I mean, if you want an/my honest answer: First, it's important you're aware that Bitcoin is divisible down to the 8th decimal. That means I can trade you 0.00000001 BTC. The community has taken to calling this lowest unit of measure a "Satoshi". Forgive me if you know this already but just in case you don't. Now, what I think is likely going to happen is this. The powers to be have realised this can't be stopped. BlackRock's Larry Fink, Donald J. Trump, Jerome Powell (yesterday), the Swiss Central Bank. South korea. One billionaire after another. Even Vladimir Putin yesterday. It's not going anywhere. Here's how I think it plays out: Most of these institutions/big players know this is happening, whether they want or not. So they're stacking. They want to be sure they're "wealthy" in what was first a "small risk" of a paradigm shift. That risk is now no longer a "small risk". I work with ultra high net worth individuals on a daily basis, and while this is purely anecdotal, trust me; they're buying. A lot. Where does that leave the rest? Michael Saylor has a great quote. "You get Bitcoin at the price you deserve." In a "new paradigm" where wealth has slowly shifted to Bitcoin, and the currently wealthy people + early adopters were the first to make that move; not much changes in terms of who's wealthy, and who's not. But one thing changes. The every-man is suddenly able to "hold on to his value". What is value? It's time spent working a job for someone else. It's the energy your organism spent in this world, hoping to one day redeem it for someone elses energy. It's doing X for this guy, so another guy will one day do Y for you. That is a **BIG deal**. Why? Because suddenly you don't have to work, work, work, just to *keep up*. People don't realise this yet, but you cannot save. Invest? Yes. But save? No. We all have families and loved ones who put money aside for a rainy day - but do the math on what a 10% increase in the money supply yearly will do to your money. In just a few years, the *value/energy* your USD represents has more than halved. And other currencies? Much worse. It keeps people enslaved, without going too tinfoily here. But "they can never catch a break". No matter how little they spend and much they save, how careful they treat their money and their spending, they end up in the hamster-wheel. Inflation is eating away their purchasing power and rewarding that same power to the capital markets (ie. stocks, houses, etc.) right into the pockets of the currently wealthy. And so there is no other incentive than to mindlessly consume. Buy that random new plastic thingie, there's no chance you'll ever be able to afford a house anyways. Your money is eroding like sand in your hands, and inflation is pushing all the new money into the wealthiest class as they buy their 19th house (ie. take it off the market) trying to protect their own wealth, understandably so. The current financial system incentivises the rich to hoard (or they lose their money), and the less fortunate to work and consume endlessly with no hope of ever *really* saving anything. For the first time in human history, a normal person is actually able to save their spent energy in any meaningful way, and it means that they can consume less; and by consuming less hopefully gain a financial pillow to build a business, invest in a company, or buy a home. Or maybe just pay their daughters university 10 years down the line. Bitcoin fixes the money, and fixing the money fixes the world.

Therefore, I’ve been spending a lot of time self educating, and more importantly educating our kids getting them accounts setup, showing how to manage, etc. I’m a big fan of generational wealth, so I really want to start that for our kids and teach them to do it for theirs, and so on. Quantum computers are not just magic. It is true that they could easily break some types of cryptography, but that's a very nuanced landscape. I'll try to explain in simple terms. Bitcoin uses essentially three different types of cryptographic primitives (algorithms): elliptic-curve arithmetic for digital signature (ECDSA), discrete log-based signature scheme (Schnorr, in taproot) and hashing functions (SHA-256, RIPEMD-160). These algorithms are very different from each other, and cracking them requires very specific quantum algorithms, famously the Shor's algorithm makes integer prime factorization very efficient compared to traditional algorithms. This can be adapted to tackle also discrete log problems. All in all cracking "analytic" algorithms is relatively easy or at least suitable for the characteristics of quantum computers, while hash functions a totally different beast, as they are not about multiplication, exponentiation, etc. they are about scrambling blocks of data, performing XORs and reshuffling over and over again, as far as I know there is no efficient approach to finding collisions in hash functions, even in the quantum world, not for nothing one of the first NIST-approved post-quantum algorithms (SPHINCS+) is based on hash functions. In order to crack bitcoin cryptography you would need to break at least one or two hash algorithm and one digital signature. Of course this does not mean that Bitcoin is quantum-proof, because it is not. Sooner or later quantum computers and algorithms will be efficient enough that the cost (and time) of cracking Bitcoin's cryptography will be feasible, at least to steal BIG amounts, surely not my UTXOs :) The response will probably be to switch to quantum resistant algorithms (e.g. based on structured lattice calculation), maybe 10 or 15 years before the threat is realistic. Bottom line: it's a problem that will be solved a decade before it becomes viable.

The "real" alt season isn't still here and this is why: Most people are claiming this is THE alt season (well, what about March 2023?) but most annalists expect the peak of this cycle to be somewhere between Q2 and Q3 of 2025, and traditionally most of the alts rally just before the cycle peak ends. I'm not saying history is going to repeat itself but it's the most predictable scenario. BTC dominance will probably rebound in a few weeks, slowing altcoin growth. I recommend you taking at least some profits right now. Those of you who argue this is the BIG alt season, what are your arguments?

