Interesting movement with Polestar PSNYW
PSNY and PSNYW. I was extremely ignorant with stocks, bought ALOT September 2024 when they were 1.73... yeah, they purposely stay at 1.00. I also had warrants that I held for ~10 months, frustration and the DN*T/OP*N frenzy drove me to sell at .16 to try and make my money back... then psnyw temporarily rose to .70 for a day **a month later** (now its dropped again). Wasn't even trying to be greedy, thought that steady climb would continue, but i put all my eggs in 1 basket... I don't want to see those cars on the road that will remind me of one of my biggest mistakes. While you visit here and read educated "dd's" and facts about a company that make sense (someone here posted a good one on DFLI and I listened!!!), yet you go to psny subreddit they'll post fake stats or "the moons full today so the stock might rise". Not joking.
PSNYW going to hit 0.6
PSNYW with some ridiculous action. Traded as high as .80 on ridiculous volume.
So if i have 100 shares of PSNYW at 0.14 cents. Do i get to buy the stock at that price or the price of what PSNY is now at $1.
Polestar $PSNY Careful not to make the PSNYW mix up.
To be honest PSNYW became one of the stocks in my portfolio that I just sort of ignore and will revisit once a few years pass. Basically, like options, the warrant contract has a high upside, high downside. There’s a comment that says warrant contracts aren’t like options, but they are. There is an expiration so they can’t just be held forever like a common stock. Basically, as a holder of a warrant contract you are investing in a speculative way, not a fundamental way. It is not a standard investment approach but if you like Polestar, then be confident the speculation will pay off. At this point in the EV market, sales have slowed, hype has slowed down, and so I’m not nearly as confident in polestar as I used to be.
PSNYW vs PSNY Warrants vs Stoch
Oh, I see. There are two separate tickers, PSNY and PSNYW. Only PSNY has options. Lots of luck buying that .50 call. It has a volume and OI of 2. Yes, 2. And if you do manage to buy it, lots of luck getting a tripling of the price by mid-March just to break even.
I am a significant retail investor in this stock. Buying options is an extremely risky gamble. These options are illiquid and move in completely random and unexpected ways. Personally, to increase my exposure, I acquired a significant amount of PSNYW warrants last week. Let's see where all of this leads us. Good luck, and I hope you make a +200% return. A strategy that has been recommended to me is to buy the $4 calls and sell the $6 calls. Alternatively, in a second scenario, to buy the $5 calls and sell, but in a smaller quantity, the $5 puts. I won't do any of these, as I don't understand options strategies (not an expert).
PSNY would presumably be the common shares. PSNYW would be warrants. Super oversimplified, but a warrant is the right to buy shares at some established price in the future. For example, you might .59 for a warrant that lets you buy PSNY for 3.50 in 2 years. If PSNY is trading at $5 then, executing your warrant would give PSNY shares at a total expenditure of $3.50, plus the .59 cents you paid for the warrant, so $4.09. And you'd presumably be able to flip them for $5.
PSNYW. Polestar warrants

Polestar, any clue why the the price gap between the class A and class C stock (PSNY vs PSNYW) is so large. Shouldn't these be within a few cents of each other?
[Polestar reports global volumes for the third quarter of 2022 and confirms full year outlook](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/polestar-reports-global-volumes-for-the-third-quarter-of-2022-and-confirms-full-year-outlook-301643310.html) \- PSNY PSNYW "A recent ramp up in production following Covid-19 disruptions in China earlier in the year has resulted in significantly higher production rates and the company expects to meet its 50,000 global volume target for 2022 by delivering the remaining vehicles in the fourth quarter."
$PSNY... you won't be rich... but you won't lose it all... or more risky... $PSNYW... warrant, for about $1.45-$1.5
Closed out my PSNYW short position today. Picked them up first day post merger for around 2.60, bought them back today at 1.30. Was one of the few straightforward plays where there was enough shares available to avoid insane borrow fees, but still a high probability of the stock settling in a much lower range. I feel it’s unlikely we’ll see another Spac deal this big go through for a long time. Are there any pending that are even greater than 5 billion?
Yip, not to be confused with PSNYW
Awesome. PSNYW is my pick. I like the risk/reward.
