If a SPAC liquidates, it's delisted. Holders of delisted commons get back NAV. Holders of delisted warrants get nothing. It's not exactly like an OTM option, because in my understanding, and option is exerciseable, even if it's out of the money. My recollection is that warrants are not exercisable until well after the DA. (Not sure why you would want to exercise if it is possible) Note that a DA canceled is not the same as liquidation, especially if there's a lot of time left. I have ACEV, which got a second DA, I know there have been others that got a second DA. However, I also had some OCA warrants, they chose to liquidate, I tried keeping a few warrants, got nothing for them.

Man these just continue to shock me daily, some will obviously double from here but imo it’s not worth the risk. Saying that I’ve a lot of money tied up in some lotto ones like OCA, SCVX, ALTU, ETAC but I just don’t see any demand for these and a lot of these will be forced to settle for shitty deals which will result in no pop (god forbid no liquidations on the ones we are holding lol). So I just don’t see the appeal, I’m continuously having to talk myself out of buying in at these levels but give in once in a while I was looking at TACA yesterday and can’t believe the price today, crazy! I’m not sure in what capacity he’s involved but this spac has Brent Saunders associated with it I believe, I can’t see that guy having his name attached to a SPAC which liquidated but who knows. FPAC warrants 💎-hands gang checking in. I also feel that OCA/PACX were particularly affected by how badly the new-age insurance/fintech companies have been beaten down since those DA'd. To be fair, Coinbase has been getting killed too, but I think it's different considering so much of Bullish's valuation comes from their crypto holdings. Additionally, Bullish has a $300M PIPE so hopefully they'll want to take that. That being said, bring on the FPAC warrant $0.6Xs pricing 😆

Woke up to the OCA/Kin news and it terrifies me. The worst part is, as u/LastPotato1214 mentioned, "They had a vote date set, plenty of filings, news, even a December acquisition." This terrifies me as a warrant holder because deal completion, which was not really an issue for the last 2 years, is now suddenly front and center. I have lots of FPAC/W, and I can average down to the depths of the earth, but I can't control deal terminations that can happen out of the blue, which would a) cause the value of the warrants to plunge even more, and b) defeat the purpose of me having the warrants because I bought them for this particular target. Also - if the deal is terminated, people will say they'll go ahead and find another target, but mentally it's going to be a huge pain to baghold the warrants amidst huge uncertainty. I scrolled through the Kin press release and they actually admitted: “We worked tirelessly over the better part of a year to bring this combination to fruition, but we have **collectively decided that current market conditions are simply not conducive to Kin becoming a public company at this time**.**"** I wonder how many more deal terminations there are on the horizon.
Because the deal is cancelled but the spac will move on. What will happen to the people that redeemed at ten dollars? Will they get their money as the deal is terminated before the vote, exactly 1 day before redemption deadline? Does this mean the trust size of OCA will decrease? I have no idea what will happen. I would say the fair value of OCA is roughly 9.72 but there are huge bids at 9.91 and nobody to sell as all that wanted to redeem redeemed and it is outside market hours and their shares are locked. This means this bid is there to induce shorts and squeeze them a bit tomorrow or just get fucked by short interest. For me this is history, I've never seen this with a SPAC till now.
This is history in the making. Deadline to redeem OCA is tomorrow. It got terminated today. Those that wanted to redeem at ten did already. What would happen? Surely they won't be able to redeem when there is a termination DA

The OCA deal wasn't good though. I pointed this out a few times before too but even a few months ago they were super overvalued based on how their comparables were trading. This was going to become another $3-4 deSPAC at best.

Ok, now I’m getting worried about RCLF with this OCA news. CEO basically said they were going through a SPAC to get to market faster but still…. It’ll be frustrating that legit good deals do not go through. People ask for them but then nobody invests because of the stigma/fear of the aftermerge drop. Unfortunately that’s completely understandable.

Damn OCA? I wouldn’t touch it after seeing all insurance stocks get hammered especially SPACs like HIPO, MILE, and so on. I was balls deep in MDH warrants but sold most recently for a loss, that business was close to being profitable but off course the actual results that came in were lower than what they had originally projected lol
Your first option of buying pre DA commons in the $9.60s or $9.70s and waiting for DA or to redeem is most likely a waste of time (but wouldn’t be much effort). You do have the off chance that you have one that breaks the arb NAV wall on DA, which would be a nice bonus. But these days that’s not all that likely. Your second strategy is a decent option (but requires a lot more work). I think you need to talk it through with your broker to make sure you have a good idea on when you have to have your shares settled to be able to redeem. To maximize your arbitrage, you want to wait until as close to that last day you can buy and still redeem so that your opportunity cost is as low as possible. Most of the time the prices never reach the actual redemption offer price due to some of the risks I mention at the end. Take OCA as an example. They have a vote day of 2/1/22. There’s a chance that you’re already too late for this one, but we’ll use it anyway. It’s trading at $9.96 and I’m assuming that the tender offer is $10.00 if you redeem (I haven’t looked at the SEC docs, which is something you’d have to do frequently if you decide to utilize this strategy). If your broker still allows you to redeem, you make ~0.4% for holding for a couple of weeks. The big unknowns here are when does your broker stop allowing redemptions and how long does it take to get your money back from redeeming. These two facts can drastically impact the amount of times you can do this flipping. I think 2 weeks may be a stretch to be able to pull off consistently. If you can find a broker that allows you to buy very close to the day that it goes ex redemption you will have a lot more success on an annualized return rate because you can flip more times throughout the year. Actually getting the money back in your account from redeeming depends on how fast the actual SPAC processes it, so sometimes you can be waiting a while, which obviously sucks and lowers your return rate. One additional risk factor is that there are issues with the vote (which is becoming more common this day and age where redemptions are so high). They can delay the meeting multiple times to either get more votes or to try and find more financing which then lengthens the amount of time you have to wait to be able to redeem (or worse they call off the deal entirely and then the commons drop back to pre DA levels). So it really depends on how much time you want to put into it. I think you’ll struggle to get to 24% annualized doing this strategy, but I think you would be able to pull off 10+% pretty easily. It doesn’t sound all that sexy but it’s risk free. Since the market has been on easy mode, a lot of people would scoff at 10+% and you may find that it’s not worth the time. But you also know that your money is safe. Good luck if you decide to roll with it. Arbitrage is the only reason I still follow SPACs other than some warrant gambling.

