IMO, Having been through a couple halvings myself, you definitely should get some BTC. Just do it, dont think about it. Your portfolio is pretty heavy in the risky side right now. That being said, Osmo and Dym are actually decent options if you can keep dca down. They have great staking rewards and are in line for more airdrops (quite a few have been announced). Ive made ALOT with the Cosmos ecosystem from airdrops and staking, especially this last cycle. However, its still not an autopilot option. With the Cosmos ecosystem its going to take patience and require more research and time to make sure that the claim/airdrops are legit or not. When you do get something, take your profits and put them back into your pocket with BTC and possibly some fiat (for fun or whatever). I know this is probably not going to be the most popular opinion, just wanted to offer a different perspective based on two of the projects.

ALOT of people truly don't understand the concept that "past performance does not guarantee future performance." It's easier to 1000x a million dollar market cap than it is to 10x a trillion dollar one. People don't seem to grasp that the status quo has to change and they may not like what that means.

I just got some yesterday. I looked on solacan and there are a lot of transactions,,but I noticed ALOT were an address sending to radium then radium send to an address that then sent to radium. There’s a long trail to follow. I didn’t cause that’s a lot of work. I have a NFT that says for airdrop go to bonkcoinbox.netlify.app and I did with a wallet containing $3, connected and it says I was eligible. I was curios so I attached another one with history and it said I did qualify, said eligible. I knew I was about to be robbed but I clicked it, but I didn’t. Nothing happened, I didn’t get airdrop, nor robbed. Anyone else go to that site? Normally they are shit down or u get a warning, especially with phone but this one seemed legit, but the next day I did get this cat airdrop, but assumed it was from phone order

I agree Sol network is much nicer to use then ETH, and is faster than Matic, but at this point in the market, SOL is up 10x from bottoms while other blue chips are up 2-3x. There is a thing called undervalued and overvalued. While I don't think SOL is overvalued, everything else is undervalued and has ALOT of room to run. How easy would it be for SOL do 2x from here? That would mean SOL would have to +50% from its ATH even before ETH does. On the flipside, how easy would it be for ADA to 2x from here? It's currently 60 cents with an ATH of $3 back in 2021 with basically no infrastructure, while ETH is sitting near previous ATHs. So being 97% in SOL right now is not good risk/reward when there are so many other you can rotate SOL profits into. Of course this is only my opinion, people can do whatever they want with their stack.

I mean, crypto has some fantastic gains, just have to pick the right ones, there is ALOT of shit out there, I find regular more rational, or atleast not as corrupt if you find a good business to invest in.

I don’t think you get the meaning of the term supply shock. A “supply shock” really only makes sense in the context of price. The ETFs are currently buying ALOT more Bitcoin than what is being mined, and the amount of new supply is being cut in half. Therefore, the ETFs rely on sellers of Bitcoin to meet their demand and as a consequence, the price goes up. If for example, the demand for silver suddenly went through the roof, the price would also go up, but then everyone would scramble to produce more silver, which would send the price crashing back down again. The inability to recreate this dynamic with Bitcoin is why the combination of increased demand and decreased supply is so exciting in terms of price. Yes, you could argue that it’s less consequential now that most Bitcoin has been mined, but keep in mind the price is also astronomically higher per coin now than it was when say, less than 50% of the supply was mined

I wouldnt trust some random company tbh, its easy to "fit" the bot to a specific data set and it will show great results, it could look insane, great, good or mediocre depending on how obvious they want to make the scam look to drag in potential idiots. The thing is if you have a successful bot, why are you selling it? Because then loads of others will buy that and then the "edge" in time becomes useless. Another factor is most bots are not on 24/7 365 days of the year, they are used for specific market conditions meaning people who use bots tend to have ALOT of them, see a potential ma cross? Use bot x, potential scalp on the 1 min timeframe for the next hr? Use bot y etc etc. Lastly bot are made by programmers not traders, so alot of the time it comes back to fitting data as these programmers spend alot of time making the bot work to a certain degree that it could make money so in turn they can sell the bot to make cash, rather than using it to trade and make cash. I hope this was informative for someone or anyone and its just my 2 cents having made a few myself for forex in the past.

I don't hold any BTC nowadays, but BTC dropped around 80% from ATH to the bottom, so although it isn't as bad as -98% or -96%, going by your logic, maybe you shouldn't be holding any of coins :D You have to keep in mind that even tho my portfolio dropped ALOT, what matters is when i got in. If you bought ETH at 50$, at current prices if ETH dropped 90% you'd still be in for a good profit, and that's what happened to me mostly on the second bullrun. Although i watched about 96% of my portfolio balance burn, i was mostly breaking even on my initial investment, which in reality isn't that good, but i'm patient and waited. at the moment above 70% on initial investment, a good \~20% up from yesterday. And no i don't hold meme coins, nor anything below top10.

Using large chin is of money to pay off debt isn’t really smart as long as you are comfortably handling the debt as is. It’s a different story if you are struggling. If you invest 100k now in bc it could easily be 200-400k within a couple years. If you pay your house off do you make enough to be able to invest that amount over the next couple years? Will you have the willpower to not spen it on other things and just invest. People think the banks were just trying to get them to continue paying interest years ago when they told people not to pay off debt and invest it instead. There is legitimacy to it though. Large amount of money invested properly will grow quickly, and is better in the long run. 100k invested now will be worth ALOT more and will gain far more in interest or gains in the stock market now then 100k invested over 10-15 years.

I am tired of waiting for a transaction to complete on Eth, with the hugely inflated gas fee. I always feel completely ripped off when using Eth. Have a look at how often Eth crashed when it was first released. The answer is more than Solana. The release of FireDancer will officially take Solana out of BETA, allowing the chain to reach 1 million TPS. Like it, or hate it, Solana will turn heads in the foreseeable future, and its price will reflect that. Do I hate Eth - hell no, although its utility will be different from what Solana will offer.

