Have you audited the firmware running on your printer? Even if the firmware was innocuous, that you spun up an airgapped PC to generate the model, sliced it and copied the gcode to an SD card, printed, then reflashed your printer for good measure, how is that a better process than writing the words on a piece of paper? Plenty of ways to encode a mnemonic with a hammer and basic punch or even a screwdriver. You don't need fancy letter punches and pre-engraved plates.

Cardano doesn't use Haskell anymore. Alternative languages have been developed for smart contracts that are much more developer-friendly (can look up Aiken). Cardano's issues have more to do with UTXO not playing well with popular DEX formats and lack of stablecoin liquidity because Cardano Foundation has a stick up their ass. IOG is hoping Midnight solves these issues by bypassing CF, but who knows.

Not even sure what point that would be but I'll take your word for it. Regarding SPOs: So they're valuable to partner chains... of which there is one... which isn't live yet. Seems like every aspect of Cardano is extremely good and extremely valuable in theory, then in practice it's never utilized by anyone except IOHK/CF dogfooding their own products, like this example of Cardano not having a single partner chain except for the chain being built by the same people that built Cardano...

Irrelevant and underwhelming. Why those words? Well lets just lay out some things that are important to the success of a blockchain in 2025 and how Cardano is doing in each area: speed - Cardano is slow AF, 20 second block times. cost - Cardano fees are larger than pretty much every other chain. I think only Tron and ETH L1 are ever more expensive. throughput - tiny blocks that can't fit much, looking at cexplorer right now shows blocks with 30-40 txns taking up almost half the block space, meaning at that rate with similar sized transactions it would max out at 60-100 txns per block and with 20 second block times, that's only 3-5 TPS. scaling solutions - Hydra has been usable for 2+ years now but no one uses it, Leios still in development, and no one outside of IOHK/CF seems to want to build or use any scaling solutions for Cardano usage - It barely even manages a single transaction per second and before you "ackshually EUTXO means transactions can have more outputs", they typically have like 1 extra output if any. If you look at DEX activity, the network only did $2,700,000 in volume in the last 24 hours(with the highest volume coin being a memecoin), compared to $27,000,000,000 in DEX volume throughout all of crypto. That mean's Cardano's share of the total DEX volume in crypto is .01%. developer traction - very few protocols in general, for it's size, and really not a single Cardano project that has reached "escape velocity" where people elsewhere actually care about it. Cardano is a $30b chain and the most successful projects unique to it is... Liqwid at $62m? stablecoins - They haven't been able to get any major stablecoins issued on Cardano and the few that are there have limited liquidity. cash flows/economic sustainability - SPOs get paid over 99% from the ADA reserve and less than 1% comes from actual fees paid. Individual fees are already expensive as it is with little competition for block space, so fees need to come down on average by a lot, but also need to at least 100x in aggregrate despite not really having the block space to do so. RWAs - Cardano has Palmyra, a commodities trading platform, and that's about it. Leadership - Charles continues to brag about how Cardano is doing everything right, he lacks humility, he's often hypocritical, he's overly adversarial, and the rest of IOHK/CF are obviously at fault as well for being such an early mover in crypto and failing to materialize it into anything. Especially considering they have a large engaged community that seems to never engage with the actual chain that they supposedly believe is the best. It would be one thing if Cardano was valued at like $500m, but it's literally the 5th highest valued smart contract platform and in most important metrics would be placing close to dead last.

