, many others mined besides SN. And of course the coins were basically worthless anyway and no one cared either way nor was there anyone to run double spends against.
Unless you spoke to SN and he was buzzed and an open book, nobody knows what "Satoshi's vision" actually was. Everyone invents it to mean whatever they like and pretend bitcoin met or didn't meet that vision.
I've been running Nethermine + Prysm for my validator, and it's been writing about 1.1TB per day. This is very close to the 0.3DWPD limit for consumer 4TB SSD. If you write at a rate that's significantly above the DWPD limit of your SSD, at some point you'll overwhelm the controller's ability to wear level and the chips will degrade faster than expected. I've seen it first hand when trying to run Base L2 nodes with consumer hardware - killed 4 SN850X 4TB drives on my side last year until I realized what actually killed them. Many people think simply controlling the storage size of full nodes via pruning is sufficient to keep Ethereum running in consumer hardware. It is not - the daily write rate is going to be a significant factor. Pretty soon validators will need to buy enterprise U.2 or E.3 SSD for the write endurance.

It's hard to swallow but SN is from ASIA region to many language slipped to non native english implementation. The project group called themselves the cypherpunks. Satoshi was indeed a fictional name chosen by a single person on the project to be the representative name. It wasn't CW but he knows who it was much like other living members of the group. Sadly some core members have passed. SN is not one of them, yet.

Well, I personally haven't scrutinized his posts, but from all the documentaries and explorations into SN's identity I've explored, they all point to him being raised in a British English speaking country. Maybe cultural references in his posts? Also, most people despite English being taught in schools are not fluent in English in former British colonies due to poor quality of education.

It's rather presumptuous to argue bitcoin isn't reaching "original vision" since that implies knowing the "original vision." No one can read SN's mind. And while it's definitely not ideal to hammer in screws, no one is going to stop me if I want to hammer in screws. So everyone can use bitcoin for their benefit as they see fit, without trying to create some narrative of what it must be and how it must behave. It does what it does - use it to your advantage. Assuming you are not trolling and just don't know how bitcoin works - SN cannot delete other people's bitcoins. SN could effectively "delete" coins only in their own control by sending them to unspendable UTXOs. The estimates claim a million+ BTC but it's closer to 750K-800K BTC. MSTR is approaching these numbers.

A companion theory if you’ll permit me to indulge. I love OP’s take but for a smart man it’s just as likely to be a confluence of ideas that led to this decision. I recently read a theory that Douglas Adams’s 42 as being the answer to life, the universe and everything was a nod to 42 being the ASCII code for * or asterisk used in coding to represent all such as in SQL - SELECT * FROM…. What if 21 was a middle of the road figure out of a desire to not dominate a system completely since domination leads to stagnation. I’m thinking of a sense of system balance from Homer Wilson Smith’s “change and survival are DICOMs…” assertion wrt predator / prey models & Julia sets here. As an intelligent coder in the UK there’s almost no chance SN wasn’t aware of HHGTG and the significance of 42 in popular culture & humour-tinged philosophy. I don’t have the benefit of the SN scholars here but the tone feels right to me.
We have some idea. I don’t have the messages but SN discussed whether BTC may become a global currency and what the global money supply was at the time, estimated to be between $20-25tn. Supposing an eventual price of perhaps $1m what would the supply need to be. It is likely this together with some of the other answers people have provided in this thread.

They where incredibly busy working 4 jobs at once (one being BTC) so had no real spare time. Then there's the chance they were "made to forget" by some people most would be terrified. Bad things might happen but not anywhere near the level of what happened to SN from they're own family who did unspeakable things to silence them and try and steal their identity and wallets. That's an address, not a wallet. And if it sends anything out that just means the sender has the priv key, not that the sender is SN. Is there some kind of strong evidence that it is SN's address and the key has not been made available to someone else?
No one knowing is incorrect. The people involved in the project know. There are likely more than 10-20 people who know. Then there's a chance several government intelligence agencies know. Whilst everything about SN was designed to be ambiguous and untraceable SN is not American, British English is a big hint which may have been the default language on his word processor. For example CW knows who but did some bad things to SN 16 years ago and is likely a tad scared of the real SN who may have had serious underworld links at the time. Have you ever considered the reason SN went quiet was not by choice but by shady people around them who tried to exploit the situation by drugging them to try and steal.
No one knows SN's actual nationality. It's all speculation based off how the individual would spell certain words (used the British spelling for words like 'favorite' and 'color'). Considering that could've also been done intentionally to throw people off, it's not enough to go on. When the individual would post on the P2P forum, there was a pattern of a "black out" period between the hours of 12am EST - 6am EST where the account wouldn't be posting. It's presumed that's because the owner of the account was sleeping at that time. But, again, that doesn't mean anything, either. If someone really wants to conceal their identity online, they would be sure to carefully think about everything that can be used to try to figure out who they are, right down to posting patterns. It's no telling who Satoshi Nakamato is.

Yes, I just checked. Keep in mind that even though Nostr was created by bitcoiners, not everyone coming into the protocol is one of them. A read a few “complains” where some users said that there is a lot of bitcoin talk. Personally I enjoy it, but is not for everyone. Having SN, as a bitcoin only forum is good, and allows poor not Bitcoin people to enjoy the other side of Nostr, without being bombarded about bitcoin info.

There is no such thing as SN wallet. Transactions are between addresses not wallets. SN's mined coins are in thousands of addresses that likely, but not certainly, may belong to SN.
