Hi everyone, I am 25yM and currently heading into my second year of work. I am meeting with my financial advisor provided through my hospital to review and make changes to my 403b. My current investments are: Approx: 28% VFWSX 27% VIIIX 12% RERGX 9% DOXGX 8% VEMPX 6% DFCEX 3% NRGSX 2% PRRIX 1% HNACX What is your opinion on my portfolio given my age and wanting higher risk? It looks as if I’m in about 50/50 US vs international stocks. Thinking this should be closer to 80/20. What changes would you make? If you comment with initial thoughts, I can dm you a list of the options I have to choose from. It would be much appreciated . Thanks everyone!

Here are the funds that I’m holding in my employer 401k… JLGMX - Large Cap Growth - 45% FXAIX - SP500 - 35% FSMAX - Mid Caps - 10% RERGX- Europe - 7% SPAXX - Money Market/Dry Powder - 3%

I agree that there is no purpose in having 2 target date funds. stick with only 1 of them. AF EUPAC FUND R6 - RERGX is one of the funds that is in my 401k too. - 3 star fund, expense ratio of .47, since inception in 2009, it has averaged around an 8% return. My 401k does not have exposer to the other funds mentioned.

returns are net of fees. you don't subtract the fees from the returns, because the stated the returns already adjust for any fees. >Am I correct in assuming that in the long run ETF1 would return more than ETF2? Only if past returns continue in those exact numbers into the future. But that may or may not happen. however, RERGX is not directly comparable to VEMIX. RERGX is actively managed and mostly 'developed markets' and about 20% in 'emerging markets', while VEMIX is an index fund and entirely 'emerging markets'. https://www.capitalgroup.com/individual/investments/fund/rergx

401K portfolio suggestions? New to investing, I have a 401K through my employer. This is the investment lineup currently offered: - BAGIX – Baird Aggregate Bond Fund - Vanguard Institutional 500 Index Trust - Vanguard Institutional Extended Market Index Trust - Vanguard Total Bond Market Index Trust - Vanguard Institutional Total International Stock Market Index Trust - DOXGX – Dodge & Cox Stock Fund - JSNWX – Janus Henderson Small Cap Value Fund - QISCX – Federated Hermes International Small-Mid Company Fund - RERGX – American Funds EuroPacific Growth Fund - Schwab SDB Sweep Program - VIPIX – Vanguard Inflation-Protected Securities Fund - VMFXX – Vanguard Federal Money Market Fund - VPMAX – Vanguard PRIMECAP Fund What portfolio combinations would you recommend? I’m 30 years old BTW.

I appreciate that perspective and will take that into consideration. What would you say would be a good ratio? 75% VFIAX, 10% VSMAX, 10% VIMAX and perhaps 5% into RERGX, or should I at that point not even bother and use 80% VFIAX, 10% VSMAX, 10% VIMAX setup?

People are going to only look at the expense ratios without looking up the history of these funds. RERGX has a historically great track record and has beaten its relative index after fees. It’s one of the most common funds you’ll find in 401k plans for that reason. Use that to cover your international sleeve. In your shoes I would use a combination of RERGX along with the small, mix and large cap vanguard indexes.

Same here. It's a good base and charges lower fees (0.03%) than anything else here. Personally I'd put a few percent into foreign companies, and while I don't love any of these options I'd lean toward RERGX. It's an actual international fund (DOXGX is appears to be 80% US) and as much as I'd love to see Emerging Markets take off, EM *funds* are so expensive.

Starting new job soon and need some help with selecting 401k plan and possible contributions. 41 and can max out: Balanced: RLBGX, Vanguard target retirement up to 2070 Large equity: JPMCB Large Cap Growth CF-A CIT, SSgA S&P 500 Index Non Lending K Fund Small/mid: FLMVX, VMCIX,VSCIX,VSIIX,IARIX International: RERGX, VTMNX Any recommendations? Maybe the S&P 500 index fund mix with something else or the vanguard target retirement?

FSKAX is great for all your US coverage. With those choices, I'd consider using your IRA and taxable accounts to get ex-US exposure instead, as FSPSX is developed markets only (no emerging) and RERGX is a limited number of holdings actively managed find with higher ER.

My 401k is currently 100% invested in a Vanguard 500 fund and I want to diversify a bit. Which of these international funds look good to add? There's no total world fund unfortunately. RERGX - American Funds EuroPacific Growth Fund® Class R-6 (.46%) RGBDX - American Funds Global Balanced R6 (.48%) ODMAX - Invesco Developing Markets Fund Class A (1.2%) VTMGX - Vanguard Developed Markets Index Fund Admiral Shares (0.07%) 30m, don't plan on selling out anytime soon.

So I was coming to ask this question. I’m 27. I never pay attention to the market cause I’m looking for more long term. However, I may be leaving this company in the next 1.5 years & would have to sell & transfer my portfolio. Would you still recommend holding in that scenario? I’m currently at 30% VSMAX , 25% RSEJX, 10% CSSPX, 10*RERGX, 15% OSMYX, 10%VAN TARGET 2055. TIA

Move to Target Date Fund or Keep Current holdings? I don't love my employers 401K options. I am very happy with what I have done with my IRA and personal brokerage, but I struggle with the 401k because I just don't love the options compared to what I have elsewhere. They are missing some classes of investment, each class has only a single option, and in some of those classes I just don't feel comfortable with the option. So my question is, do I just move it into a Target Date fund (which is a reasonable fund, even if I am not 100% satisfied with it) or do I keep my current allocation (which because of available options, I am also not satisifed with) Target Date option: SIA Target Date 2050 Class 1 Current holdings: Large Cap Blend --> FXAIX -->50% of holdings small cap blend-->FSSNX -->14 international large blend --> FTIHX-->12 international large growth --> RERGX -->12 international large value--> OANIX -->12 (note, those are the only international options, no domestic value options, only growth or blend, no mid cap option)

I know my situation doesn't really apply to this sub but I'm super worried so I will ask. I've lost 11% of my 401k in the past month or two. It has taken me over a decade to earn this money and I live in poverty otherwise, so watching it crash is causing me a lot of anxiety. I just want to know if I will (probably) be ok or if I need to rebalance my portolfio. These are what I hold: RYSEX (0.67% of account) RERGX(22%) PRGFX(30%) <- this one has been getting fucked inside out and back PCBIX(0.76%) FFOLX(46.31%) The % of account don't reflect current contributions because I think I rebalanced a year ago for the first time. Thanks in advance.