I struggle to see what he has done bad here? And what does it matter there was no consensus when he CF and emurgo had genesis keys and could do whatever they want with the chain anyway in that time 4 years ago. You could post it in the cardano community but you're posting this in the cc sub just because you want to defame charles, or it at least heavily feels like it. But no one cares. I personally am very grateful for his contributions to the chain and that he burned those genesis keys

I did see if it was transferable to ETH but for some reason the value is equivalent to nothing if I were to swap it for ETH or another coin. Figured it was a scam 😅

Tether's business model actually makes a lot of sense, and it would be insane for them to be doing anything sketchy to risk it. The vast majority of their funds are held in US treasuries. Just for the ease of math, lets assume they're holding $100 billion (I saw a report from July stating like ~$95 billion, so probably not far off). Lets also assume they're making an average of 4% on those bonds (lower than the entire yield curve atm). That alone is $4 billion annual revenue for like a 200 person company. They're basically acting like a bank except that they don't offer any interest and don't issue loans (AFAIK). As long as they structure their bonds properly to protect from duration risk, and keep enough cash on hand to meet redemption demands, their entire business model is basically just earning a "risk free return" using other people's money. Obviously if bond rates go down that will eat into their profits, but even if they were halved, they'd still be an insanely profitable company. While it would be nice if they had a thorough public audit, there are a lot of potential reasons for why they don't. That said, Cantor Fitzgerald is who manages their bonds, and also reportedly recently bought at 5% stake in Tether for ~$600 million. I can't imagine they'd do that if Tether was publicly lying about their bond holdings, which CF would obviously be aware of as they manage those bonds, so that is pretty solid evidence everything is on the level imo. Of course, they absolutely could be doing sketchy shit as well, but I just don't see why they'd risk that when they're already making money hand over fist by just doing what they say they're doing.

As the long term gains from BTC have outshined any altcoins, by far, the charts are public it is easy to check. This cycle is not like the 2 previous cycles. I believe yes you will see some short term growth in some alts, not all. But since most of the current momentum on BTC comes from institutional capital (corporate and sovereign), you won't see that capital trickle down to Alts as much as in the previous cycles. You will however see new retail investors who will be looking for "more upside" than in BTC, or other day traders who will rotate from BTC, to Alts, back to BTC. You better find your chair when the music stops though, because for every winner there will be at least one loser.

I think it's a bit more complicated than that since IOG (formerly IOHK) is the engineering arm of the three founding entities. When people think of who develops Cardano, it's generally them, not the CF. IOHK was registered in Hong Kong, but has moved to Colorado, USA and has been renamed to IO Global. But it doesn't stop there, because Cardano is also transitioning to member based organizations as part of their decentralized gov roadmap, and more inclusive MBO's like Intersect and Pragma are replacing the original tripartite structure. Intersect's main office is in Wyoming, but they also operate globally. I saw the original post where the rumors came from, and it said it will provide a path for those moving to the USA, so either way I don't really see an issue for Cardano the way the rumor stated the details. Personally, I think it would be hard to categorize Bitcoin. I'm an Ada holder, but I don't buy this rumor because logistically it doesn't make sense for decentralized networks even for Cardano who operates globally, has gov and dev workshops all over the world including the US.

MSTR at this point is probably a pure BTC play. Last I heard MSTR was cashflowing like $30 million? A paltry sum relative to their BTC holdings and balance sheet (what I saw on marketwatch was all over the place for both CF and NI and I'm not gonna go to SEC to see the official statements at this late hour). Here's the kicker for MSTR though, lots of funds are *mandated* by law or contract to only invest in certain types of instruments and securities, and BTC is almost never one of those items, so buying MSTR is a viable strategy since it's a publicly traded company (i.e. registered security with the SEC) and frankly they were there first before the ETFs and maaaaybe there's an element of bias towards Saylor and MSTR both for the slim fiscal benefit (MSTR "pays" to own BTC while ETFs cost to own BTC, not that I think it's worth the 2x MSTR is currently trading relative to the fees charged by ETFs) so yeah, idk, maybe that? Mate there are 7 genesis keys. 3 with IOHK 2 with CF 2 with Emurgo. iOHK does not have a majority multisig keys to change the chain without approval from one of the other foundation arms. Even then, block production and validators are entirely decentralised and can reject updates they disagree with. This has already happened in the ecosystem where SPOs refused to update their nodes before another audit was done. So even if iOHK does force a change, it relies on the community agreeing for it to have any effect.