Ever heard of Mt. Gox or FTX? That's why. Ledger doesn't have your seed unless you opt in and pay them to do it. First rule of crypto is not yo keys not yo crypto. Cold storage is the only truly secure storage. Or just by into an ETF. But you're risking losing it on any exchange. Hardware cold storage is unhackable. You'll hear that word used but they mean is they fell for some scam. Like the "my Facebook got hacked crowd". No it didn't. You fell for the strange person who messaged you saying they were locked out of their account and asked if they could send you a code and then you send it back to them. And BAM they now own your account and usually your phone. Several people i know personally have fallen for that one. My own daughter just a few days ago. BIG difference in actually getting hacked and doing something incredibly stupid.

"They numbers are out there" is making a lot of assumptions, and sort of reveals how little one knows about finance in general when one makes statements like this (no offense). First of all, what numbers are we talking about exactly? Because "number go up" is not a valid argument in a world where you can go long, go short, sell vol, arbitrage, and dispersion trade. Many of those involved with BTC focus on that and possible other crypto as a sole investment, thus concentrating risk which is a huge no no in finance. So let's say im your typical investor and im willing to risk 10% (a large position) into crypto. How do i express this position? Personally I would go long BTC futures, which does not expose me to any risk of owning the underlying asset. This is a far more efficient use of my capital than buying BTC or fractional amounts of BTC, but also circumvents the need for me to accept any 'use case' argument for needing to actually own it. By efficient use I mean it frees up the rest of my capital (by relying on a leveraged asset) so that i can capture returns from other trades while BTC is stagnant. "The numbers are out there" -too many are focused on a BIG number and don't seem to understand that it's % return that matters. Sure, BTC was up 34% the other day, but INTC was up 36%, so those numbers are out there too, should i have yoloed everything into INTC? Apple would be trading at $50k if it werent for splits. Don't be deceived by "the numbers". Okay, so I can trade BTC with futures. Thus i become agnostic to the asset completely, while being able to profit from it from both long and short positioning. This is sort of obvious to people experienced in finance, and I don't think most people who are buying BTC understand this. My read on the room is that most are relatively new to finance and niave to the possibilities and meta strategies.

If it's all about money, how is the 2nd largest market cap crypto out of THOUSANDS, not doing anything this "super cycle". The Scam-Tokens you call "meme coin" are just alt-coins with developers who run pump&dump schemes on their victims. Dogecoin just trades like an Altcoin in the top 10, as it is supposed to. the scam tokens are getting pumped by their scammer-developers. Nothing out of the usual. How would you convince your victims that you are not a scam, if you did not pump your own token at the beginning of the run? Can't cause fomo in your victims if you don't fake interest in your scam-project. FBI has already uncovered how they do it and all the scammers that have not yet been indicted, eventually will. Juts look at Saitama Inu, which dropped to virtually zero when the FBI uncovered that they artificially pumped their own coin using illegal practices. Come first signs of an alt-run... BIG spike upwards, because scammers simply can't stop scamming. As long as the crypto community tells new traders that "meme coins go up", scammers will take those new traders money. The only way to change that is to educate new investors about these scams without falling into the meme-thinking of "it's meme coins". The Bitcoin Meme of it being the only coin and everything else being trash is just as much a made up coping mechanism as "buy and hodl" and "to the moon". Neither of those memes will help anyone.... Which is why the dogecoin community is making fun of such behavior, but since it has the reputation of "using memes to express honest and deeply held beliefs", instead of just "making fun", most of the people do not realize this. But anyone who takes financial advice from a meme deserves to lose. Whether that is "to the moon" or "there can only be one"...

I agree, I played the game of trying to sell high and buying back in low. It never worked out for me. I always ended up with less than I had before trying to time the market. that is not the point, I just get surprised about friends that are all well versed in stock investments not giving a few hours of study to BTC. we went to college together and kept in touch for the past 8 years or so, helping each others with investments and it has been working out just fine, until the time I decided to sell stocks to buy BTC and started buying only BTC instead of other assets it would be really nice if they would follow me into this since there are a couple of them with BIG piles of fiat, and they are my friends, I wanted to help them, but since they are my friends I also want to brag about they being wrong

If you invest and look forward to what it could become in 10 yrs, then you have to be able to image something BIG, and don't feel a thing whether 50k or 60k is high/pricy. It can easily become a $1M / coin thing if the asset mgmt starts to scoop up, which it just started since the ETF got approved.

No. Not yet but there's always a BIG DIP before it continues. But that drop to peak is for short term people that'll pay max tax. You can expect the intermediate drop around tax season, and a smaller one for late filers. First buyers will tire, then seller's come in, have to sell more to pay taxes. Buyers come back, late filers sell to afford their tax, seller's tire and buyers take over, peak, then race to cash out, bear market begins end of 2025 / early 2026 just in time for next tax season.
