🤣 I was deep in Fintech back then. Early 00s to 18. I had hundreds of opportunities to get some. Back then though EVERYONE in IT & Fintech had the belief that it was a scam/fake internet $$. Food also need to live, but the riches doesn't store their wealth in tons of canned foods. The physical things has lifespan, amortization. If you LIVE in a real estate it doesn't produce any value (aside from location-based speculation which is maintained by actual politics), technically you just turn a huge amount of your liquid wealth into an illiquid asset. If you buy investment real estate for renting it's more like an entrepreneurship than fully passive investment. If you rent it to an all-inclusive agency, you have to pay them and your return of investment will be below or near the long term bond yield which is more passive and LIQUID than real estate.

Always DCA, HODL, warm/cold wallet storage once at a certain amount — repeat. 5-10 years later you’ll be thanking yourself for the rest of your life and can take just profit, HODL, and diversify the money even more for further passive income. I'm sorry mate. You fucked up. As others say. 1. Get a hardware wallet directly from the vendor (Trezor or Ledger are good options). 2. Make sure the seals on the wallet packaging are original and not tampered with. 3. Setup the recovery phrase following the instructions and make several copies for your self. 1. Note: DO NOT USE LEDGERS LIVE RECOVERY SERVICE OR ANY SIMILAR SERVICE. While ledger wallets are safe, their online recovery service has previously been compromised and I wouldn't trust it. You must be responsible for your own keys. 4. Store one copy of the recovery phrase in a safe at home, and another copy of it in a safety deposit box or another safe at a loved ones house. Do not share the code or the phrase with anyone. 5. Create a will with detailed instructions on how to recover using the phrase in the case of your untimely death. This is the easiest way to have fool proof your crypto wallets and keep them safe. You can also look at storing your recovery phrase digitally using PGP encryption or Steganography techniques, but a physical safe/locked bag should be enough in most cases. Remember that fires and other disasters are possible so multiple locations for the recovery phrase is important. Good luck mate, this is an expensive lesson but hopefully others who see this are also inspired to take their own security more seriously.