I didn't request any but I did see the post. TL:DR I'm picking up what you're putting down. I just think there's more nuance to it than just measuring time or karma. Early into a possible bull market. I get the point you're making. But i myself don't have alot of karma. Despite regularly visiting this sub reddit. I joined awhile ago. But I was just getting into crypto so had limited knowledge. This sub helped me learn ALOT. Both what to do and what not to do. Helped me spot red flags better. However when you 1st join there's a probation period. So you can't comment or post. But the ability to do so would've also been a HUGE benefit for me and other. There were several times I wanted to ask a question or or get clarification. But I was unable to. So i went outside this sub to ask my question. Which resulted in having to join alot of subs dedicated to a specific crypto. But that has the problem of becoming an echo chamber for that coin/token. So you aren't able to get the unbiased perspective you may get in a general sub like this one. So I drifted away from this sub for awhile and only coming back now that the market is going upward. Which now it's nice I can comment. But i don't think those metrics are the best way to determine who should get what.

In theory, I think we indeed would go back to the last non-corrupted block, which would require a Hard fork. You're right, it would be VERY expensive to do this, and there's more incentive to mine than there is to destroy it at this point. You'd have to be someone, a nation state with ALOT of resources who just wants to see Bitcoin burn with nothing to gain from it.

Can anyone tell me why they keep saying the average transfer fee is approx 35 but in reality it's ALOT more than that....even if you choose "slow" from ledger the cost is like 100 or more to send .001 btc....presummably, if you set the sats per byte to something like 150 to get a more "reasonable" fee, it could take days or longer...I just don't get it...makes it impossible to move btc...

Been deep in industry since 2019ish, working for three different orgs (one top 15, one top 150, & currently one early stage). I work on mostly lower-level work, and have dabbled with traditional 'blockchain dev' (solidity type stuff) too. Most of my work is rust-centric. The best engineers I know, and those that tend to stick around through the bear, don't get into crypto b/c of the hype, they find themselves in crypto because it aligns with the tech they want to work on (Cryptography, distributed systems, compilers, programming languages, databases etc.) & because they get to work on projects that have a positive impact on the world while working on teams that are highly passionate about what they do (and no, i'm not talking about NFT's). Many of these devs come from the Open Source world. They used to work on cryptographic primitives (rust-crypto, ed25519) for languages like Rust, or networking stuff (look into libp2p/kademlia), or from compiler/language design (EVM is a virtual machine, lots of chains use WASM-based execution these days that can be optimized for the use case), or on databases (rocksDB/levelDB is often overlayed with a trie and used as an abstraction for blockchain state). Low level blockchain dev pulls in lots of different specialties, and so it's actually a great thing to get into if you want to learn about these different things. The one I didn't mention is consensus design, which is probably the most difficult/theoretical part (things like implementing pBFT consensus, or Cardano’s Ouroboros. If you want to get into that, I’d highly suggest doing some pet projects first implementing simple consensus systems to get the hang of it, as well as reading lots of academic papers about these designs. Alot of crypto is open source, since developing trust with a community is of the utmost importance. If you have a closed protocol, how are people supposed to trust what's happening on the network if it can't be audited by anyone. The part about being open source is important, because that's the best way to break into the industry, and it's how I got into it too. Find a good, well-supported project, ideally with contributors from the teams core willing to mentor newcomers, find something you like, and get started contributing. It might be really difficult at first to make sense of the code you’re seeing, but just keep going. Ask questions in the discord, in the issue, research, watch YouTube videos, learn the fundamentals of the problem you’re trying to solve, and keep at it. It’s so much info to digest, but as you go along you’ll learn. It’s important to find something that interests you first, and go from there. If you have pet projects, build on them in the open on GitHub. This can be daunting at first, since everything you code will be available for anyone to gawk at, but it leads to many a learning opportunity for you. Find communities on Discord and Reddit where you can share your code for code review on pet projects to improve your skill. Once you’ve built up a portfolio of Open Source projects you’ve worked on & openly collaborated with, that speaks 1000% more than anything you could put on a resume, and it leads to lots of recruiters in your DM’s. Just be careful, because there are ALOT of scam projects, or projects without real utility out there. Try to choose things that you think could make a real, positive impact on the world. Don’t trust what anyone says, and try to verify it on your own. Do that with everything. Trust your gut, if a project says its doing something but it feels off, or there's gaps in what they're doing/lacking real, actionable goals, or just goals that are outright impossible, avoid.

I’m a school counselor, and computers tend to ahit on me… by your logic, you should be a mechanic to invest in the automative field, or contractor to buy real estate investments… I read… ALOT, anf from everything I’ve read, user experiences, white papers, and adoption rates, Algorand’s tech is bar-none, better than any other tech out there. more important is to not repeat the error of the past and trust the exchanges with the coins, you mention MTGOX and i remember living it and see ALOT of people getting wiped out on bitcointalk but that was about 10 years ago, now we have plenty of ways to store any crypto out of exchanges , ledger, trezor etc etc etc

I started learning TA LONG before it became "mainstream". It mostly is a self fulfilling prophecy IMHO. As someone mentioned it does at least give you some strategies to follow which never hurts. And FYI there us some who have made ALOT of money using TA.

I purchase ALOT of medical devices and if I could create a contract to be filled by a select group of vendors, I could set my price and increase the price I’m willing to pay over time, all pre set, with instant payment and confirmation of processing (avoiding back order scenarios). This would allow vendors to execute/fill orders at lower prices without the constant need to notify me of that potential. Right now, reordering is done “blind” , there is no time to compare prices or haggle to save tax dollars
