... do *you* know what it means? I'm not a DOGE bagholder and never will be, but come on. the screenshot provides zero info on what this exploit is. Is it actually a DOGECOIN protocol flaw? Or was it just a flaw in the network setups of those nodes? If it was a flaw with the actual base layer, then why not take 100% of nodes offline? without addtl info, this sounds more akin to some popular mining pool getting ddos'd or something. I am annoyed by DOGE as much as the next guy, but it feels like the teapot calling the kettle black until I see a technical writeup of what this alleged exploit is.

Crypto is so unpredictable, the makeup of people buying and selling is fundamentally different to more traditional trading: 1. No matter what people say, they're not in it 'for the long term', they're in it to hopefully turn £100 into millions. 2. Far too many consumer traders assume that point 1 is actually possible 3. Far too many consumer traders put money in they can't really afford to lose, thinking they're about make it rich, and thus panic whenever the market takes a downward dip 4. FOMO, and resulting panic sells, can cause truly HUGE spikes and troughs, but they can often be over so quickly - less than a minute - that you simply can't react to them, and you certainly can't predict them 5. No one really HOLDS, as no one sees crypto as a true long term investment. There's nothing tangible there, so you have to treat every dip as potentially the last ATH that token will ever have. 6. News that would have huge positive benefits in traditional markets, such as a new big player trading or accepting a particular token, don't have the same impacts in crypto, purely because such things normally bring about long term benefits, and there are no long term benefits in crypto. One plus point is, reactionary trades are much more common - someone famous tweets something about DOGECOIN, typically it's going to have a spike etc. There's definitely fatigue in this area, but if you can still catch the beginning of a rumble, you can make some cash. As mentioned though, the spikes can be over quickly. Having failed at any kind of analytical trading, I ended up making my profits waiting until the market was in a dip, and using DCA. A friend makes the odd point here and there by day trading on the natural dips and spikes, but even then doesn't always get it right and mostly is reliant on "it'll always go up in the end" to save his ass.

It doesn't matter how good the network functions, if people aren't adopting it. Look at BTC, it's basically fucking useless in comparison. ETH is basically useless in comparison to BTC (as an L1). Who knew 4 years ago that once a joke coin (DOGECOIN) would be accepted as a currency by Tesla and would have a market cap of over 20 billion? If NFT is used for utilities, then it could be a game changer in many industries. Look at r/Nftbooks.
