Does anyone have experience with Neely River Trading? (NRT) What’s your opinion on it?

Most welcome. My husband killed himself in December and left a $1mm life insurance policy and another almost $300k in retirement accounts. I’m trying to find the most safe place to put things. I don’t trust the US and Donald Trump’s market manipulation. I’m also in gold and silver. AG silver mine has done me well as has SLV and GDXJ. I also have some BAYRE (us ticker for Bayer) that I should have bought when it was $7, bought around $10 and it’s up to $13 now. NRT (German oil/gas company) has an almost 10% annual dividend and is up too. I only have a couple hundred shares but I’m buying more if it drops.

Honestly, most patient I have as a pulmonologist quit nicotine replacement because they have nausea or poor tolerance. This new drug will at least be another option in too if NRT and chantix.

Plenty of published research on comparisons between NRT and Cytisinicline, with the second proving to be superior.

Dug pretty deep into the P3 clinical trial. It looks like 80% of participants relapse within 6 months after treatment. This compares very closely to Nicotine Replacement Therapy (Gum / NRT) relapse rates. While I was initially very interested, I’m less convinced.

Pouches are as harmful as patches, gum or sprays which are normal NRT methods recommended by doctors. The key ingredient, nicotine, has health issues but compared to a cigarette it's like a 3 if a cigarette is 100. That being said, ofc kids shouldn't be marketed to but this is vaping all over again. A tiny amount of under 17s take it up and it usually mirrors cigarette uptake in teens. I knew kids having their first cig at 13-14 and my friends and myself having our first at 15-16 - foolish kids eager to look cool or be mature. Tobacco needs to go and if these shitty conglomerates make that happen by moving people onto pouches it's a much lesser evil.

$NRT is up 8% since I first mentioned it yesterday morning ($4.85 to $5.25) — folks are aware of the dividend now and the massive potential.

Testing this to see if I'm able to comment. I posted something earlier about $NRT and don't think it posted.

Our UA flight from NRT to GUM on a B737 was also cancelled before the holiday due to a cracked windshield. That‘s not comparable to a detached doorplug. Happens to Airbus as well, I am sure.

Not my investing style. Once I close a position, I am eager to open another one. i.e. Sold NRT at 15.00 yesterday (I know it jumped today) and bought GSL at 18.40 today and put in a GTC order at 19.50.

I did well with one called NRT (Northern European Royalty Trust) out of Germany, although I sold it just before Russia invaded, so could have picked up a couple more bags if I'd had the foresight to see that coming. Bought in the depths of Covid so it was tough not to do well with oil/gas at that point. You need to read the fine print. Some are perpetual, some have minimum sales or BOE/etc. equivalents that must be extracted for continuation of the royalty trust rights. Of those that I looked through, most are operated by oil majors like Exxon, Chevron, etc. but these are important details. A Chevron isn't going out of business, but a smaller operator certainly could. It also entails different taxation from common stock ownership and an extra tax form each season. They're not any better or worse than other investments. Buy at a bargain price and understand what you're purchasing.

I sold my NRT (Northern European Royalty Trust), a gas and oil land trust in Germany. I sold it one week before Putin decided to invade Ukraine, because it was getting a bit pricey (between $11 & $12). By April it was at $20, still at $17 today. Gave up $5-8 per share in capital gains, plus $1.83 per share in dividends from some bad timing. Still made money, bought between 3 and 4 during Covid, but could've done that exit a lot better.

I'd probably look into gas futures, though the crisis (if it materializes) is so long in coming you have to assume it's de-facto priced in already. Maybe oil futures, if you believe demand for kerosene/heating oil will also increase. Again though, gotta assume that's already mostly priced in. Could go direct to the source, as it were, and invest in NRT or something similar.

You can walk across CLT in 15 minutes, from the end of E to A. That said CLT can have long ass taxi times because of current runway config. I think the only airport that I've been to with longer taxi is NRT.

Well damn. I've been seeing PLTR all over this sub, but I'm only a lurker... ...**I had no idea it was for Palantir** Lol, I'm leaving the military and without getting into too many specifics, Palantir had one project we supported that absolutely sucked IIRC. Our base had a partnership with them for said project to help AI learning. It didn't work. It was crowdsourced to work, but *people* didn't want to put in the time. Even when they did put in the time, ultimately the technology wasn't there. It couldn't account for every situation. It ran into similar situations AI learning is currently still struggling with, like "self-driving cars" not recognizing some objects. The *other* major issue is this: Years ago they were planning on using it for FMV NRT UAS (drones doing aerial surveillance) to reduce personnel numbers (aka budget spending) and lean on AI. It never came to fruition because of the always inherent issues mentioned above and further detailed below. Then add the fact that drone usage is being reduced and there's even *less* use for this project. So here's a quick and dirty detailed issue: Machine learning requires tons of data points to be accurate. Down here on the ground we can get tons of angles, tons of lighting, different weather conditions, etc and it's still not perfect. Now think about a camera pointing down, from really, really high in the sky... get where I'm going here? It would be damn near impossible for AI to know the difference between an adult threat and an innocent child. Trust me, it's not the movies. Even with improvements to resolution, photogrammatry, LIDAR, AI learning, etc, there are too many instances where height and size couldn't be accurately measured. Also, if the AI can't distinguish between friendly and enemy forces, we have a huge problem. Those all seem like problems that could possibly be solved, but ultimately they weren't. For a lot of us it felt like Palantir was selling snake oil. AI was supposed to make our job a lot easier. Reduce some stress and fatigue. But it never worked right. However, that is just one aspect from a relatively small sample size. There are many other aspects to the company and they could be successful and a *great* stock purchase, but because of my direct interaction and all the bullshit associated with it, I will **never** purchase PLTR stock. Sorry, I just had to say this. I think OP did some great research, but I'll pass. TL;DR In my smallish sample size, the application of PLTR in military FMV was nought but tears in rain. And me, Joe Shmoe will not be investing in them.
