inflation is inflation. with inflation at 8% for 2022, that is how much our purchasing power will lose *if* we are in dollars. But how much is BTC down? A year ago TO THE DAY it was hovering at $60K! I don't know how much you math speak but that is ~ a 70% drop. Hopefully you don't have to sell at this point which means you can ride the storm out. Look I work as a crypto analyst for one of the largest publishing companies in the space. Won’t name it here but we have 300k+ readers for our crypto products around the world. There’s probably about 2 coins max outside of ETH I’d want to even consider betting on long term and even then I’m iffy. One of them is Polygon. Fact is most of the stuff out there is garbage and average crypto investors don’t realize how iffy even the basis of crypto overall is- for example the immutability of the ledger can completely fuck you in case of hack or fraud or wrong address- millions can be lost. Most aren’t even open to the idea that BTC itself may be a psyop and not knowing the creator has at least some level of nonzero risk. What’s really sad is the leaders at my firm had our subscribers buy the top and kept thinking the bull market would come back when it was obvious to me not to buy anything at all this entire year. I actually sold and publicly called the DAY of the top last November. Now just calling the top of very different than executing and holding huge futures positions down the whole day - I’m not that skilled. But I sniped and publicly called the exact bottom last July 2021 and the top Nov 2021. My personal opinion is to professionally get out of the crypto industry because based on the way monetary policy is going I don’t want to waste my time doing nothing for 2 years when I could make more money elsewhere. If I were a fund manager raising capital or a VC or a dev earning big bucks I’d stay. But I’m not. So yea don’t stress your brain out unless you have the technical chops to hang