This was my reasoning when I sold all the warrants in my Roth and bought TQQQ instead. I believe the NASDAQ will hit an ATH before pre-da warrants recover. Post-DA will be anyone's guess. PRPB-WS is holding up nicely, still over a dollar. But the same cannot be said about OACB-w, OCA-w, CRHC-w, BWAC-w, CHPM-w, or DUNE-W. ​ I'm not a bear either, but most of my taxable account has NAV protection now.

OCA: voting open thru the 30th to set the merger date with Kin on Jul 19. Holders as of Dec 27. ACEV: vote on 21st to extend merger deadline to July 13. If approved, sponsor will front up to $1.5m in loans to the target, Tempo Automation. I *think* holders as of Dec 15.

OCA filed another S-4/A yesterday. They also recently completed their acquisition of a defunct insurer that gives them licenses to operate in another 40 states. There certainly is risk of the deal falling through, and also risk of commons crashing after merge. However, with warrants at $0.62 today, risk/reward seems good at this point. Happily, I sold half of my warrant position when it was >$1. Bought some more this morning.

Asking as a spacling: are you referring to the backstop, with your minimum cash requirement comment? Also it says 92% institutional ownership with 73 funds holding OCA- all in it for arbitrage or a redemption play? (Sure feels like it to me).
Hope Kin is ready to either waive the minimum cash condition or terminate the merger. (Guessing OCA won’t have any luck raising additional PIPE in this environment lol. The initial PIPE raise was already weak, and since then LMND, ROOT, MILE, HIPO etc. have all gotten obliterated. If most tutes didn’t find the valuation particularly attractive back when the PIPE subscription agreements were signed…) in any case, based on the last round of 13Fs…Millennium, Glazer, Citadel, Magnetar…yeah sorry guys, levered arb funds just ate your lunch.
No such thing as a minimum DA pop. I used to hold dozens of pre-DA warrants. The only one I ever hit on was OCA/WS. Warrants went DOWN on DA.

What's the deal with OCA? Picked up some warrants a while back after someone mentioned them here. Up about 25% so far but the underlying does nothing and I can't find any news
Check how the comparables (HIPO, LMND, MILE, ROOT) they mentioned in their own investors presentation did since OCA announced their deal. Some of them are down more than 50% since then. That's a very bad sign to me. I know quite a few people here like this one because of the cheap warrants and the impressive growth. But like you mentioned it's easier to grow when you are starting from such a small base. I think the warrants might be a good trade as the merger vote should be close and a small runup might be in order but I wouldn't hold those after merger (unless you hope for a squeeze).

Been looking at some of the cheapest of the current DA warrants and saw that MDH finally filed its revised S-4 yesterday. Still sitting in the mid $0.60's but figure it should drift up to $1 just like some of the other lesser loved DA warrants did after a few revisions like OCA, SVOK and ENNV. I had good luck with all 3 of those. MDH is merging with Olive and Paylink. I started a small position today with 5K warrants. Anyone have thoughts on this one?
Start with Java tutorials on udemy. Pass and get your OCA cert. then study backend development on udemy. I did this took me 4 months of study. Then I googled top backend interview questions and studied them all, and memorized the top coding questions (palindrome man, most common one). Then I went through an Indian recruiting agency who already had shady deals in place lol
OCA/WS contining its rise. I've had this one forever and bought enough dips that it is now my second-largest position. I still think it is under-valued, and I am expecting it to rise above $1.5 by the time it de-SPACs late this year or early next year.

For me, that would be PACX, IACB, OCA. I like all of those, and all should be merging in the next 2-3 months. They are all rather less meme-y than DCRC, though. PPGH is good, but further from merge. I have less conviction in SVOK, but it should be merging in the next few months as well.

Started a position with OCA as I got a fill at 9.90 this morning. I'm not usually for buying SPAC commons but there could be some upcoming trading opportunities and these are more liquid than warrants. If not, it's a good place to average down from. Matt Higgens is a stellar operator, Sean Harper has the Chicago work ethic, if they can make this nationwide then we making some money.
I re-read older AMA with OCA/Kin, and they mentioned that pipe is 80M and they need about 58% of shares not to be redeemed to make up to 200M. In this current environment, having 58% shares remaining it's going to be hard to achieve. Are there other ways to achieve their goal? I'm I missing something?

What do you mean by coordinate with someone? That's the whole idea about the quote spread. It's the best bid/ask out there currently available. As for placing multiple orders but only having one filled. That's called an OCA order (one cancels another). Check with your brokerage platform on how to do that.
