There's no annual fee, but you do need a Coinbase One account which STARTS at $50/year. Zero trading fees on the first $500 in transactions is a feature of Coinbase One, not the credit card. Besides, the trading fee on $500 worth of BTC is around $1.25. I think Coinbase is safe, but many people get weary when locking up 50K+ on an exchange....especially for a 3-4% reward. YMMV on staking boosts, but a BTC maxi may not find much value there. The rest looks like standard Amex benefits. **So the card looks good for BIG purchases and spenders that don't mind high balances sitting on an exchange.**

It's proven as an investment, but it's utility and adoption are not proven. Ripple Labs marketing material is all the companies/banks that test it but there is never any data on actual use, bank transaction numbers, dollars per day etc that would justify it's valuation. Compare it with SOL, the network of choice to launch meme coins, NFTs and other scams. It has a history of successfully hosting crypto's dark side, a much better bet. BTC proven to be digital gold, it doesn't have to prove it's value proposition is legitimate any more. Etc etc. XRP is still all marketing and hype with no real use to justify it's ridiculous speculation. Digital gold will continue, scams and memes will continue, banks might (BIG might) adopt XRP for interbank transfers but probably not.

I posted an answer in another thread, but here's the short version: Mining is generally a terrible choice unless you are planning on going BIG with it, i.e. hundreds of thousands (or more) into a mining farm as a business. Even then, you are looking at probably a 2+ year ROI, meaning about 4+ years to double your initial investment. Now, consider taking that same investment and just flat out buying $BTC with it. You have to ask yourself if your portfolio will at least double by the end of 2029. (Will $BTC be at least US $220,000 at the start of 2030?) Most people would say, yes, easily. But as always, there are no guarantees.

I primarily use RocketEx. They do automatic conversions similar to atomic swaps using all of the available DEXs at their disposal.  Just find your crypto you want to send (walletless option*), the network/wallet you want to send/convert it to, input your deposit address, send your crypto to a randomly generated address for transfer, and they do all the hard work. I often save money or benefit from arbitrage.  This saved me BIG TIME, when Solana was doing their downhill plummet earlier this year, and deposits/withdrawals were suspended on most CEXs.  I used to use Kraken, but going the all-DEX route now has saved me 5% in total fees. No more deposit fees, transfer fees, swap fees, trading fees, withdrawl fees. Everything wrapped into one transaction, no KYC bullshit, and it's atomic. Even works with BTC (I normally deal specifically with BTC, and being able to do everything in a single transaction with practically 0 fees is phenomenal).

Rule No. 1 in cryptography: Never roll your own crypto. It's a fun project. Kudos for that. But if you want something useful for people, you should use an encapsulated library. I bet your library is vulnerable to timing attacks and a dozen others. You can take the secp256k1 C library for bitcoin and port it to Python using ctypes. That's more productive. I think that exists already. Please ADD A BIG WARNING to your readme file that this library shouldn't be used in production, because some idiot will probably do it and have trouble because of it. Being responsible in these issues is important.

Well technically no I don’t have any from that exact transaction anymore cuz I’ve since sold & rebought several times so I’m also not one of those gut wrenching stories of being the guy who sold for a few dollars and forever lives in regret. Damn do I feel for those people, I can’t even imagine what I’d do. But yeah at that time I only had an extra $1K so only bought 17 that year but even if I had more I can’t say if I’d have gone in bigger. Cuz I mean hey who knew, know what I mean? Hell, as it was I lucked into getting involved w/ it in the first place. I’d made friends w/ someone who’d been all about it since its launch so he turned me on to it. Got more into it and educated myself on the space as a whole as time went on after that. Decided to sell it about a week before Christmas 2017. Still got the old school Coinbase screenshot of my account w/ that date. lol Funny thing tho is then my buddy found out a bit after & actually kinda laughed at me for selling. Took him several months but he did finally talk me into putting most of it back in @ ≈ $3500 about a year later. What convinced me was he’d not taken his foot off the gas at all in all the years leading up to the ‘17 run and was still full speed ahead even after that. And he was in well under $1. I thought he was rich back then, now dude’s a billionaire now; fkn wild that I personally know a BTC billionaire AND is who got me my start. Was very surreal for a long time. And BIG CREDIT to his wife for helping my daughter’s mother to understand back then a bit better than I was able as to just what the stakes were of taking such a huge chance of doubling down & going back in like that. Maybe it was as simple as it just being woman to woman, Idk, all I know is she made it easier for mine to grasp the enormity of the situation & its potential payoff down the road therefore relieving the tension that was so thick in the air before they talked. Hats off to his wife. By the time the ‘20 halving came around I was REALLY into the space. Sat at my desk for about a year and a half straight once the halving kicked things off, plus it was COVID so the timing of that pretty much sealed the deal for me at that point as far as where my focus was gonna be for awhile. But hell, I don’t even have to tell any of you about the last cycle tho; that was definitely the funnest it’s ever been imo. I’m sure many of you feel the same. Well the ‘17 ICO days were pretty wild too but even that was stale in comparison to ‘20-‘22. But anyway…. So I missed selling both 2021 tops but still was able to get out @ ≈ $37K in 2022. Then DCA’d back in from Nov ‘22-Jan ‘23 & long story short, here we are today currently holding 111.2ish. I owe my friend almost all the credit for it, him & his wife will forever hold a special place in my family’s hearts, that’s for sure.

You realise food is grown in regional towns right? Agriculture businesses rely on cash. Many of these places lack reception therefore cannot transact daily sales with digital money. This was a BIG issue in Australia during the pandemic. The government made cash payments illegal and regional towns suffered because of it.

My personal belief: This is a BIG year for institutional investment. We have trillions of dollars pouring into this market specifically. In order to do that, institutional traders will use every trick in the book in order to manipulate prices and eventually get a better deal. Sometime soon, OTC trading is going to run out of funds, and if institutions havnt finished investing at that point, the volatility is going to be even greater
